Which in this case is self-inflictedI don't think so. Just has limited roster to pick from.
More importantly why should he even need to make a promise like that. To me it sounds like a few of these kids are unwilling to do the hard yards and win their spots...or they just want to cash in asap. So I take from his comment that the family were agitating for some time about the fact they wanted their son as the starting 9 on good coin and were not willing to back themselves to earn the spot on merit.what rubbish.. i made a promise to his family.
This club doesn't want to get better or win.
Might string a couple of wins here or there but rest assured there will be a positive spin to it all. If we avoid the spoon, at least we didn't come last. If we win the spoon, our performances were better than last year.
Shit club, shit management.
In defence. That started before Richo. Go back and listen to the first press conference Sheens gave as GM of football following Madge’s sacking. That’s also the moment these 22 HM glory boys all got their Top 30 contracts!
I think Latu is a great prospect but come on.
There's a reason why we offered Galvin 6 million over 5 years and he was the one starting in the halves.
Recruiting Sexton is exactly what Phil Gould wants, to assist with the Bulldog's cap and to annoy Fainu in the hope he joins the Dogs. And we went in for Reynolds for 2yrs.
It’s why I don’t think grabbing Sexton is a bad thing for 18mths + options.
I’m a big fan of Latu was before he joined but he needs time to get his body right.
The kid has hardly played any footy over the last few years since he started playing up into adult grades & his body frame has the makings to develop alot larger potentially making him a liability wider of the middle.
He’s not contracted - won’t effect their cap at allRecruiting Sexton is exactly what Phil Gould wants, to assist with the Bulldog's cap and to annoy Fainu in the hope he joins the Dogs.
SHOOSHHe’s not contracted - won’t effect their cap at all
This is the 4th year of ‘this’ rebuild right? You bring up the three wooden spoons when it suits your argument, but seem unwilling to grasp just how deep the rebuild needs to be—especially after three consecutive spoons and a full decade of dysfunction beforehand.
Only a happy clapper like you could possibly think that’s for an immediate move…SHOOSH
Out-of-favour Bulldogs half Toby Sexton has been offered to the Wests Tigers as a replacement for Lachlan Galvin. We’re hearing the Tigers have other priorities at this stage but it’s one to keep an eye on. Sexton at halfback with Luai at five-eighth could possibly work. We hear the Titans might be interested in Sexton as well.

I’m hoping Richo has a better idea about player value and worth to a team.I don’t care when it started… when’s it going to finish?
Just be patient right…
These kids are everywhere.
We don't manage them well or give them false expectations at the start of the contract.
That is exactly what's happening. We've got our heads in the sand if we think the managers aren't signing their kids up here because they KNOW they'll be signed on overs,
fast tracked to first grade and in the front of the Shop Window
to help get them into a real club down the track.
That is exactly what's happening.
The club doesn't care though because they'll keep signing new shiny players to keep the fans engaged, then release them without a proper explanation.
I didn’t read it like that at all.More importantly why should he even need to make a promise like that. Look we took a gamble. Signed all our best kids on big long term contracts whilst they come of age in the lower grades hoping the money would keep them satisfied in the meantime.Jordan Miller was a real factor for me,
That kid was Top 30 and on 300k+ this year?
Hasn't played Footy for a year, Anywhere!
Even Matt Lodge has had a run and keeping his toe in it,
Retired blokes like Fifita, Blake Austin still in the game.
Almost was like Kiah Cooper - Still playing.
This kid was a 19yr old being paid overs as a professional footballer
(All well deserved if you ask him) and just came back to Training.
WT's are the Cuck of the game.

I think we need to look beyond the contracts offered to the kids and start factoring what else we can bring into the club to make it an attraction for younger players to stay around.
For years the draw has pretty much been a quicker opportunity to play first grade due to our piss poor roster.
We still need to finalise that top 17-20 players and make it as elite as possible. Something for the kids to look towards in respect and admiration not in distain.
I was out at Bateau a couple of Sundays back to watch Blake Austin playing for Berka.Jordan Miller was a real factor for me,
