Taylor no longer sole selector

Did I miss something .. Siro out and well no one…

And I thought the Siro dropping was because Siro Snr came out and put crap on JT

David Gower. Surley we can do better then a 31yr old backrower who has spent most ofvhis career playing nsw cup. If thats the case buckets should give up unless he is for nsw cup then its ok signing to provide experience andcwork ethic but i couldnt see him making our top side and with the props we have coming through im not sure hed make the top 30 squad

Was going to say the same thing. He's solid enough, but on the downward curve of his career, and not really a high impact player or a workhorse.
I hope we're aiming a tad higher than that.

Otherwise, appreciate the insight TT, as always.
It does seem as if we are slowly getting our act together off the field in terms of recruitment and selections, and it does appear the top 4 target for next year is something they are taking seriously. That said, we are a hell of a long way off that mark right now.

Hi Guys just a few brief tidbits to help 'inform and enlighten' discussion.
Taylor now selects team in consultation with entire coaching panel and final team is vetted by Mark O'Neill. You will note the team selected is now finally beginning to resemble our strongest available 17\. For example 2 changes were made by O'Neill last weekend!
Sirro was not dropped because of spite in point of fact Paul Sironen was informed prior to his son's dropping that the coaching panel was reviewing his performance and it was likely he would be sent back to NSW Cup. His match stats were poor, though his potential remains high. Taylor does still rate him; he is not on the huge dollars many people think, he will not be forced out but is free to explore other opportunities. O'Neill on a mission to prove he will not be swayed by frienships / loyalties.
To his credit Taylor is handling these changes reasonably well - he doesn't really have a choice, his job is well and truly on the line.
Expect more offloads in coming weeks.
Cherington as previously stated is off to Penrith if Farah stays in 2017 - decision imminent.
Liddle now rated better option by coaching panel.
David Gower now a target with salary cap costings set aside to secure him for 2017-2018.
ET will be signed for 2017-2018 with money that had been set aside for Klemmer / the balance of these funds may be enough to secure Gower, but at this stage Parra are $40k above our offer.
Moses & Brooks will take up 1 year extensions / have been offered $100k less than option extension per year for 2018-19 i.e. $500k p.a. No serious offers from other clubs. Both waiting on confirmation of coaching staff for 2017 - 2019.
Taylor will definitely not be here in 2018, they would both prefer he wasn't here in 2017, but there bargaining positions has been greatly diminished by their poor form in recent weeks.
As mentioned in pre-season reports and subsequent updates JAC is something special and can still be secured for $300k for 2017-2018 - $120k / $180k. But he wants an assurance that he will be considered every week for 1st grade, not a guarantee but an assurance. Melbourne have now offered in the region of $320k for 2 years. Its a 50/50 bet because the Tigers have been slow to realise his untold potential - when he truly gets match fit for 1st grade you won't believe what he is capable of. He has made every member of our entire squad look second rate in training with his attacking prowess, but is currently pacing himself to last 80 minutes.
Just about every player in the squad is being assessed for goalkicking ability, nobody really stepping up. Moses groin problem is not as bad as reported.
Simona may not play this weekend against the roorters due to injury, giving Rankin a reprieve.
Still a cohesive tight knit unit with up to 10 players from the squad now attending regular prayer meetings. Do not believe the prophets of gloom and doom with hidden agendas this is now a club prepared to be accountable both on and off the field and all alibis for failure will be withdrawn from next year!
New board has reaffirmed top 4 kpi for next year / minimum 50% win rate remains kpi for this year.
Nothing else credible to add, just rumours, but the facts from where I sit still remain encouraging.
Don't jump at shadows; don't be afraid of the dark.
TT.

Encouraging - we have the talent to be in the top 4 right now- Cronulla are - somethings rotten - but thanks for the info - - the proof is in the pudding as they say. But don't take me my word - I'm a Nevile Nobody. And if you think Cronulla has a better team than us - then please ignore this post.

Why the hell would we want a Plodder like Gower

It's good to know the Crow's are pecking at the Scarecrow !

I find it to believe that a decision has already been made to move JT on when he still has time to time to get us to the cusp of the 8\. If that's where we were able to finish that is beyond what most would have expected. And if we were to sneak into the 8 next yr, he's still a goner?

Like the idea of Gower being on the bench, he is still pretty quick for a big man,got a offload and can ball play a bit.In saying that we have young guys coming thru like JJ and you do not want to block there pathway to the NRL

Once again thanks very much for the update TT. More good information once again to digest. Hopefully the club pulls it's finger out and re-signs JAC. I'm not seeing any junior talent that looks more promising than him.

David Gower? No doubting the bloke gives his all and has a good workrate but I'd be looking to invest those dollars in someone like Esan Marsters/Bayley Sironen. We're just starting to see a really good balance with our forward pack and I'd be looking to invest in Felise/Tatola/Marsters/Sironen as far as forward prospects go. I think Kharwin would go alright in the backrow if he can get his discipline under control and improve his fitness.

If JT is not going to be here for 2018, is there any talk of who may be considered? I'm assuming Payten would be one option…Toovey another?

Hopefully the team continues it's upward trend in form and stability.

I do not like this post at all even if it shines some light on the internal workings of the club ..who is TT what is his position ,what gives this person the right to talk out of house .When I read and digested the entire post there seems to be an underlying theme JT, well believe what you want if I was the boss of this organisation Mr TT who ever they are would be looking for a new job . You see loyalty to ones bosses is invaluable to an organisation does not seem to much here .

I see where your coming form with this.

Whilst its good to have information from a supporters point of view ( and this info have proved accurate) you wonder about whether it should be in the public domain.

Good post Willow - Bayley Sironen definately - but I think he's a shoe in already.
Toovey - in John Lennon's words - 'Imagine"
Who else but Toovey
If Taylor does well in 2017 then why wouldn't he be with us in 2018 - just a hypothetical? It sounds ridiculous. Like we make the top 4 in 2017 and then they want to boot Taylor -
let's just join the circus

All the talk about the coach is because of where we sit on the ladder.

They wont be booting the coach if he makes the Top 4.

Guess the fb page will find out soon enough then. I'ts probably Buckets himself under cover. Don't sweat it.

What amazes me the most is the fact that our gun halves have it in for the coach seemingly. Gee, I would have thought they owe him big time given his patience with them.

Thanks TT , much appreciated .

Hope anyone from our Club that may read this Forum realize just how desperate we are at retaining Addo-Carr , make it happen please .

The other thing that will be interesting is the decision that Farah decides to make ? as Cherrington will go to the Panthers if Farah decides to stay on next year , surely if Farah loves this Club so dearly he will go to England and play in the ESL and not allow a talent such as Cherrington leave his beloved Club just for staying one year to long…....but hey this is Farah we are talking about :unamused:

exactly - so why the plan in 2018 - sounds infantile - someone please explain - not you guy's - the board - where do you come up with this garbage!!!
Thanks TT - sounds like we're going in circles - nothing new

Sounds like our Rookie halves get the final say on wether Taylor stays ….
(Ringling bros circus )

Although I'd be stoked to see Taylor get the chop.

Gower gets through his work and is one of the better offloaders in the game. I'm not too worried about him blocking any pathways. There are always a few injuries. I suspect no one will be holding Felise back.
