Yes but we were/are suppose to build our future from local talent. You know five year plan blah blah. This looks like our best way out of this messSt George just lost Finau Latu to the Bulldogs much to Flanagan's frustration. Parra. have lost multiple juniors to other clubs and so have Penrith because they couldn't keep them all - Katao and Ilongi both doing great things at their new clubs. Their are lots of things this club has screwed up but it is not unique to lose juniors when all clubs are prepared take risks with young talent.
When do you think we will hit our stride ,if ever? Why?We weren’t able to convince TDS to chill and are now resigned to losing him.
It’s not catastrophic, as he will be replaced.
I don’t see a future for Api beyond the next few years and we aren’t performing to a level where we will hit our stride this year and probably next year.
Wow! Getting us in the top 8 in another 3 yeras. He will be 37. Struggling now to play 50 minutes. i can't believe the low expectations on here for this club. That is why we are where we are and do not look like ever getting out of the cellar any time soon.So hard this one. I think we should do everything we can to keep them both tbh but if no matter what that isn’t possible, i think we neee to keep Api.
Api has three good years left in him IMO and if he can captain us back to the top 8 and retire a Tiger, he is a proper Tiger legend. He also has a great relationship with Benji and Jarome. Not easy call but that’s the way I’d be going
only happy clappers here mate…A bit of a side question here … when was the last time you disagreed with a decision the club made about a player ? I’m struggling to recall it happening
When your coach admits to not knowing if you will be at the club in two weeks, you might as well start packing your bags. He’s definitely gone. If not in the next week, next year for sure.Yes but we were/are suppose to build our future from local talent. You know five year plan blah blah. This looks like our best way out of this mess
And how can we afford to buy players, we have to pay overs, no one of note will come to the joint except for very good money.
TDS is a litmus test, if we lose him, it’s a very bad outcome.
Held onto brooks for ten years though 😢Other clubs don’t lose their young stars who they publicly boast they will be building the club around.
Personally I reckon he had an each way bet to shake one free. If Galvin stayed Latu would of been a targetGould wanted the Fainu bros and didn't get them. You could sense buyer's remorse during commentary when he spoke about Latu Fainu; he got Galvin but missed the prize. Our much maligned recruitment team bettered him.
It’s pretty slack painting a 20 year old as a villain for wanting the best possible path to first grade. As much as you want to try to make it that way, it’s nothing like Galvin.I remember reading a post from BWG which resonated -
Comments like this from Tartak must make it hard for TDS to look his captain in the eye at training atm.
This was in response to the following appearing in an article from the Mole -
"Tallyn loves the Tigers - this isn't a Lachlan Galvin-type situation," Tartak emphasised.
"It's up to the Tigers to decide what they want to do but if Api stays, chances are Tallyn will have to go."
I also re-read back in 2023 where Koroisau had offered to switch to 7 to assist the club with its halfback issue well-knowing this may impact his SOO selection. Ask yourself who really loves the club and spare a thought for Koroisau who I'm sure is uncomfortable in having been placed in this position.

Also not great when his manager is quoted saying if the captain is here my client is goneIt’s pretty slack painting a 20 year old as a villain for wanting the best possible path to first grade. As much as you want to try to make it that way, it’s nothing like Galvin.
Has Benji expressed the same conviction at any point to retain TDS? Haven’t even heard him say he wants to retain TDS and then to have some kind of transition plan. To Benji, it’s just “Api Api Api”. And the moral of that story is that TDS is the bad guy for wanting to explore his options? Come on.Especially when you compare it to the response he gave on Api for 2027.
"He's going nowhere"
Refer to my last post. Also not great when his manager is quoted saying if the captain is here my client is gone
His management came out with its him or me spiel and attempted to distance themselves from Galvin. He is also under contract until end of 26 well knowing at the time he had one of the best hookers in the NRL in front of him. It is his management team who also mentioned Galvin, not me. Koroisau is not blocking his pathway to the NRL because at this time Da Silva is a good young player but cannot displace Koroisau. It’s pretty slack painting a 20 year old as a villain for wanting the best possible path to first grade. He is currently 32. I think we should be making the 8 next year fwiw.Wow! Getting us in the top 8 in another 3 yeras. He will be 37. Latu appears to me to want to be at WTs.Personally I reckon he had an each way bet to shake one free. If Galvin stayed Latu would of been a target
It isn't an ego stroking contest where all players need to receive the public admiration from the coach.... He said API will be here.. woopty doo... Tallyn wants to leave if API is here . The choice is out of Benji's hands if he wants API to stay in any shape or form..Refer to my last post.
