Tallyn Da Silva #270

Kid is hot property.

Be sad to see him go.
Think we need to roll the dice and keep him and Api and let things work themselves out , down the track.

Perhaps with Api finishing his career at 14 then moving into assistant coaching job.

I'm a big fan of TDS but Api is the heart of the club.

So these dribblers Hooper & Riccio on 360 think we’ll just release TDS by June 30.

Why would we? He’s under contract for another season and we don’t have another adequate backup if Api goes down.

It just won’t happen unless we get something significant in return.
I thought the same about Galvin.

We seem to need to solve every problem immediately instead of letting things play out:
- Released Onitini Large because he was blocked by Galvin who left 9 months later
- Released Galvin 18 months before he's due to leave - leaving us short in the halves
- Releasing TDS because he might be blocked by Api in 2027 - Api has not yet re-signed and who knows in 18 months time he might have had enough and retire

What you're suggesting in logical but not the way WT seem to operate.

Matter of time until we start getting over the fact that Benji dropped Tallyn and replaced him with Bent Naden as the 14 for a couple of weeks and we haven't won since.
Haven't won a game since Lachlan dropped the ball over the line. Since he left. Since Melbourne decided to paste us. There are lots of correlations, and no one causation.

Oh look @Tucker is back and what’s he doing ….. bagging the club and Benji !
How’s your favourite Madge going ? About to get sacked is my prediction . Won’t have a job come this time next year …
Anyways … if Benji shits the bed the rest of the year I can see the club moving him into the front office .. and going after Toddy boy who won’t have a job by the end of July .

Letting TDS go now is very strange as there is no natural backup I can see. If Api goes down (perish the thought) do we rely on Tristan Hope and perhaps Mason to fill in? Even if it were a loan, we’d still be short.
Hopefully it’s a media beat up and if does go, loan or permanently, it will be in ‘26

Hope isn’t even signed for 2026 at this stage. Haywood is on development though.

I ain't over it. Love Benji but that was a dogshit decision and there was no justifying it. It's one thing to drop TDS but to drop him for that lazy cokehead who has squandered every option he's had here was disgraceful and it bit us in the arse more than once.

It was a weird decision . It seemed political at the time and even more so now !
It was a weird, idiotic and political decision.TDS was one of the common denominators in just about all our wins this season, providing some much needed spark off the bench.

Definitely political because there's no other way to justify keeping a good player like TDS in reserves or riding the bench for 80 minutes while giving a long leash to duds like Naden and Seyfarth.

Who knows man … there’s been a lot of shit now around TDS and Galvin . I like the kid , but I have to say the knock on him is heard when he made first grade a couple of years ago , from a mate who’s son played against him was “that kids got serious tickets on himself “ .
Like I said it’s hard to say that’s a bad thing though because only the absolute borderline narcissist type footy player becomes a legend . I think it’s almost innate at that level …. Unless it’s destabilising a footy team .
But man for good and bad I think Benji at least is feeling pressure and the need to win now . So all the guys who want him gone … there’s signs that that could be happening soon .
For me I don’t care if Saddam Hussein is the coach . I just want the tigers to win . I honestly couldn’t give a Fudge ! I worry if Benji goes though , so does half our team .

Agreed, though I think that the bench use problems started in the donkeys match. Then Melbourne had already torn us apart to be up 30 odd zip before Tallyn even entered the fray, yet he was scapegoated for one poor pass.

I want Api around for a while yet and still support Marshall overall, but have become increasingly disillusioned with the bench selections and use, especially leaving players sitting on it for 80 as we lose with wasted interchanges.

This club has done us bad once again, richo has sun so much about a “development club” yet he has let 3 of our best juniors go and not replaced them, if the culture is poor it must be the top priority for improvement, but if these kids are leaving because our coach is incompetent then he should probably go too, as his results have been poor as well

Letting TDS go is criminal.
From all accounts he is disposable compared to young Haywood, who the club rates very highly and has apparently a lot higher ceiling. TDS going won't scare the club too much with Haywood the long term option after Api, also the club will not lose Api you can bank on that.
