Tallyn Da Silva #270

No doubt he is a very good player of potential, but so is Haywood so there is no need to be a downer on a young player's career. Haywood has the advantage of being able to play 9 as well as 6 or 7.
I’ve got nothing against Haywood.
He’s doing quite well at the moment, in the Flegg side.

I’m just trying to recall - has Da Silva ever played Flegg ?
I seem to remember he went from SG Ball
straight to NSW Cup šŸ¤”

Can’t remember, though he did debut in first grade the same year he played his final SG Ball season.

Yes it is difficult but Anasta confirmed Da Silva doesn't want to serve an apprenticeship under Koroisau. That he is hot property strengthens our position and hopefully if he is released, we see a player(s) in return to strengthen our team. I haven't seen the Bulldogs linked to Da Silva? Is their cap full😁?
They will be linked after a deal is done. I'm sure Gus is keeping an eye on the situation.

If you're suggesting a linear development path for players well that is flawed.

Why is it ok to make exceptions for TDS as a rookie player, but can't exceptions for Benji as a rookie coach? Benjis valid to the team has also improved alot..
Because Benji wasnt just a rookie when he started, he had as much experience as the ballboys had.
Being the head coach of an NRL Franchise is the Final Boss job. You have to earn it, not have it given to you because you asked nicely and have scored some exciting tries over the years.

I love it..
A little reminder to TDS where his head was at not that long ago..
and that he might be emotionally reacting to a situation.
This is a strange post considering what you potentialy know of this situation.
The flipside is that this video is a little reminder to people such as yourself that this kid was all in not long ago and whatever has occurred in the past 2 months has had a terrible effect.

I get the feeling Richo allowing Benji to extend Api over TDS is giving him enough rope to hang himself.

Interesting.

Richo appears to have been all in on Benji since he arrived with very little public distancing so far.

But a reluctance to publicly express displeasure with Benji’s lack of performance is to be expected.

These types of sackings are usually foreshadowed with over-zealous statements of support.

The board will make the decision, it’s not Richo’s to make, but to manage.

Its not their job to approach the coach and get their mate selected ahead of the guy who is the incumbant and has prepared for 2 preseasons to play there.
Huh?? It’s not the role of the players leadership group to suggest to the coach who may go well if given a run in a certain position when talking about possible team selections?

Valid.
I remain hopeful things can work out and this acts as a reminder to him of why he wanted to stay.

So what are the roles and responsibilities of the senior playing group in your opinion?

In my opinion it's to work with the coaching staff to ensure they are achieving the best possible results as a team.. this involves giving feedback and opinions..

I think there is a plethera of roles and responsibilities such as:
Delivering high-quality consistent performances week in, week out. Leading by example through work ethic, communication, and decision-making during games. Staying calm, composed and focused under pressure and help to steady the team. Setting preofessional standards at training a
rriving early, training hard, following recovery protocols, and preparing meticulously for each match. Driving intensity and focus during training, encouraging younger players to match their standard. Providing constructive feedback to teammates and accept coaching direction with professionalism. Guiding rookies and less experienced teammates—both on and off the field (e.g., diet, media, professionalism). Upholding and promoting club values, culture, and history. Inspiring teammates through speeches, actions, and attitude, especially when morale is low. Representing the team with professionalism in interviews and media appearances. Participating in charity work, fan events, and junior club visits as a role model. Helping to monitor teammates’ mental health and personal struggles—providing support or encouraging them to seek help....and of course winning games of football as the best players should.

If someone in your business came up and said bob had been doing really well and you think that he deserved a shot on a project over bill, there's nothing wrong with that at all..
If they turn treated bill like a piece of sh1t then yes that's bullying.
But providing opinions/feedback is far from bullying...
Drawing a long long bow mate
Thats not a comparable analogy. If team members came to me at the start of a project and said that they prefered a different manager as they get along better with them, Id be looking to replace those members.
Its not that long of a bow...we are providing good mentors and team mates to help these kids and they are leaving. Think about it. These players have always and continue to be described as being good kids from good families. They are not big headed arseholes. They should be beside themselves with excitement over our continued recruitment results. Instead they are leaving the club.

Ok well my point is carrying both weakens our side defensively so it’s the risk you take for the impact you want to gain in attack. I believe we lose that same impact in defence.
So on that note I would be playing Api 80 or less being replaced by a utility with the capability of playing hooker and giving TDS the chance to build his motor in NSW Cup.
You spiked my interest and the results are just as you suspected. These are the 9 games they played together. With the exception of the Storm game, both of them have kept the scoring happening whilst keeping the opposition to 0 on 6 occasions. The Storm leadup has to be looked at as it is such an outlier, however the way Benji used them is also of interest I think.

Not at the start of the season when player A has trained there all summer whilst player B recovers from his 437th injury.

Interesting.
Is it possible to highlight when they are on the field together?

It was mainly the Cronulla game. Api went 85 straight and moved to 1/2 back for 16 minutes whilst Luai was HIA. Tallyn went 9 and then replaced Api for the final 5 minutes of GP
