Gavet what a joke do you really think he will be playing NRL next week ! Think not… honestly I just wish a bit of honesty with all is the way to go. If he won't be back until round 20 so be it! just say it who cares . This rubbish of teasing supporters with obviously false statements is a joke the guy is ready or he is not!!! I am glad they are not diagnosing me.

Have you ever thought they are being honest with us….and you can't handle the truth......where have I heard that line before.....

Just back from the game, was a good game The Blue bags were in the game right up until the last few minutes.Their winger raced over in the coroner without a hand being laid on him only to run around and try improve the position and out of nowhere a Tigers player grabbed him and held him up

Santi was great,Moses is class. Rowe looks like he may have picked up a bad leg injury

Rowe looked like he might of done his knee. Has carried off by the trainers. Akoula also came off with a leg injury. Moses was classy, although got stream rolled in defence a couple of times.

Couldn't believe the radio call when they said the Jets payer easily crossed the line but in trying to improve his position was able to be held up, I'm aware that the Jets have some huge units in Willis Meehan and Kane Evans so it must have been a pretty committed team effort to restrict them to just 3 tries, I'm sure I also heard Toutai Moga's name called, I thought he was after a release to join the Titans or am I confused with someone else?.

Santi is progressing well. Today he played to a level that would make him a strong chance for first grade selection.

Match Report: NSW Cup Round 15

Wests Tigers’ NSW Cup team has extended its winning streak to five games with a 32-16 victory over Newtown Jets at Leichhardt Oval on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts had a number of late changes with James Gavet and Marika Koroibete both ruled out, but welcomed the return of Joel Luani and Inno Inosesio as they led from start to finish to emerge with a 16-point win against a tough Newtown lineup.

Wests Tigers struck first points in the fourth minute when a good cut-out ball from Kurtis Rowe found Jy Hitchcox on the wing, who did well to stand up his man and then accelerate to plant the ball down in the corner.

Mitchell Moses missed the tough sideline conversion to leave the score at 4-0.

After back-to-back penalties, the visitors soon hit back through Samisoni Langi in the right corner, which went unconverted by Arana Taumata.

That saw the score locked at 4-4 with 20 minutes left in the half.

Rowe went off with an ankle injury shortly after that try — forcing a back-line reshuffle from the hosts — but they soon adjusted to the move and quickly responded to Newtown’s try through the returning Inosesio.

The powerful forward charged on to a short ball from Luani close to the posts, before spinning and turning to plant the ball down in the 28th minute.

Moses added the simple conversion to push the score to 10-4.

Newtown tried to target the playmaker as he launched an aerial assault on their outside backs, and they were repeatedly penalized for late tackles. That gave the hosts good field position to score more points, and they soon did after a sharp right-edge move saw Hitchcox send Asipeli Fine over in the corner.

Moses added the extras from the sideline to push the score to 16-4, which is how it would remain at the main break — despite late chances for both teams.

Wests Tigers quickly picked up where they left off after the main break, with a wonderfully worked scrum move allowing Hitchcox to send Keith Lulia over in the corner for his third try in his past two games.

Moses couldn’t convert the try — leaving the score at 20-4 after 45 minutes.

Newtown quickly hit back through Kurt Kara in the 52nd minute after a good 80m movement involving several players. Rhyse Martin then added the extras from the right edge to reduce the margin to 20-10 with 24 minutes to play.

The margin was cut even further in the 60th minute when Heath L’Estrange put Taumata over under the posts following a good run from dummy half.

The conversion from Martin saw the score read 20-16, and send a few nerves through the Wests Tigers’ camp after holding a strong lead earlier.

However, the 10-point buffer was restored shortly after, with Lulia beating two down the short side before flicking to Moses, who sped away from his man and came around to score next to the left upright in the 64th minute.

He then converted his own try to push the score to 26-16.

