Taylors favourite quote

I thought we went ok tonight with half the backline being reserve graders plus Farah and Woods out and a rort with the penalties - still no reason to be happy .
I wish Taylor would show some passion .
Ricky Stuart would have copped $10,000 after that second half penalty count !

It was a real good performance ,

We have so many deficiencies defensively its just a matter of time till they find the one that will work

Happy stop making excuses for him in this regard.

His whole mantra coming in was his defensive system. He said it was all to do with system not players.

He said it would be easy to turn around the defence and bagged previous coaches.

Seriously, the coach needs to lift as well as the players.

We is not sounding so bullish now about his system. it was really smug how he bagged former coaches and it is coming back to bite him now as he find different ways to say sitting in last place that we are improving.

Honestly its becoming excruciating to watch his press conference. I honestly am not not sure he beleives what he is saying. If he does its a worry.

Please don't wish that on us

It was a real good performance , but just proves what I have said

Taylor can only pick the best squad available each week a squad that many thought would get beaten by 30

They were in it for 73 minutes , really copped the wrong end of the pineapple on some calls and had 12 less sets in attack and missed less tackles

How many players from the Round 1 game weren't there ??

Brooks ,Farah ,Sironen ,Woods , Simona and no Nofoaluma as well

You speak too much logic for this forum.Taylor is getting them to dig in every week (yes even last week against the panthers)the problem is we have no outside backs or backrowers minus my mate rowdy(who is slowly becoming our Anthony Watmough just like I said he would when everyone else wanted to assassinate the guy).

Taylor realises that change is not going to happen overnight but it starts with your team turning up every week. Which we have done. Heck I know we got smashed by the panthers but we were winning 6-0 when Tim Sim went off and they just relentlessly attacked Kyle Lovett.I don't want Taylor to be judged on this year but where we are this time next year. Have faith guys Taylor will turn this franchise around. :sign:

I wish I had the optimism many have of Taylor. A good coach is able to use the tools he is given. The up & in defensive structure is extremely frustrating to watch as the Tigers do not have the size to make the first contact stick. I can not think of any player that has improved under Taylor. It has been a real disappointing season.

Lawrence,Ava,Sue…...have improved......on last year......

We would have lost this game by 50 last year. You blokes have short memories….

Of course results are important, but instead of whinging about the refs and finding excuses Taylor chooses to focus on our performance and some of the gains we are making. Seems like a logical stance given that he is working with a young group who have heaps of areas to improve in.

At this level of sport its a very hard quote to take seriously.
You do usually here European soccer soccer come out with these types of quotes when there team plays stylish football but loses the match. These coaches don't tend to last long. Professional sport at the highest level is about doing everything to win. I don't envy the squad Taylor and i think it would be tough to make the finals. However his whole mindset of being conservative, same path, same tactics. performances more important then results. It is drivel of the highest order and a kick in the guts of supporters.

Exactly. He is the worst rookie coach I have ever seen. The truth is that he can only improve and hopefully he will however he has been terrible.

He needs some coaching on how to deal with the media and the fan base as well.

What makes it worse is he isn't even a rookie coach. He has been head coach at two previous clubs.

You are correct Taylor is far from a rookie coach he is just incompetent.I was warned by supporters from souths and parra before the season started what i was in for as they had the dubious pleasure of his coaching. It is even worse than what i expected

He is just trying to keep the hounds awa(the hounds being the media). I mean what can he say, certainly not the truth,"hey guys it was tuff out their tonight,we had a team half full of state league bench players,a winger who has no idea under the high ball, the officials were diabolical and we are stone motherless broke and can not fix any of our problems"

He can not tell it as it is,so his spin is all about trying to make through to next year regardless of results

Eddie nailed it. JT was happy to come in and blame potter and sheens for all the problems in the club and was super confident predicting that he would turn around the defense instantly with his scheme. That talk has all but disappeared now and we are left with comments like "long road ahead" & "trying our best".
The club has gone backwards with JT at the helm.

I pay $400+ a year on my membership which I've renewed since 2007.

Why am I paying if it doesn't matter about the ladder or results? I don't even know what I'm meant to be appreciating in a performance. We conceded 28 points to a team who is equally poor. We squandered a decent halftime lead.

For the coach to come out and say it was a strong performance makes no sense whatsoever. Explain to us what a strong performance looks like and I might be less critical. At the moment, I just feel like I'm being 100% taken for granted as a full paying member

$400 would be better spent at the bottle shop mate .. You've been ripped off !

Squaddy ,can I come to the bottle shop with you,$400.00 will get us plenty to drown our sorrows…they might even throw in a couple of free WESTS Tigers stubby holders...they would probably glad to give them away...sales for that item have been very, very slow...

the team tried really hard but the refereeing was so biased, badger should be embarrassed.

Taylor should have fired up and gone the referees. If he had,he would feel the anger supporters feel.

bob fulton would have run a cement truck over him. thats the kind of passion we want.Tommy would have run out and bitten the referee.

not taylor.

i was undecided about taylor but not now. he has lost my support,if there was a referendum.

Souths and Parra supporters? They must have short memories. He took both those clubs into the top 8

Last night wasn't a bad loss in and of itself, it is within the context of 7 other losses that it gets bad.

Taylor should have fired up, that was not a good enough performance.

If we calm down a little, it is true that we basically got done from a few Radradra bombs and too many ruck penalties. That was the difference.

But in the context of 7/8 losses since ANZAC Day, it's not enough. We needed to stop the penalties, we needed to attack the kicker more, attack the bomb more. Whatever we practice for bomb defence it does not work, we had the same trouble against Manly when they bombed to Matai, players just running about like headless chooks.

Two tries conceded from kicks, Tedesco's "try" disallowed and a poor refereeing performance. It is evident with Simona out, we can't defend down the right. Interestingly, I thought we were solid in defence on the left.

They were in the game, but I think they have forgotten how to win, plus if something goes against them, be it a ref decision or a lucky opposition try, they fall apart. When the stars align, this team plays some excellent footy, but if something is amiss, they lose every time.

Moses has potential I would hardly say he has improved,Ava & Sue(the most underrated player at the tigers)have been given more of an opportunity but you hardly can say they have improved. Lawrence is a $700000 a year player a long way off career best form, Taupau has improved from playing test footy.Teddy is our only true attacking weapon he is carrying the team & may have improved but I wouldn't put it down to Taylor.Players follow good coaches like Bennett,Cleary even Trent Barrett but no one has followed Taylor. Hopefully Taylor will prove me wrong but it is hard to be optimistic.

Simona plays on the left, but our right side defence sucks though.
