Taylor controlling Richards kick offs

I alluded to this last week. Seems like BigPat has been told you must do the meat and potatoes kick offs.

Lets not try and use the weapon and get the ball back.

No wonder the body language is average if he is exerting this type of control.

Tackle 5 - Richards helicopter grounded

Wests Tigers fans might have noticed that Pat Richards' popular 'helicopter' kick-offs have been few and far between in recent weeks. Last year under Mick Potter, the Tigers were deploying the tactic on just about every re-start in a bid to regain possession. But new coach Jason Taylor has crunched the numbers and actually realised the kick-offs were less effective than they seemed, resulting more often than not in opposition teams starting their sets in ideal field position.

Taylor is being too conservative in his approach , just let them play footy

Load of bs. Anytime you try and compete for a kick off its 50/50\. Im stuffed if i don't know why teams don't employ the tactic more often. Taylor is an idiot whose squeezing every bit of life out of this side. Its almost like he's on some kind of sabotage mission.

It's round 17 and we are persisting with dud tactics that not only stifle with their predictability but have NEVER yielded success.

I'm all for experimenting, but it's called Trial and Error FFS.

Taylor had better to trial something else or someone else will.

Come this time next year he will be in panic mode as the drums will be beating
" JT to face the Sack " will be the headline in the papers .

The worry for me is….....i hope the Board identifies whether he is the right man for the job before they allow him to sign the players he wants before they realize that his Coaching methods just doesn't work for the players we have .

Some of his Coaching tactics this year has a lot to be desired .

Taylors a knob , we used to have the most flamboyant attack in the comp .
He's trying to turn us into the roosters .
1\. We don't have a massive forward pack
2\. We don't have experienced halves ….

With Wests Tigers Taylor has certainly had his share of trials which have resulted in a multitude of errors. Round 17 has arrived as has time of reckoning. So far this year his coaching has been in line with someone who is teaching a team of novice kids. He can only expect to be a certain time of continuing at this level. It is now time to test whether he can step up to the next more satisfying level of coaching.

That is the frustrating part fans can see what's going on :brick:

Fully.
If he employs the same drab tactics this week and we lose then I think even the most compassionate Taylor supporter will be fed up.
We as Tigers fans have been VERY patient over the years. But there is a difference between being patient and being a sucker. Over it.

With the high spiralling kick offs if we didn't get the ball back, 99% of the time they were deep kickoffs and we were getting to the player either just as they catch the ball or before and contest it. How is that giving it to them in worse field position than a 30m run off the kickoff ?

Pattys spiralling kick offs were working well I thought why change it..
Should go back to what was working and see what happens..
The position we are in now something has to happen or we will get that SPOON thing..

If this is true - it is ridiculous.
One of the most under utilised attacking weapons in the game and we have an ace player with an awesome boot.

We should be using this whenever we can.
JT is an A Grade Clown.

So Taylor doesn't think the tactic works off kick offs but insists on his halves bombing from the halfway? Why does he see it as a good tactic in general play but not off the kick off? It's the same concept.

You would think the plan would be for Pat to kick-off as least amount of times possible rather than relying on them to get the ball back…..would be more beneficial one would think..

So has anybody asked Pat why? No? I did'nt think so. Another rumour given credence by the gullible Taylor haters. Ho Hum.

You need to put points on for that to happen

I might be wrong…but I thought you kicked off after having points scored against you apart from the mandatory start to a game or after half time......I would be stoked if Pat only had to kick off once a game....think about it....
