We have a very good relationship with his manager and more than a few of his clients at our club. I don't doubt there will be negotiating between both parties.
 
We wait years for special young talent to come through but everytime they do they are immediately on other clubs radars and off they go.

How long will Makasini stick around? Don't tell me how long he's contracted for.

There’s litterally 1 working day between now and the deadline . There’s no way on earth we should let him go now without compensation . .
So for me , if I was Richo , I’d let this round of talks happen, let them out bid each other , and then say “great job guys … so what are you giving us “ .
I can see the eels, manly and cowboys especially be willing to let us peruse thier playing squads , as they are proper desperate .
There’s absolutely no talent at all anywhere in their juniors at all those clubs.
So a player swap has to be the least of our demands . Which is why no can’t see it happening until really the off season.

Nah bro not true! Makasini is and was the one . And Im glad everyone is seeing the truth about Galvin . He wasn’t destined for the halves for long at this club . Latu was always the one. .
TDS …: well I’m sure the club thought api would be winding down , and not playing on . But he’s gonna be a cam smith , and play into his late 30s .
This timeline now puts Hayward firmly into the frame.
I’m confident if TDS sees out the season both the KOE and flegg teams will make the finals and go on a run .
We just gotta keep grinding . Both the Andrew John’s and lawrie Daley teams were extremely competitive, so hopefully that bodes well for Matt’s and sg ball next year . I mean there’s probably a 15 year old kid kicking arse somewhere in our youth teams who is going to explode next year and will be the new apple of our eye .
We have to find a. Culture these kids want to buy into . I’m guessing with that Matt’s team , too much of the old culture had too much influence . We gotta be better …

I cannot absolutely totally 100 % cannot believe we are just letting another contracted player , our star junior walk with 2 years left to go on a contract for nothing at all . Absolutely diabolically awful roster management and I have had an absolute gutful of developing an interest in our juniors with a view to be excited about what they will contribute to our future only to watch them waltz out the door … especially when we are just doing it to keep players that we are currently still losing with .. has Benji lost the plot ? Talyn is the JUNIOR that wants to build the club into a dynasty , the leader of all the cambo crew of juniors and we cannot even give him a run off the bench … Jesus Christ Benji get it together or at least get some help with the bench rotations and an attack coach that is not part of the 05 team that has a track record of success ..

That’s the great thing about both the Galvin and TDS situations. It gives you zero confidence in the club being able to keep these guys. Who’s to say Benji won’t sign Dane Gagai and choose to give him 3 or 4 years and tell Makasini to pound sand. Never underestimate how inept the people running this club can be. Don’t get attached to that kid, cos if he is half as good as he’s being made out to be, he won’t last

I can see Rugby Yawnion throwing a ton at that kid before too long …perhaps 2027 …Im sure they will respect the Wests Tigers contract lol …

@Chunk had the best summation of this and that’s Benji’s only thinking of the short term to save his own arse, which he won’t do. He’s on borrowed time. And he’s ripping the heart out of the club by letting these kids go.

It’s us that don’t respect our own contracts. Let’s hope none of our players sign with the Bears in November. They’ll all get immediate releases.

TDS has looked really good in our winning performances, but he definitely struggles when we don't have the momentum and I think he tires easily at the moment and this has a significant impact on his play in having a less consistent pass and difficulty defensively. In his few starts, he hasn't looked particularly good. There's a lot that remains unproven about TDS. Liddle probably had similar performances as he was coming into grade. Liddle probably a little more threatening in his running and a little more erratic in his passing.

All that said, I really like TDS and I think it's a mistake the club is letting him go. At the very least he's a very valuable underpriced backup for another 18 months. I don't think we have the luxury of being so charitable to our players that we let them go simply because they feel underutilised here. This is a bad decision, no matter what you think of either Api or TDS.

is TDS under contract for another 2 years ? wow didn't realize that. Sooner or later a welfare refugee that wants to jump ship needs to be made an example of.But in this new age world is it worth the hassle to prove a point
