Been a few years since i made the track out west, any tips on parking?

Park on the other side of Luemeah Station Sirro…short stroll over the Railway Bridge and you're there...

Id say Halatau & Edwards would be way before Aloioi for a bench spot….when are these two due back?

Defiantly Edwards Ink but he is a few weeks away I think. I'd say Lovett will be competing with Lovett and Chee-Kam for a spot on the bench while Edwards would be competing with Aloiai

I think you are right Sirro around Hunt and Rankin.

I'd say Sue will move to prop at the 20/25 min mark when Woodsy and Grant come off after starting at lock with Aloiai coming on at lock and Ava at the other prop. I think this is what we will see in the season proper too. Really interesting to see Aloiai on the bench.

I think we will see the halves mix and match over the night given Brooks is out Round 1.

I'll be interested to see who is in NSW cup team tommorrow - as I'd say a couple of bench spots are still up for grabs and they want to see some blokes play more minutes in NSW cup

I think this combination/rotation is on the money. Once Edwards and Halatau are match fit things may change slightly but for now this forward pack looks alright.

I'm interested to see where Chee-Kam ends up given he played centre last week but is more of a known quantity in the backrow.

I think both may be on the field in one grade or another by round 3 with a bit of luck.

I was hoping to see Jesse Parahi named. There was an article this week saying that he was named in the first trail but rolled his ankle and was hoping to get a run in this game. I guess the S&C guys haven't given him the all clear yet..or he's down in the peaking order in the State Cup trail.

Have to agree on most of the above comments regarding the inclusion of Lovett over other players. Honestly cant see why Taylor keeps persisting with him, ok he can tackle but he couldnt bust a grape and has no real offload. Would much rather see Griffin , Graham , Chee Kam in his place instead. I will be pretty disappointed if he gets a bench spot over these guys for round 1\. He must be Taylors chauffeur or something lol.

I was scrolling back up when i read this so read it from the bottom up if that makes sense. Soon as i started reading i thought ''well this will be about Lovett'' and sure enough. His role as the forum whipping boy is well established already this yr. See his offload to set up Chee Kam on the weekend? Wasn't bad for a guy who doesn't have an offload. He set up a try against Manly the same way last yr. Definitely does not deserve the mud that gets thrown at him.

It was a fairly hail mary type pass but still, he tried it and it stuck so can't fault him. It looked a bit random though.

Lovett needs to improve though, he just doesn't do enough. His defense is quite poor but I do think he copped plenty when he was forced to play in the centres where he just isn't an NRL quality centre. Way too slow.

I wouldn't be surprised if he improved out of sight though. He should put on some weight and become a prop imo. He's got many of the qualities a good toiling prop has but as a backrower he just isn't dynamic enough.

I can only go by the pictures on the website but Kyle looks a little bigger to me than he did last year, looks to have filled out a little. I recall reading somewhere, on the website too I think, that he had the best record in terms of effective tackles made per game or his record for effective tackles was very good anyway. A lot of what he does goes unnoticed unless it's an error and then, of course, it is highlighted. Not saying he's terrific but he can do what he's asked to do quite well. He and Lawrence will do as much (decoy) running off the ball as they will with it and they can play 80 minutes if needed too. So there's reasons why he might be picked as well as reasons he might not be picked but that goes for almost every player especially forwards.

A rapid rise for Aloiai

After last weekend, he will be fine. Second best on ground to Hunt and I'm glad JT is picking players who perform.

No doubt alot of the Reggies and a few 20's will back up for the second 40 with both teams playing fish in the second half.

Hopefully this continues for the season proper.

I'm really liking the look of this starting line up (With Brooks at 7).

Our bench needs some work but throw in the likes of Edwards, Griffin, McChonnachie and Chee-Kam and all of a sudden our 17 doesn't look to shabby.

Griffin is close, but Madness is a while off.

I had know idea that he was our most effective tackler. I knew he made a lot and go all day. When people describe Melbourne as a team with stars surrounded by robots.. Lovett would be one of these effective robots that goes about his job.

I make the trek from the inner west all the time, parking is a breeze. I usually park on the eastern side of the ground in one of the residential streets. Even on the odd block buster day your never more than a five minute walk. The only time its a problem is on Monday nights or Friday nights, and that is the peak hour drive to the ground and not the parking

The players in the run on side I'm most interested in are Littlejohn at 7, Hunt on the wing and Grant as a starting prop.

Wouldn't mind if only one of them kicks on and the other toils away in state cup.

Possibly a bench looking like this:

14\. Cherrington
15\. Ava
16 Ailaoi
17\. Griffin

Then we have Halatau, Chee-Kam, Edwards, Graham, Felise waiting for an opportunity in lower grades. Depth in the forwards all of a sudden isn't looking to bad. Even the backs look to be ok this season

Did Madness get a run in the last trial? Hasn't played since that local nines game or whatever where apparently he was best on field.

Would also much rather see Griffin get a go instead of Lovett, he can play anywhere in the forwards.

Halatau must be injured.

No Chee-Kam or Graham?

Or Addo-Carr and Parahi.

I expect McConachie, Griffin, Chee-Kam, Addo-Carr, Dallas Graham and maybe JJ Felise will be added to an extended bench if they come through the NSW Cup/NYC trials.

Happy to see Aloiai named at 15.

Weird that Rankin is wearing the 6 and Moses the 18…

Not really…Rankin is 1/3 the player Moses is...so the numbers stack up

They need a pre-season hit out with the guys who are going to be in the team come round 1 to work on combinations, so I don't think it's a surprise Jesse isn't there. He'll get more development value out of bigger minutes in NSW Cup anyway. He was never a chance of playing round 1…
