If tigers can’t afford another coach right now to “rebuild” yet again I would have said to sack madge right now, from the 1st penalty goal not the 2nd which was diabolical .
**Seriously excluding the game after when was the last game that the game was decided by less than 6 points let alone two points .**
You had a player in the bin not only did they waste a couple of minutes but allowed them a breather . The current game is about keeping momentum and tiring the opposition .
Current game is not like 2 years ago which the roosters perfected by giving away penalties and hugely slowing the Ptb on the line (all teams below the top 5 can’t defend on their line ). The game has surpassed madge and his tactics.
Also seems the only time this team plays is when the game is over and they attack and don’t follow the structures they been given . Been doing this all year

Three or four times in the past two weeks .... :face_palm:

1 each past 2 rounds and one of them was dogs losing to raiders. :face_palm:

Are you high too? Ya said 6 ???

So tell me which games last 2 rounds other than the 2 raiders games were decided by less than 6

The first one was weak, but levelling the scores with 9.5 of a player in the bin is one thing. The second penalty kick was madness. Still too long left in the game to be so negative. We wasted so much time taking the kicks, gave them a breather when they needed it, then weakly attempted to work off our line .

That second decision sunk us. Who made the call?

We never recovered from this.

We played poorly, and deservedly lost to the superior side. We can only dream of playing as well as the warriors are.

Superior side??? Honestly

Their best were 2 of our players and Doueihi calling for Brooksy to let him take the 1st penalty... saying to settle it down.

We must’ve played at least as good as the Warriors last week, and also for a big chunk of leading tonight, considering Knights are higher than us on the ladder, or are you that one-eyed. They didn’t deserve to win at all they simply played the more positive football, and it seems you’re acting like this is some kind of unforeseen new issue that we find ourselves confronted with?

Also if the boys aimed up on Walsh there is absolutely no way it’s possible to explain how he’s looked that good against *only* our side...

Some of these posts tonight OMG

Lol.

They were clearly the better side. Defended better, ran harder looked constantly dangerous, even with a man in the bin. They would have won by 20+ if not for the binnings.

How in earth can you try and defend the weak and incompetent performance

Being level on the goal line against 12 men with 5mins to go you tap and go.

The 1st can understand but the 2nd decision wasn’t the right one. No way the Roosters, Panthers or Storm do that.

I was very critical over both decisions in the game and nothing has changed my mind since.A team that knows they are going to win takes advantage of the extra player and keeps pressure on, a team that lacks confidence will take the 2 points because they dont fully believe in themselves.

I'm less worried about taking the two, more worried about letting the Warriors score twice with 12 men. That's the game changer, it's not about penalties here and there, it's about not being able to keep oppositions under 20 points (or better) and then hoping to attack like lunatics to make up the difference.

If we score a try instead of kicking for two, we reduce the amount of time they have with the ball

Sure we're useless in defense, and it's a massive problem, so while personnel is busted we should shift the gameplan to starving opposition of the ball

Its not the first time Madge has done that either and we never win.

I can excuse mistakes but doing it over and over for the same result pisses me right off!!

With the new rulings. I hope playing with an extra man and defending without one is high on our new training regime.
It’s not going to be the last time we see it this year.
Last week we defended with 12 and conceded a try.
You see other teams have a plan how to exploit the overlap, how to wear out the same channel to take advantage of that at a later date. We just go to water. 1st one to even the score, mildly ok. Second 1 not the right idea however with our team and our 1 set block play on the left in not confident we would of gotten the points any other way.

I don’t think the tigers can grind out a win against a better team. Only against poorer opposition.
Warriors were missing too many of their regular side to.
That in itself was concerning.

I’m all in on the first 2 pointer, the second one a maybe. You grab the 2 on offer get the ball back and spread it wide. Trouble is we don’t have fox and Coates on the flanks. Possession is the key with the opposition 1 down. Lifting the tempo of the game after getting a 2 pointer can be just as damaging. But the way Brooks was kicking, I probably play on on the 2nd .

Yep ... the not scoring against 12 was not good but having 12 score against 13 TWICE is diabolically bad...

In the old Broncos days someone like Alfie Langer would have acted on in born killer instinct and taken a quick tap. These days, there is no one within this team that wants to take the responsibility, so they all depend and do what they are told...

Honest objective assessment

Taking the two when receiving a penalty in the red zone, just does not fit our style of play.

We're at our best when playing 'adlib footy'. Being conservative and structured is required in defense, but when on the attack we need to loosen up, and honestly in all the time Madge has been here he always makes us take the two, and it never works for us.

We're always criticised for not having a personality as a team, its because we have players that suit a certain style of play, being forced into being conservative and robotic.

let the boys play madge, just let them play

Just a gutless call

1st one yes ...2nd one no

We'd had the ball for 4 minutes straight by that stage ...score then and you'd probably almost break the Warriors

Yea i agree - the first one brought us back on even keel. The second to me was a no brainer to play on. They were struggling and we had the chance to take the game away from them, instead we keep them in the game.

In hindsight you can definitely say it was negative. But the first shot was to level the game, the second was to put our noses in front. The majority of teams would have done the same. What I was ropable about was on the attack, up 20-18, against 12 men, and Mbye throws a forward pass.

I thought it was a reasonable move, it got us in front, I am sure they never expected that our defence would let us down so badly.
But that is covering up some appalling plays earlier in the game anyway, where we shouldn't have been in the position.

Our defence letting us down ?? Yeah what a shock that was
