Team Announcement: NRL Trial vs. Storm

By all reports Jesse Parahi has a big motor. Going off how coaches spread their forwards these days.. I would have thought he would have been a edge forward ,rather than a middle forward. He seems to have a similar build to Melbs
Kevin Proctor….maybe it's just the hair.
I guess 13's come in all shapes and sizes these days.

Clubs are allowed to stream trial games, anyone know if this is being shown on the net? I am keen to get a look at McConnachie

No it won't be…Storm are hosting this trial and aren't streaming it...

Looks like it is an opportunity for alot of guys outside the top side to show their wares.

I suspect that Sue and Ava are in NSW cup, as they will definitely be in the side Rnd 1 and he wants to see how all the fringies go, will also allow Sue and Ava to help out the kids in NSW cup who have a very young side.

I'm also surprised with how strong a squad is coming to Qld… Was thinking 4-5 mainstream players and the rest Reggies/NYC.

Taylor is looking at options? 😛ray:

So players who have not been named to play last week or this that come to mind:

Teddy
Sirro
Woods
Halatau
Edwards
Ballin

The first two had significant off season surgery didn't they? So assumed is just precautionary.

What's the story with Woods?

We know the last two are injured. I recall someone saying that Halatau was injured, but was that confirmed?

is anyone from the forum going? Would appreciate a match report if so, don't trust the glossy official ones.

Watto will be in JT's box…

Anyone know if Kurtis Rowe is still with us. Rowe showed a lot more than Milone ever did. Fine is also another one missing for the game who could make the step up if needed.

Rowe is no longer with the Wests Tigers…Burleigh Bears I think...

Fine is named at 5/8 in the State Cup trial team...

Zero Tackle says Rowe has been released from the Tigers and is playing Queensland Cup (although it doesn't say what team he's playing for).

Cheers Geo. geez you can keep up with this stuff well. You're all over it

Is Fine becoming the new Sitaleki? Centre, wing, backrow, 5/8\. Great to see his utility value but far out i kinda fell for the bloke. He just seems like one of those guys who busts his guts but just isn't in the first grade coach's plans.

They were actually concerned that Halatau may need surgery , haven't heard anything more though

Robbie Farah to step up for Wests Tigers against Melbourne Storm after brushing All Stars

All Stars no-show Robbie Farah will run out for the Wests Tigers in Saturday night's NRL trial against Melbourne on the Sunshine Coast.

Farah had initially been picked to feature in the World All Stars side that will tackle the Indigenous team on Saturday night at Suncorp Stadium.

However, the hooker withdrew because he had won a ticket to see Monday's Super Bowl 50 in the US. He reportedly paid $15,000 in a charity auction to win a seat at the Super Bowl played at Levi's Stadium.

Farah instead will don the Tigers' colours at Sunshine Coast Stadium at Kawana Waters this weekend after being named in a strong squad that also features recruits Jordan Rankin, Tim Grant, Josh Aloiai and Jesse Parahi.

Ten players from the Auckland Nines last weekend — including other off-season signings Josh Addo-Carr, Michael Chee Kam, Rod Griffin and Jack Littlejohn — have also been named.

"I'm really looking forward to seeing a lot of the guys play, in particular some of the new recruits who will get their first run of the year this weekend," Tigers coach Jason Taylor said.

"We've done some really good work in training with plenty of opposed sessions, which aimed at putting us under the pressure of game situations, but there's nothing like actually playing an opposition team.

"Coming up against the Melbourne Storm, who are strong side, will give us a much better feel for how things are going."

I'm glad JT has selected 3/4's of our spine. For the first trail game. There will be a fair bit of pressure on these three players this year. The more time they have together in a game situation the better.
