After last Sunday with the bomb attack, we will see the same this weekend. Seriously what is he thinking??
It’s not hard, Skelton to the wing turuva stays at fullback! NFI= Benji.
He has lost any semblance of reality!

Not really. Turuva carries the ball forward a lot when he is not FB. We needed that on the weekend. Mason maybe the weakest link but at least he is a FB.
I think it’s a fair team, we will get more out of Turuva this way.

Melbourne will win by a cricket score because we simply do not have the depth to cover injuries to Bula, Doueihi, Koroisau and Fainu.

However, that doesn't excuse the selection of Mason who has played no more than 2 or 3 good games at fullback in his entire senior career. Laulilii or Herbert would be better options. Mason is not up to standard.

I think Mason maybe there for his speed and footwork.
I know he is horrible under the high ball, hoping he can make up for any mistakes by scoring a few for us

Right hand centre and winger absolutely terrible defensively and have both been shafted ✅
Turuva not enough input from fullback so moved back to his best position winger ✅
Sukkar replaced by our best right side 2nd rower and put on bench (not dropped) ✅
Sione must be a better left side option than Sukkar so given starting position.
Mason at fullback has more experience than our 2 other young guys.
I don’t think Benji could have done much different.
I think we will struggle against the Storm but at least all the players now know they have to perform or go and introduce yourself to the reserves coach ✅

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Heath Mason has not played a single game of cup this season at fullback, yet is named at fullback in first grade?

Benji has lost it, completely setting him up for failure.

I agree it’s making it very hard for Heath to succeed when he has only played a very short period at fullback on NSW Cup all season.
But Heath is a young man who played done very good games at fullback filling in for Jahream at the back end of the 2024 season and I sincerely hope he makes the mistake of of this opportunity as he has been shoved into playing different positions and played really well on Saturday to earn his chance.

I would have had Luke Lualilli at FB & Skelton on the left wing...

But Benji obviously got something with Skelton at present. Blokes not getting a run.

Mason in attack is quick & deceptive. Goal line defence will be the issue.

His hands aren't terrible. Let's hope the white headgear makes him play like Jye Gray

I don’t think it’s a bad thing for a fullback to play numerous positions. Probably helps with understanding organisation of the D, tackle technique and fitness. Hope he causes Melb a bit of grief with his acceleration.

Maybe Benji is saying.... Heath - you are the same stature as those 2 South Sydney fullbacks...... get real and snap out of it

Or he has taken a leaf out of the GOAT Wayne Bennett's book, and playing a bloke the size of a dwarf, so when we are lacking field position, we throw him the ball, tell him to duck into a tackle, and get the penalty for the high shot.

Then again maybe heath is playing centre and will switch with turuva.

The only reason I don't mind the mason pick is because ive been a big advocate of we need to find a consistent 2. 3. 4. & 5.
All year defensively they have let us down, we need to find what works best for the rest of the year and keep it consistent. That number 1. Position needs to be a fill in

If I was the Storm if target Hope around the ruck then 5th tackle kick to Warbrick.

Our forwards are much better. The storm halves are a yard slower this year. Honestly Grant is the biggest danger even though he hasn't been playing great. Forwards need to slow the play the ball so he can't get a roll on
