Team After Bye

They've got some other options we could use too....

Chevy Stewart
Sione Finau
Sione Finau looked to be a decent NRL standard player with his limited opportunities last season.
Surely he’s not happy to have signed with the Raiders to be stuck behind Jed Stuart ?
Surely we are at least looking at a couple of mid season recruits who might be looking for better NRL opportunities tgat could help us.

Api back and Benji confirmed in the press conference Bula and Makasini may be available,

1. Jahream Bula
2. Jeral Skelton
3. Heamasi Makasini
4. Patrick Herbert (Reluctantly)
5. Sunia Turuva
6. Jarome Luai
7. Latu Fainu
8. Terrell May
9. Api Koroisau
10. Fonua Pole
11. Ethan Roberts (Keeps his spot, did very well on his first stint in first grade, out and out backrower, and keeps sione on the bench for impact)
12. Kai Pearce-Paul
13. Alex Twal

14. Jock Madden
15. Sione Fainu
16. Royce Hunt
17. Alex Seyfarth
18. Tristan Hope
19. Luke Laulilii

Finally some stability in the side if Masi and Bula back up, can see a win on the horizon with an awful bulldogs side, but nothing will surprise me with these blokes..

If we signed Sione Finau that would be very confusing 😂

If Bula,May & Doueihi are still injured after the bye then I would go with
Tino Tavana
Sunia Turuva
Starford To’a (One More Chance)
Heamasi Makasini
Jeral Skelton
Jarome Luai
Latu Fainu
Alex Twal
Ethan Roberts
Kai Pearce-Paul
Terrell May
Api Koroisau
Royce Hunt
Bench
Javon Andrews
Sione Fainu
Bunty Afoa
Fonua Pole
Mavrik Geyer
Jack Attard

Benji has to stop picking his favourite players & give other players including young players an opportunity while we have these injuries enough of these reserve graders, such as Heath Mason, Luke Laulilii, Patrick Herbert, Jock Madden, Tristan Hope & Alex Seyfarth.
Sione was horrible and missed a million tackles X dropped a lot of ball and generally was ineffective . People saying Benji picks favourites and then don’t pick the guy they dislike because of past group think . Seyfarth was good yesterday .- when he moved to the middle . He’s not an edge player anymore . But he was far better than pole and and Sione both in attack and especially defensively . Those 2 have simply dropped the ball since api isn’t standing next to them .

Seyfarts and Sione were excellent as 20 minute replacements early in the season.
That are not good for more than that, certainly not starters and certainly not edge players.
That's on Benji
What do you do when your first drop edge backrower( Sukkar ) plays soo poorly that you lose faith in him . And others like Seyfarth , as recently as last year have been capable of doing a job . The issue is the game has changed soo much that guys who you would call hybrid players , are simply just middles now . and the only place you make these realisations is in the middle of the game .
I thought Benji made 2 astute changes early which helped stop the rot . With the game getting away from the team when Mason got binned . He brought hope on , who was changing the line speed. And he moved Seyfarth into the middle and put Roberts on .
Olakuatu is in career form . I thought Roberts handled him as well as he could .

Hopefully Bula & Makasini are back.

1. Bula
2. Skelton
3. Herbert
4. Makasini
5. Turuva
6. Luai
7. Latu Fainu
13. Twal
12. Pierce-Paul
11. Roberts
10. Pole
9. Koroisau
8. Terrell May

14. Madden
15. Sione Fainu
16. Hunt
17. Seyfarth
18. Hope
19. Laulili'i

Go back to making metres in the middle & from early sets through Skelton & Turuva.

Latu is a much better option than Madden.

Herbert to kick.

Roberts is big & athletic enough to persevere with until Sam Fainu is back.

If Bula or Makasini are out- Lualili'i to wing & Turuva to either centre or fullback as required.

If both are out- Turuva to fullback, Lualili'i to wing & Tavana on the bench.

Nice try but Tavana? Toa? They should not be sighted in NRL again this year. Tavana is simply not ready. Toa doesn't put in and has burnt all his bridges.

1. Bula Bula
2 Turuva
3. Mad Max
4. Herbert
5 Skelton ( no brainer)
6. Luai ( will fire 🔥 up against his nemesis Galvin) hence work for his overvalued pay cheque
7. Latte
8. May
9. Happy
10. Pole
11. KPI
12. Roberts
13. Twal
14. Madden ( injured) scratch him...
15. Sioni
16. Hunt
17. Bunt or Punt
18 Tavana

Under the circumstances, this is the side I would pick.
I would NOT pick Latu as the half!
He has not shown me any managerial qualities or can play 80 min. I have only seen an average skill set. More hype than on field performance. The dreaded POTENTIAL factor.
Now the rant:
I don't think Madden and Luai are a good combo. Madden and Doueihi were much, much better.
IMO Luai stifles the attack on too many occasions and very rarely breaks the defence.
And Terrell May seems to think it is good not to be put on the ground and having a tussle with some of forwards while the opposition defences reset. A soft collision. Time consuming. Saves his energy for his defence, which is excellent. More tackles than any other prop. Is that what we want from a prop?
Pole is the opposite. Runs hard and has the collision and everyone on here complains about his defence. Someone needs to run hard at the line.

Left & right centre required now with Herbert 2 match suspension.
I am hoping Turuva right centre, Makasini left centre with Skelton and Laulil'ii on the wings.

Turuva is needed at centre and he held his own defensively earlier in the year. Right edge of Latu, KPP, Turuva and Skelton will fill me with more confidence than what we have had out there the past couple of weeks.
