Now we're getting fluff pieces in the middle of a losing season.
Simple way to fix it, pull ur fingers out, put ur shoulders into tackles and effort, effort, effort.

Does anyone remember 2019 panthers, not consistent and showed glimpses. Reason they put it down to was a new side and a lot of young guys playing in their first and second season nek Minnit 2020 - present been unbelievable.

Our squad could be building into something similar, one or two big signings will change us and the more games our new spine and young players play together can only be good. Hopefully we put together some more wins just for their confidence and culture to grow. I do believe we are getting better just by watching the last 2 weeks. Defence obviously our worst enemy, feel like everyone defends by them self and not a team. Perhaps Madge needs to hire a defending coach just to concentrate on that, madge likes to do stuff alone and I think that’s costing us. We need some big names coaching staff working with him, instead of this individual relos he builds. Coaching director would be wonders too, I think Madge is building something here but needs help, just needs to get out of his own way.

The board increased the operational budget for training staff, but pretty sure that has already been allocated.

time for our standard 6 weeks of must wins, then its 6 weeks of mathematical

I think the abacus might be out early this year

Mine's been out and is now put away because it couldn't calculate negatives of any of lack of effort, intelligence or desire.

Starting to use Mage's words
Doing Reviews and few things to fix but nothing changes.
Just like the piss weak excuses us fans and supporters cop each post game and every season after missing the top 8.
This club and its personnel are notorious for excuses and failures.

Jimmy has been to Madge's school of handling the media, just keep saying the same things over and over, but never really addressing and correcting them

100% !
Lip service, thats all there is

Agree, it’s time to get Mike Tyson in for a training session and pep talk. 😁
I think Tamou is right though, the team is starting to bond. You can notice the additional discretionary effort and the way they rally when a teammate cops a head high. The longer this season goes the better their knowledge of each other’s game. The players probably have a handle on who plays golf in the team by now.😜
Keep the spine as it is Madge. You can change it in the preseason.

Cleary bit the bullet midway through the year and started blooding players at will, giving them the first grade experience they needed. by the end of the year they were coming home strong, would be nice to see us go down a similar trajectory.

but above all, they way they recruited was very very smart. they moved Maloney on for Luai and brought in Koroisau to give Nathan complete control, Capewell as a handy player that could fill a few positions, and Tetevano off the bench as an experienced front rower who had won premierships. if we're to do something similar we need to recruit in a similar fashion.

'Honest review session'. Hahaha. Good one.

Yeah it was honest. They spoke about how they could play without any backbone and still get picked next week.

I think the similarity stops with blooding young players just like they did. That 2019 Penrith side was coming off a side that had made the semis 3 years in a row so there was already a winning mentality in the club. They got rid of their coach and their attack suffered however their defence pretty much was the same as the previous years. In 2020 Cleary took their defence to another level and that has continued to this day. Us on the other hand have gone backwards in both defence and attack. Our defence is over 100 points worse off than what we were at this stage last season. That cant be just down to the new rules.

Unless they are talking about how the club has a history of playing poorly after playing well and take some real ownership of that then his comments are nothing more than fluff.

Guess he has to earn his money somehow.

Isn't every game a must win..I don't get the mentality Mr Tamou.

Agree 100%. The Panthers and Storm, for example, play with such intensity that every play is important. And when you are focused at each play and each set then your mentality as a group suggests that every game is a must win.

A tight-knit group of boys that leak 30 points every game

Very tightly knit. We didn't have enough wool to finish the edges.
