Think Taylor and club gets some credit for the decision
For all the highlights this guy can produce he's value with suspensions and penalties and inconsistent performance over a full season U could have junior workhorse players add more value then marty

With all the changes in league regards foul play and dodgy high shots players use to get away with think Marty is now a liability
I thought Fifita would be a liability but was proven wrong we lost out on him but think manly are rethinking Marty value

It'll be interesting what he gets this trip to the judiciary.

I did not see the game, what has **Mad Marty** done ?
Am surprised that Trent Barrett and Bob Fulton, have not had a chat to him yet.

Picked a bloke up, who didn't have the ball, and dumped him on his head.

So unfairly critiqued imo, he tries hard in a team that's not going so well at all under an unproven rookie coach. Agree his frustration gets the better of him at times but he kills it when he uses it in a positive way

Put him under a Bellamy or Bennet and he'd kill it imo

He will be a great footballer when the penny finally drops, because when he plays with controlled aggression he can rip any team to bits. My concern is, will the penny ever drop and maybe he is just a flat tracker and snuggles when he comes up against quality. As for being a great player if he played under Bennett or Bellyache, not sure on that one, Adam Blair still has big discipline problems.

Anyway we are better off without him because we were not a good enough side to recover from all the penalties and suspensions. The money we saved we were able to secure Grant and Taylor and they are players who give you bang for your buck

Then again , you have to ask yourself why a Bennett or Bellamy has shown no interest or why Dessie let him go in the first place ??

I think he kills it now. He is exactly what we need. Someone who goes out there and makes a bust and has an impact.

Well now if u sign Marty u have to factor in 2-3 suspensions per year it's reality

That's the Warriors problem they have exciting explosive players but over 80mins and a full season it doesn't work

Look at Melbourne they have explosive but disciplined mentally strong players no loose cannons

This exactly is why I get so mad at the Tigers be more like the Storm Controlled and Professional ..discipline is the key to success with out doubt!

was reasonably comfortable with us releasing taupau when we did. not worth close to 650k

his continual suspensions just make it so much more obvious we did a good thing letting him go. he can be very damaging in attack, but his defence and workrate doesn't make him worth 650k.

you pay that money for a sam burgess who puts up almost 200m a game, plays 60+ minutes and tackles like a monster the whole time

Exactly look at the production line the Broncos are producing in backrowers that are cheap at moment

I can't even name them and they are so efficient and do there job although any junior would look good in there squad

Terrible tackle - 10 weeks! Wait he plays for who? Oh well the opposition player clearly contributed - penalty sufficient.

Taupau in hot water for nasty flipping tackle
By Steve Gee, WWOS

Manly enforcer Martin Taupau is on hot water after being placed on report for a nasty flipping tackle on Matt Gillett during the Sea Eagles’ heavy loss to Brisbane. No stranger to the judiciary, Taupu could be facing more time on the sidelines after a careless tackle on Gillett in the 67th minute.

With the Broncos in control at 26-6, Taupau tried to inspire his teammates with a hit on Gillett, but it all went terribly wrong when he lifted the Brisbane backrower and released him in the air. Gillett landed on the back of his neck, sparking immediate concern from the Manly enforcer and an apology.

Following the hit, play continued for several seconds with Brisbane movingthe ball further up field and forcing a Manly drop-out. However, Jared Maxwell returned to the scene of the tackle following the stoppage to award Brisbane a penalty and place Taupau on report. Fortunately, Gillett escaped uninjured but the Sea Eagles enforcer is sure to face the judiciary after being placed on report.

His biggest problem is that he cannot control his aggression. He may think he walks a fine line, but all too often he crosses that line and hurts his team in the process. A very good player on his day but brain melts happen too often with him.

Terrible tackle. Dead set did not even have the ball. I think Marty could be anything but if he doesn't learn control he will be a nothing.Either way he plays for Manly who cares.
