Te Maire Martin

TMM is highly overrated by many forumers IMO. For me he apears to be one of those players that may turn out great but will take a few years, bit like Thurston took a while. Dont get me wrong, i'd take him back for the right money to get rid of Moses asap and would hold high hopes he is better than i think he is.

He's a natural left player like Brooks which is a concern. Although he has handled the right side at Penrith ok.

TMM would be a terrific addition. Here's why
1\. He would provide a partnership with Brooks that would last years to come.
2\. He would provide a much cheaper alternative to Reynolds and others
3\. He has a 90% tackle completion rate, which is very high for a half (most are in the 75%-82% range. Moses is 75% this year)
4\. Excellent running game and would allow Brooks to organise the attack.
5\. Familiar with the Tigers club and players so he should fit straight back in.

6\. He is not Josh Reynolds

Wasn't one of the gripes of the dynamic duo that WTs did not agree to release Moses to the Eels?

The offer to Reynolds can only be to exacerbate the Dogs' salary cap issues. If so, great.

Gonna end up with 7 five eights for 2018 at this rate. Also the 700k price tag for matualino is waaaay off lol. Where do they pull these figures from?

Just like Taylor had a thing for hookers.

Maybe that was one of his downfalls…..paying too much attention to hookers bahahaha

No happy ending for Taylor.

If Martin returns to the Tigers it would be a fantastic result for the club. Like a few others, I was very disappointed that he was let go. Extremely talented with an excellent running and kicking game plus possessed of a cool head, it would be a real coup! In my view, he will be a real superstar as you don't get given NYC Player of the Year for no reason. Make it happen!

I believe Martin is by far the best option if he was available. I was hoping we could get an experienced 5/8, however there aren't many available.

I've been watching him closely since he was at the tigers and then when he signed at Penrith (mostly hoping he doesn't turn out to be a superstar).

Despite his size, he's actually a pretty good defender, nowhere near as dominant as Moses but more natural skills.

I'm really surprised that the Panthers would let him go.

He wasn't. Elgey and Ash Taylor beat him.
(Just being pedantic. I'd love to have him back.)

2 points. Griffin is a goose, flunked with the broncos, flunking with a strong squad built by Ivan, wrong about ET and wrong about TMM. This kid is a much more solid and composed player than Moses, and under pressure he has already won games for the panthers. Given their relative asking prices we are order of magnitudes better off with this move. When Brooks was playing well and Moses wasn't I was filthy we let Martin go. Yes he is young and small, but he is replacing a midget that has the mentality of a 9 yr old.

2nd point, given the fact Chammas seems to be a concord approved journo (one of the few), I'd say this is close to true, if not true.

Great post

Not sure about any of this. Martin and Reynolds? Thats a lot of money for Reynolds if thats true.
Not sure if the real game is off the field rather than on it at the moment.
Who are we dealing with in terms of Martins and Reynolds managers - they have really stepped out of the shadows during this whole process

When is he gunna fill out tho?
Still has the body of a. 16 yo

According to their player profiles he is bigger than Moses, Keary and Maloney and weighs the same as Josh Reynolds even though he is 4cm shorter.

Who to believe in these tumultuous times?

How can Roosters possibly sign Tedesco and be alright to keep a guy like Connor Watson on the backburner in reserves, just in case.

Mate trust me, it's true about Martin. Ive posted about it a couple of times previous to this. Im not saying he will end up here, but the day Isaac Moses requested a release for Mitchell Moses, there was an approach to Penrith by Martins manager about a release back to WT. As ive stated, he is on peanuts at Penrith.

Gus will not stand in the way of young guys who get offered good money.

The most interesting thing in the article for me was the fact Isaac Moses doesn't seem to mind talking to WT when it suits him.
Im a little surprised Mitchell is still requesting a release after the way he seemed with his team mates on Sunday afternoon.

Defense seems to be OK to me. According the the NRL.com stats, he has made 179 tackles this season with 20 missed (11%), compared to Moses who has 92 tackles with 29 missed (32%).

Appears TMM has a neck injury, listed as indefinite for the moment.

May not be able to step up for Moses.

I believe he had needles in it last week and missed the last game as a result. He will be fine.

I just had a look at Chammas and he has a good strike rate, reported the Cleary signing til the end of 2020 early and also Woods 4 year deal was reported much earlier than rothfield did.

Gee 2014 has a pretty good strike rate of NYC players transitioning to regular NRL…

Thanks for posting Mr tiger_one..
