Taylors favourite quote

Well we all knew Sheens fav

""We wanted to win they had to win""

or was it

" they are reasons but were not offering excuses."

Taylor has sunk even lower with his favourite quote…..

"You guys are looking at results, ladders and all that we are after strong performances and we got that tonight"

So basically doesn't matter if you win boys just do your best. Does not matter if you come last. Fair dinkum thats a pathetic mindset for an NRL coach.Same as Sheens we seem to lack desperation to win. I know were not the strongest side this year but I hate listening to the coaches talk like this. Potter at least used to say no excuses we have to be better and had 1 million injuries.

The culture of mediocrity and lack of accountability will live on under taylor. Good squad or bad squad I just think it gives the players an easy out when coaches talk like this.

I thought we went ok tonight with half the backline being reserve graders plus Farah and Woods out and a rort with the penalties - still no reason to be happy .
I wish Taylor would show some passion .
Ricky Stuart would have copped $10,000 after that second half penalty count !

That right there is everything that is wrong with the man, those that see it get it. Those that dont will argue the merit of his statement.

I've said before but I'm dead serious, if the attitude is "results don't mater" I want a refund on my membership.

At this level of sport its a very hard quote to take seriously.
You do usually here European soccer soccer come out with these types of quotes when there team plays stylish football but loses the match. These coaches don't tend to last long. Professional sport at the highest level is about doing everything to win. I don't envy the squad Taylor and i think it would be tough to make the finals. However his whole mindset of being conservative, same path, same tactics. performances more important then results. It is drivel of the highest order and a kick in the guts of supporters.

Exactly. He is the worst rookie coach I have ever seen. The truth is that he can only improve and hopefully he will however he has been terrible.

He needs some coaching on how to deal with the media and the fan base as well.

I pay $400+ a year on my membership which I've renewed since 2007.

Why am I paying if it doesn't matter about the ladder or results? I don't even know what I'm meant to be appreciating in a performance. We conceded 28 points to a team who is equally poor. We squandered a decent halftime lead.

For the coach to come out and say it was a strong performance makes no sense whatsoever. Explain to us what a strong performance looks like and I might be less critical. At the moment, I just feel like I'm being 100% taken for granted as a full paying member

Please don't wish that on us

It was a real good performance , but just proves what I have said

We have so many deficiencies defensively its just a matter of time till they find the one that will work

Taylor can only pick the best squad available each week a squad that many thought would get beaten by 30

They were in it for 73 minutes , really copped the wrong end of the pineapple on some calls and had 12 less sets in attack and missed less tackles

How many players from the Round 1 game weren't there ??

Brooks ,Farah ,Sironen ,Woods , Simona and no Nofoaluma as well

I didn't re-up my membership this year as a result of the Potter sacking and shedding of players without re signings. I watch every game and won't sign up and pay $$ until we sign some players and actually act like a proper team.Sadly this is a few years away and I don't want to take my 7 year old to watch us get flogged each week.

The fact we will likely receive the spoon and can't sign any players due to the salary cap is a flat out lie.
We are being deceived and if you choose to pay and support this team MUCH RESPECT you are a bigger fan than me.

Taylor is serviceable at best. That said this team is not good enough and needs reinforcements. We will run bottom 4 again with the same team next year. What worries me is its all part of a 3 year plan for when we are under NEW OWNERSHIP.

"Theres still alot of improvement left in us"

"We learned alot of lessons out there tonight"

"It wont happen overnight but we're getting there"

"its tough"

I get the feeling of deja vu every week when JT opens his mouth

What makes it worse is he isn't even a rookie coach. He has been head coach at two previous clubs.

He is so boring and predictable.

We could get beat by 40 and the words that would come out of his mouth would be something along the lines of "The boys are only young and learning, we are in a rebuilding phase blah blah, we were good in patches".

We need a tough as nails coach but instead we'll be stuck with this fruit loops for years
