OFFICIAL Taylan "Tiny" May

I'm a wee bit confused by the stand down policy, so he signed a new 1.2 million dollar 2 yr deal with the Panthers, once he was charged was it ripped up. Now the charges are dropped for whatever reason, he's lost 1.2 million dollars. Or do Penrith now have to financially honour the deal. How does it work. Atm as it stands he wasn't charged with anything today so is innocent. Yet still lost time in the game and a lucrative contract. Can anyone explain for me please.
From what I recall. Penrith did the contract ripping up as a standards thing aside from the no fault stand down. Following that he was stood down from joining any other clubs.
Out of all the players hit by the no fault stand down he was hit the hardest. The rule was in place for players to train and retain their identity until a decision was determined in the courts.

Could he take litigation action against the NRL
The stand down policy makes no assertion as to the guilt or innocence of the players. They can still train with the club.

Simply, it is a stand down if charges are brought against you depending on how serious they are...you must bring it to a close before being allowed to play again. It is more to not have negative media attention around the game.

In Taylons case, the Panthers sacked him.

So then if he was just terminated without his contract being paid out, which I'm assuming happened, he could sue Penrith for the value of his contract maybe.

No doubt he's done something, iv no doubt he hit his Mrs. But according to the law he's innocent.
his charges weee DROPPED.. his partner did not want the matter pursued .. we live in a country with a legal system and taylan is not guilty and is now able to pursue a career .. I really do not understand all the people that want to throw stones at others .. let he who is without sin cast the first stone and all .. I hate domestic violence and want the book thrown at guilty offenders.. let the man pursue a career and grow up and have support around him in order to learn from all of this

He was found not guilty because witnesses (incl his ex)were no shows...who knows whether it was $$ changing hands or...?
The beak waited an hour before he dismissed the case
Id expect Richo ,as the smart operator he is,to have his signature on a contract already subject to contingencies of the court case outcome...which we just mite have funded ourselves??
Next issue is how match fit he is..Im guessing he hasnt been near Concord(not a good look if things went awry)...but if signed, our training staff shld have given him a very clear plan to be match fit asap.I doubt he wld be Haynes 125kgs!
He may(pardon the pun) be available slitely earlier than Makasinki in July

Well, sue the NRL I reckon, as could De Belin,- the clubs are only undertaking NRL policy direction. Not clubs fault, NRL fault through their policy position.

Just pointing out that info.

He's had some interesting posts over the past few days.
I honestly think he's considering a re-brand, but not what you'd expect.
it looks like he's going to try his hand at music.

No sensationalising anything.
the court system is flawed.
Maybe his new club has told him to clean it all up and stay off it , also if he was going to do music he has had 12 months to start , I would punt a $ 20 he plays again for us or another nrl team ,

Yeah, it's a tough one, I get why the N.R.L use it as a policy. The only problem is, in an instance like this charges are dropped, or they're innocent after a trial. An innocent person has their career potentially ruined.

So the fact that the Police dropped the charges has done nothing to appease one side of the discussion.
Who the hell knows what actually happened.
Normally, every comment on a sensitive topic like this is always prefixed by the word "allegedly". Not here.
The double standards in our society are a real concern.
If the Police didn't drop the charges . . . the cops mind you, not his ex. Otherwise we'd have the sleuths suggesting she was paid off or threatened . . . we might have found out more. But as it stands, even with my limited legal understanding, he's a free man with no charges to answer.
Happy to be corrected of course.

We should be red hot favourites to sign him up

We've got the cap space and the roster spot free. His brother is already here and loving Benji.

He's in our arguably our most needed position too. An absolute stroke of luck it's worked out this way - I'd be surprised if he signed elsewhere.

Totally agree
No-one will ever know his guilty or otherwise..a lot of these he said/she said issues are difficult
What I do know is if we proceed to sign him,his contract shld have a very tight lead as he not exactly citizen of the year based on past form
But he also a bloody good centre, which we desperately need without losing our own moral compass

I'd be surprised if there haven't already been some sort of prelim talks or conversations that have gone on. Hopefuly big brothers influence/presense at the club, and another shot at his dream can get him in a good headspace. Stroke of luck it's worked out this way as you've said with both of the May brothers really...
