OFFICIAL Taylan "Tiny" May

Someone tell this kid he'll make more of a career playing footy than making music.

The genre he's going for has already somewhat fallen off and it won't take off outside this country, if it all.

I’ll tell him ,,. You think he will listen to me ?

Thats exactly the issue I suspect and the Players Association may be less than happy with that because he "wasnt proven guilty"....
He shld be paid what hes worth...$600k was his salary at Panthers, which is similar to Olams..and thats what he shld get
Cant nickel and dime him
He should be paid what the market is wiling to pay. While he was no guilty in court, there are still actions around it that would concern a club.

They play opposite sides don’t they ? Toa is alright for now . He’s just a placeholder for Makasini . So what’s that , 2 years away ? 2027ish?
I think he’s signed up for next year as well. He’s fine I think . The real issue is AD . I’d love to keep him for selfish reasons , but I honestly think there’d be a super league team who’s gic him top dollar to go win them a challenge cup .
I think it would propel his career . Go there for 4 years . Travel the world whilst he’s young , come back at what 28 years old . And now he’s in his prime to take over a team back here .
I don’t think he’s an nrl half right now . But he’s not really a centre either . If I was advising him, that what I’d be looking at for him .
In saying that if we could resign him I’d snap that up . Especially if we got Taylan May . I’m just not sure how pumped he would be to be in reserve grade . I’m not even sure if he’s beating out an in form Brent Naden .

They do play on opposite sides but I don’t care at this stage. Toa laziness and inconsistency has cost us far too many times. He, along with some fools on here, lives off one or two great games a year and you can’t have that kind of inconsistency in your first grade team. It’s a shame because I think he has the talent and skills but you cant teach effort.

I’d take a one armed Taylan over him this stage because at least I know what I’ll get every game which is effort and solid defense at the minimum (something Toa severely lacks on a consistent basis). Makasini will be eligible later this year and from what I’ve seen, he’ll probably debut this year as well because he an absolute beast. Toa was a pretty much a reserve grader at Newcastle and that’s what he should be here.

Agreed about AD, big fan and happy to see him playing well after all the setbacks. But if he wants long term security and the opportunity to play in the half’s, ESL is the way forward for him. I think he’s doing a fine job at centre but if we have a chance at a May and Makasini centre pairing, I’m taking that over AD.

3 spots in the top 30 just waiting, so hopefully something gets sorted out shortly. We could easily use more strike out wide and theres the Riff connection already. Giving the opposition defensive headaches is a good thing.
Also depth being tested early and its a long season....
Come back to footy kid, no future in Aussie hip hop, leave it to Lebron.
Leave it to LeBron🤣💀

AD is 27 this year... don't think he'd be coming back after 4 years in Super League.
He's our best centre at present and kicking a heap of goals.
Can't see us pushing him out just yet.

Reading between the lines on snippets from others on here of his form; I'm not that confident Makasini is the centre messiah we were all hoping for? Doesn't seem to be setting the world on fire in KOE. It sounds like he needs to get some aggression, position play with his defence. Time and coaching should sort that out but IMO later rather than sooner? Makasini is no certainty for this year, and if May arrives, maybe next year? He's still going to school!

Pay him what hes worth...but put him on a short leash in case he continues to be a serial offender and drags the club down with him
Were not the only interested party, and his $$ shld reflect that

Yep, he's 17.

Has been playing under 19's. Will probably move to Flegg when Ball ends.

Heamasi will come on in time. Supporters of this club, and I'm not immune to this at times myself, talk too soon about the capacity for kids to have an impact on our first grade successes.

It's not hard to see why; we're a success-starved fanbase who're crying out for some improvement and hope for the future and the juniors with a good reputation is generally where we place that hope. The other area we've traditionally placed our hope is in new signings, particularly each-way bet signings that many of us have been bullish of in the past, despite the obvious, and likely, potential to disappoint once they arrive... Rattle them off - Blair, Reynolds, Rochow, Leilua, Tamou, Bateman, etc... the list goes on.

He's an amazing prospect. But don't expect to see him on Tuesday team lists for a while.

Our next big step as a club is learning to keep our juniors where they belong for longer. And I think that will come as we continue to build out the top squad.

It's on the way, but a while to go yet.

Is he 27 ? Shit I thought he was 24 . It feels like yesterday we signed him back from Souths at 21. That’s my point though . It’s not pushing him out , it’s saying he’s going to be lower in the depth chart if May comes in and hits his potential .
I can’t see AD wanting to be 19th man every week .

My concern is , does he want to play this year , is it him holding off signing or are the tigers holding off , or the big one is our offer not good enough for him , 3 big questions with no real answers

His worth isn't just based on what he can do on the footy field. The club needs to consider potential brand damage. He's no longer worth what the panthers paid him.

If the club is seen to be "giving him a chance" rather than a key squad member on a big wage, then that is a clear way to keep potential damage at arm's length. Based on his social media, he is a risk. You can't short-lease his private life.
