Team vs. Melbourne

We know Sheens won't drop Doueihi, and like a loud voice at 1, but I'd go against that thinking

1. Tupou
2. Ken M
3. AJ
4. Naden
5. Staines
6. Brooks
7. Wakeham
13. Papalii
12. Blore
11. Bateman
10. Klemmer
9. Api
8. Pole

14. Laurie
15. Stef
16. Twal
17. Joffa
Love the backrow but would actually think they could swap positions depending on what you want. I think Blore is coming on nicely and could be an interesting 13. Bateman would be a good 13 if the coaches decide they are doubling down on ad lib footy, which I hope they don't. As you have it it's pretty balanced, IP a well rounded player and I think he's been OK for us - Parra used him very differently (I.e. well)

Yeah stef and twal should swap starting to bench, stef in his first year was so much better coming off the bench, since he moved to the starting side he's plateaued

I was thinking the same thing about swapping roles

I saw you had Tupou at fullback as well. He is a big body who can catch the high ball. It's not a bad idea. I just think Staines was pretty good for us and deserves another go.

It'll be interesting who gets picked at 13. IP and Bateman might both show us something different from that spot but I also think Pole was pretty good last week.

I’d have Doueihi at fb in D (our end)
And swap with Staines in attack / good ball.
Probably Toa on a wing - or someone who can shift between centre / wing.
I can’t see Kenny coming back proper… been busted for 3 years now.

Or Doueihi to bench and coming on in the middle before half time…

And no Twal
Many many many years ago I can rememeber an extremely undermanned Western Suburbs target Parra when they were switching between Paul Taylor and Peter Sterling between 1 and 7 in around 1983 ...Wests won in probably the biggest boilover of that NSWRL season

Perhaps another Westie fan can remember the game / year ...think we won 13-2 or 11-2 from memory

@innsaneink would surely remember the game ??

Too many running halves and doesn't matter which combination you put together

Douehi @14 maybe ...Brooks and Wakeham 6/7 ...but then who kicks ??

1. Staines

Yeah I like that, worth a try. Could put kapoa with tupou and ken on a wing if he's fit.

Twal and ofa feel like the same player ..I'd swap one out for simpkin and give Api a short spell off

Kepaoa is not a winger. Centre or 2nd row is his calling.

Its very clear Wakeham needs to start from this week and moving forward.

Sheens needs to stop this 200 passes a day bs and start training them to run the ball and RUN STRAIGHT. Those 3 consecutive tries came from good strong runs, not 20+ passes sideways.

Wakeham needs to start. We’ve looked dangerous twice this year
1. Trials with raiders
2. Second half against the dogs
Both off the back of Wakeham generating plays.

If you watched the press conference Sheens said he liked AD at fullback so he'll be there a bit more.
He also said he liked Wakeham at 7 with Brooks at 6.
He also refused to talk about Nof. so it looks like reggies for the Nof.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Nof is trying to force a move, I know he isn’t the best footballer but even by his standards he is tanking.

1. Staines

17. Twal
This is how I would call it too but, Sheens won’t run without someone to cover Api. It’s possible Brooks could move the and AD to 5/8 with Kepaoa to the centres. The other issue is Ken good to go? I bloody hope so.