The visitors would threaten to score again late but would be unable to crack Wests Tigers’ line. Setefano Taukafa crossed for a late try to push the margin out to 16 points once more following Moses’ successful conversion, and extend their winning streak to five in a row against a very tough opposition on the day.

Final: Wests Tigers 32 def. Newtown Jets 16

Sila has a lot of raw potential.

He would be interesting as a project.

Remove the fact that he would be coming in to Koro's slot because that is an unfair comparison at this stage of the game. Sila had some very handy NSW Cup performances for the Dogs

Here's hoping the change of club does him good Smeg. Wouldn't be the first time the light switch gets turned on with a bloke due to change of club/environment.

I was at the game….Santi didnt get onto the field for ages but had a wow of a game...was everywhere.

Moses again a cut above and man they were smashing him repeatedly...tough kid and not that small either.

Rowe looks gone and with Koro also gone if someone goes down in the backs there could be a newbie to fill in...maybe Hitchcox.

The Wests Tigers continued their great mid-season form, recording their fifth victory in a row with a 32-16 win over Newtown at Leichhardt Oval on Saturday.

The Tigers were out of the blocks early when winger Jy Hitchcox scored in the left hand corner finishing off a great backline move using an overlap then brushing off a defender close to the line. Five eighth Mitchell Moses didn’t convert and they led 4-0.

Newtown levelled it up in the 18th minute through centre Samisoni Langi going over in the right hand corner in a near-perfect repeat of the Tigers’ try-scoring play and halfback Arana Taumata similarly missed his conversion attempt to leave the score 4-all.

With 12 minutes to go Tigers’ replacement Inno Inosesio crashed over near the post after they got a repeat set courtesy of a penalty in the Jets’ 20m zone, allowing Inosesio to charge over from close range. Moses converted to put them ahead 10-4.

Seven minutes later Tigers’ centre Asipeli Fine crossed in the right hand corner after they worked their numbers well in the 20m zone & he managed to slice between defenders from 7m out to plunge over. Moses’ conversion gave them a 16-4 lead at half time.

The Tigers were back on their game early in the second half when centre Keith Lulia scored in the 5th minute following a great backline move where he was able to get around his opposition up the sideline and touch down in the left hand corner. Moses couldn’t convert but they were now leading 20-4.

Seven minutes later Newtown five eighth Kurt Kara crossed in the right hand corner after Langi sliced through the right hand centres inside his own half, making 30m before finding teammates in support and Kara eventually finished the movement off. Replacement Rhyse Martin converted to make it 20-10.

The Newtown resurgence continued when Taumata scored under the posts six minutes later backing up a great break from hooker Heath L’Estrange. Martin added the extras to put them right back in it at 20-16.

With 16 minutes left Moses crossed out wide after Lulia spotted some thin defence down the left hand side and slipped a great ball to Moses who had room to move up the sideline unopposed from 10m out. His conversion gave them breathing space at 26-16.

Hitchcox completed what could have been the play of the game five minutes later holding up Jets’ winger Tautau Moga in-goal after he went over unopposed out wide then tried to sneakily improve the position for Martin completely unaware of Hitchcox’s determination in a one-on-one matchup.

This seemed to have the desired effect of stemming Newtown’s momentum while boosting the Tigers as numerous Newtown raids on the Tigers’ line went unrewarded.

The Tigers wrapped it up right on full time when winger Setefano Taukafa was put through a gap by a superb pass from halfback Michael Stevens off the back of a scrum 10m out and he busted through another tackle before carrying a defender over the line to score out wide. Moses added another goal to give the Tigers a well-deserved 32-16 victory at full time.

This weekend the Tigers will once again be at home, this time at Campbelltown, when they host Mounties while the Jets return to Henson Park to host the Roos.

Wests Tigers 32 (I Inosesio, J Hitchcox, A Fine, K Lulia, S Taukafa, M Moses tries; M Moses 4 goals) def. Newtown Jets 16 (A Taumata, K Kara, S Langi tries; R Martin 2 goals) at Leichhardt Oval.
