Think a lot of us here don't want the dinosaur coaching styles of Des, Madge and approaching that status Flanno anywhere near our club again, leave those fossils in the sandstone layers in peace where they belong.

Each to their own, that’s fine by me.

Benji is the worst coach in the NRL.

We shouldn’t be afraid of recognising and thinking about that.

Some people might argue that anyone is better than the undisputed worst

Some think he is getting closer to turning things around.

I just wonder at what point we form the view that the club would be better served with someone else in the role?

Or whether he needs more help and assistance. Even if it’s on the quiet so as not to humiliate him.

Des started coaching NRL in 2004 at manly.. They lost 6 of their first 7 games and came 3rd last. This is with players like Michael monaghan, Menzies, hoppa, watmough, Brett stewart and Glenn stewart.

In 2005 he had 3 more wins and came 8th. But they had signed ben Kennedy and matai among others.

In 2006 he had 2 more wins and moved up to 5th . They had signed Matt Orford this year.

Benji walked into a team who had the spoon and a dogsh1t roster.

You have to laugh at the narrative that Benji had to deal with a squad with a dogshit roster.
It is not true.
The club underachieved in 2023. Backing that up with another spoon in 2024 was a fking disgrace. If they get another one this year, he should be marched out of concorde naked as we all line the streets and throw buckets of poo on him.
That wont happen though due to the embarrassing level of sychophancy that he benefits from due to his abilities as a player.

That would be a bitter pill to swallow.
Makes you wonder if it wasn't a sweetner to get Galvin initially. It all seems to have progressed with the Bulldogs moving on Sexton and Mahoney and now Da Silva not content to be transitioned into what everyone assumed was a natural progression.

not only a spoon but a club on its knees really , 3 spoons 2 clowns in Lee & Pascoe , shitty board . thing is people want to bag benji and some is fair but no one else put their hand up to coach this club . he’s breathing life back into it

Firstly, others did put their hands up to coach. This wasnt some noble act on his behalf. It was incedibly selfish.
Secondly, how is life being breathed back into the club? He has secured 2 spoons and this season is ballancing on the edge of a cliff again.

who ? Ciraldo used the excuse he wasn’t ready yet then took the dogs job a couple months after

benji’s done the best recruitment out of any coach, the talent we’ve been able to secure considering the basket case we’ve been for years was outstanding , no other coach has been able to do it . he has pull with players and you can see they play for him . There’s life there after watching plodders for years .

Have no doubt Gould has orchestrated this entire event,given how easy it was to do same with Galvin

In Be jis case he loves the club where others before him in coaching and admin just collect their coin owing and.go on their.merry way

It’s been confirmed by Richo that he will be the coach in 26 even if we get another spoon.

All nice and interesting but…

The record shows he’s still the worst coach in the NRL.
 
People can love and adore Benji, all good, I support that.

But the results suggest he simply can’t coach at this level, doing what he’s doing.

He can do plenty of other good and helpful things for the club.
