Tamou has never been great, but he's always been very good. A strong consistent career, the likes of which we could feed off and benefit from.

The big thing he brings is leadership. How long have the members of this forum been calling for leadership? We have young forwards in need of leadership. He is the captain of this years finals frontrunners. If he can make the paddock and have a go, we are on to a good thing.

Some of us on this forum think that "leadership" is overblown and a mythical pipedream. We need good players pure and simple.

Its a simple game for simple people.

I don't get it. He's signing for reportedly $350k per season however some people are acting like he's signing on for $800k per season. Then you have others who wouldn't take him on minimum.
To get Tamou & JAC for the same price as Latrell (possibly with some leftover change) shows we are making better recruitment choices.

How does that show that, we would have signed Latrell if he wanted to come here, that wasn't out decision.
Last year we were prepared to pay LM overs, this year we are tabling offers at market value

The same people are making the offers? It is more likely we have less cash to splash this offseason.

***They got publicly humiliated when they couldn't sign LM for overs,*** do you think they will repeat the same mistake twice? Gone are the days of paying overs, Madge is making sure of that.

That fits the narrative, not sure if its based in fact.Didnt the Tigers very publicly state the offer was off the table for LM and if he was serious he could always come back to us ( he didnt, and we didnt)?

Doesn’t sound like he really wants to come here. Sounds like a last option only. This will be a disaster an ageing prop who doesn’t want to be here but has no choice. It’s not going to end well.

This “recruitment “ of Tamou and JAC is sounding more like the LM circus every day, how many other teams do their recruitment in public like the Tigers, there’s usually just an announcement, Tigers are on the nose among the players I’d say and this is all going to end in tears again .

Genuinely interested, please point us to an article quoting Tigers management regarding Tamou or JAC? No one at the Tigers is recruiting in public. Media is speculating like they do with everyone.

We know who wears the pants...

It’s ok because she is very easy on the eye, even in trackies and a jumper!

We need a leader who has proven experience and played at the highest levels. Tamou ticks all those boxes and is just what we need. He will buy into our coaches methods and rub of onto the younger forwards coming through like Blore, stefano, McIntyre. Look at the broncos forward pack without an experienced leader and see how they are going. This will be one of our best signings if it happens. Would you rather mbye or Tamou as captain???

Really? We turned around and payed overs for Joey, so I don't see any evidence of better recruitment yet.

It's debatable whether we paid overs for him, Canberra fans didn't think so at the time and Nofo is certainly having one of his better seasons outside of him.
Though Joey aside, Stefano, Blore and AJ are astute signings. None of them were paid overs.

Blore and Stefano were signed before the Latrell drama so they aren't learnt lessons since Latrell and they are still to show they are 1st grade regulars. AJ was signed as a fullback or 5/8th but best position is centr. and reports of his value in the final years of this deal could make him overpaid.

Stefano was signed in late Jan. Blore was signed in May. Both after the Latrell circus.

Sorry I didn't realise that, man this year is dragging, that feels so long ago. They still haven't shown enough to say they are good signings.

All good, it's felt like two seasonswith the covid stoppage.

Kickoff seems so long ago lol

Would feel quite normal for supporters of teams that make the finals.

I get it, if it was a decision that was possibly taking them interstate. But if between staying at Penrith or coming to us, why would the decision be hers? That’s just dumb.

Leadership isn't required if 9th place is our objective. Some of us on this forum think the team needs on field leadership and has for several years.

He sounds like a player looking for one more contract, not a player wanting to play football. Still not keen on signing him. I know our forwards need improvement, just don't think he provides that.

Tamou is near the end of his career and playing in a top side with many players carrying the workload so its easy to look good.We have to many stale players in mbye,Packer,Reynolds etc..We need to only buy quality players under 26 yrs.Do not panic and stuff the cap.Buy young promising players or quality established young players only. I would rather wait 2 more years to build a roster then then be in the same position signing burnt out talent.
