Have no idea on backline but McKinnon, Brown and Ryan arent first graders at the moment and Lui should be told to find another club asap.

Time to bring them all out. Lawrence, Tiquiri, Utai, Marshall and Payten. Use a ton of elastoplast, needle them up and get out the tiger balm. If we drop this one on Friday night, good bye 2011.

Good side. With Dywer out, maybe it will be the right time to throw Ayshford into the 2nd row. Although, when he does, I think a better backup than Payten, struggling with an injury, might be warranted.

Sheens, Make it Happen!!!

Maybe Watto now that we have our full compliment of outside backs we are better off with Lui or Miller . We haven't seen Miller with our full strength side outside of him yet .

Fletcher and Sheens seem to have coached out alot of his poor decision making that plagued him over the years so he may well be an option worth looking at.

However I think Sheens views Miller in that long term slot

If Miller plays can we please let him play his natural game and not leave him out of all the decision making, fifth tackle options, kicking etc?

It's hard to know what the side will look like with no information from the club regarding who is fit and who is still injured. Perhaps when the team is named tomorrow there will be 'some' idea of who is available and then look at what the run on team might actually look like based on the list of players posted by the club, yes I know this mightn't be a totally accurate list either :bulb:

Not sure whether I would be throwing Payten straight back into the side. He is no spring chicken and has been out of the game for a while now.

2 x 15 minute stints off the bench would be the go Start with Woods (as he is a more traditional front rower than Fifita )and bring him on to replace Woods or Keefy

What better way to use my first post than telling Sheensy and co where they;'ve been going wrong. :blah

Here is my team list for the Parra Game and explanations:

1. MCKINNON (or Moltzen/Brown if McKinnon is injured)
2. RYAN (or Simona)
3. LAWRENCE
4. AYSHFORD
5. UTAI

6. MILLER
7. MARSHALL

8. WOODS
9. FARAH
10. GALLOWAY
11. ELLIS
12. FAFITA
13. HEIGHINGTON

14. GIBBS
15. MUDOCH MASILLA/GROAT
16. PAYTEN (would start him in the 2nd row if he wasn’t underdone)
17. BROWN/MOLTZEN/FULTON

Notes:

i)I have Marshall at no 7\. The best 20 mins of the tigers season were when Marshall took over at no 7 when Lui went off during the Warriors game. He has to take the reins and lead the team forward and around the park until we Miller gets a bit more experience. When the team is in trouble you give the best player the ball more often. I actually think 7 is his best position (where he plays for his country) and I don’t know why we don’t hear more on that. If not then Miller at 7 and Marshall at 6.
ii) With various players leaving I want to see Sheens blood a few of the young forwards in anticipation for next year. I’d like to see Ben MM play a lot more game time and develop his fitness. Obviously Sheens rates him very highly but to be honest he’s never done much to excite me. Time for him to get more game time and step up. Likewise I’d like to see Groat play a few games here and there to give him some more time on the field before 2012\. Its also the reason I have Woods starting over Gibbs. I’d even be tempted to bench Fafita and start BMM for 15 minutes.

iii) others - SIMONA unlucky to miss out but Ryan gets a nod because he is one of the few getting better the past few weeks and playing with good passion.
MOLTZEN – could be in as 17 but he has done bugger all in attack or defence all year. I play him at fullback if Mckinnon is out. He started out as a great utility option but now looks equally bad anywhere you put him. I’d give him a few more runs and a chance to pick up his confidence, otherwise if he keeps going like he has been I would consider releasing him.
LUI – I have no place for Lui in my side. Besides being woefully inconsistent, even when he doesn’t miss a tackle his defensive impact is so poor he get dragged for metres or gets in the way of the 2nd tackler. His defence is beyond embarrassing and he moves like a geriatric patient.
FULTON – a very good work rate in defence and a real “tryer” but he’s too small and lacks impact as a forward and isn’t quick enough or elusive enough to be a half or back. He’s a great 17th man/utility for mine but not enough penetration or potential to warrant a regular run.
MCKINNON - had a nightmare game the other week but he's the best fullback we have by a country mile in terms of safety, positioning and supporting the ball runner. Brown is safe but cant break a tackle. We cant have Ryan, Brown and moltzen in the team. One is ok and 2 at best but you cant have 25% of the team made up of blokes who lack impact.

TBone, I agree with many of your points particularly in relation to Lui whom I would like to support but he hasn't supported himself for a while now so he needs a reality check, I'd be surprised if sheens moves Marshall from 6, in any case given the half and five eight usually play on opposite sides of the field it probably doesn't make much difference as Benji should get the ball when he wants it over Miller (if he plays). Simona has been going well for his size and experience, if he gets a look in WTs shouldn't suffer (if Utai doesn't return). I was critical of McKinnon after his very disappointing last game but as you have said he is the best option at fullback, Brown is another choice but hasn't hit the same straps as last year IMO. I would stick with Gibbs as a starting prop for his defence early in an important game with Woods making good impact when he comes on.
