OFFICIAL Taylan "Tiny" May

Have you ever had an out of control family member? Do you think it’s as simple as keeping them in check? If they are a lunatic, they will still do what they want. The big red flag to anyone that thinks he would be a good signing is that he was willing to throw away his position in the best team of this generation, to go out and carry on like a thug. If he’s willing to do that at a club like the Panthers, we have no chance of keeping him in line.
It can be as simple as having family member who they trust to keep them running a line!

Most behavioural issues should be addressed by the parents. Expecting the school teacher to take on this role is crazy. Okay they can assist, by suggesting programs that may be helpful but parents have to take ownership of their children’s behaviour. I know this is not always easy for many reasons, like a family relationship break down or maybe mental health problems. If a parent is struggling than they need to seek help as there are agencies out there that can help.

Why is the responsibility of the education department? In saying that, have a look at the PDHPE Curticulum document, and you'll see it is in there to be taught from ES1 right through

I am a teacher. In NSW, the curriculum is so overcrowded, and people want to add more and more to it. Mental health and cognitive disability are both huge issues in public schools. As is behaviour. Teachers are still leaving by the score. And it's not the money. It's the burn out. I'm at work today. I'm hoping to leave before the game starts, but its not looking good. I spent 6 hours here yesterday, just trying to get the paperwork done.
Yep. Schools are required, legally, to be responsible for more and more to a ridiculous extent, at the whim of one consultant or bureaucrat. The training? Inadequate. But just give the teachers a pay rise and as a consequence, let them figure it out because they're now being paid more.

I used to date a teacher and she had the same complaints.

I think the answer is to outsource the extras to TAFE or similar. You would know better than me, but there may be room to remove things from the curriculum. Cut red tape. Just seems over the years every part of society is suffering from stacking on more and more. More rules, more curriculum, more information, more emails and work.

Enough is enough.
It's the people at the top looking to 'streamline' and save $$$. Cut a staff and pass their responsibilities on to others...and if the others don't like it, they'll eventually leave and be replaced by someone who doesn't know better.

What this now has to do with Taylan 'Tiny' May, I don't know.

Some idiot blaming everyone else for his low IQ.

And yet there are many who would claim you are paid too much - ffs. I taught in tertiary education for years face to face 48 weeks a year and most Saturdays and Sundays were spent marking. They wonder why people are leaving in droves.

Parents man . Hard to teach kids how to adapt to society if you don’t have the tools . The cycle of abuse , the shame of speaking out . It’s not just abuse as well . It’s unfortunately proven that a lot of lower socioeconomic classes , where a lot of footy players come from , are less educated and lower IQ , neuro- developmental issues , so with the advancements in technology and offshoring of jobs , there’s less and less jobs at the lower end of the spectrum . So now you’re talking the cycle of never ending welfare , and scrounging for money , drugs etc .
It’s easy to sit and say “pull yourself up by the boot straps” but if you don’t know how … even little things like how to save money . Or it’s impolite to walk in front of someone . It’s not everyone obviously , but yea. I know from experience that it’s not until you’re much older , that you think “how do people know that ? Like was there a lesson on adulting, when I skipped school for the day ? “ and the answer is it’s not one lesson but a series of minor corrections parents and your bubble make around you , that shape your behaviour . And rarely is it a Brady bunch moment where dad sits you down and puts you straight .
I'm a bit of a boxing fan and if you read about the Waters brothers, Paul Briggs etc you'll know exactly the terrible affect dysfunctional fathers can have on young lives. I think the May brothers suffered a similar upbringing, having watched Terrell's video of their father. If you're not that well equipped anyway and your old man is a relentless moron, good luck! Terrell seems to be a fantastic story of redemption in my opinion. There's a bloke that needs to be recognised.

I agree but the school system is out of date

You started out saying this culture business is bullshit, then went on to explain how you built a culture, whether you like it or not.
You say, from reports, May sticks up for his mates. He beat his wife! WHAT?
Good teams don't take a punt on loose cannons because they're disruptive. Storm let Smith go for a reason, Manly and Warriors let AFB go for a reason, etc, etc. Dickheads bring teams undone.
Appreciate your opinion. What I described isn’t culture it’s a bond between players who all happen to be from differing cultures. How Twal lives his life would be vastly different to how Bula lives his life. I’m talking about what binds them on the park. Maybe your right it might be a subculture.

Allegedly, I don’t know the legalities but he wasn’t found guilty. Your claiming his guilty when a court hasn’t. Assuming he did do it, Is a person not entitled to a second chance or are you saying he wont change or learn from his mistakes. I don’t condone violence towards woman and find it abhorrent (just for the record). But I believe people are entitled to redeem them selves and become better by learning from their mistakes. I don’t know enough about May and if this behaviour towards woman is known or repeat behaviour then i would be against signing him.

Good teams are and have been littered with players who are alleged bad boys and have been successful, all because of the bond (subculture) they have on the park.

They weren't beaten, they were dropped. Domestic and family violence is a very tricky thing.
Yes I agree family law is very tricky but May is now in a position that he has no way to clear his name. In the eyes of the legal system he is innocent as he has no case to answer.

Ok
Can you imagine Taylan fully fit and playing like he did at Penrith in that game today , speed , speed , speed , high quality centre , sign him up now , innocent , nrl have said go for it , and the nrl is bigger than our club to take a hit if people don’t agree ,
u can bet that some other club will sign him and we will have egg all over our faces AGAIN

Our club is going well. You don't sign the quality of recruit we have last off-season if you are bumbling along from one disaster to the next. Imagine being the Knights, tied to a hugely overpaid player signed by a coach who most likely won't be there when their cap is in dissaray.
