Yeah we had players from other clubs in the NRL falling over themselves to come join the Tigers didn't we Steve

I think we did. We got Ellis, Tuqiri & Blair. They were all reasonably big name signings at the time.

And how many of them are from the N R L ??

And no doubt you stuck the boot into him (Blair )

Just to be clear on this - your argument doesn't hold water. Same as your comment that players aren't getting paid by the club. Same as stating that Tedesco is getting screwed over.

It's all conjecture and opinion and in my opinion way too negative. You don't know the whole story and you don't know what goes through the head of players that are being offered contracts via our club.

Read through the thread At least two others have commented on players being owed money

I have never claimed to know the whole story Steve :brick:

I have just let the Forum what I know , which is correct

Too negative ….. do you live in fantasy world Not every thing in the world is all sugar and roses

I've seen first hand what happens Clubs want the maximum effort for the smallest amount they can get you to sign on the dotted line for ,while making you feel that you owe them the world for showing faith blah blah blah

You don't think that someone along the line during negotiations has said " Well Teddy , we stuck with you during your ACL recovery " We showed faith and loyalty in you to put you back in top grade ""The club has supported you during your entire junior career "Cmon mate your a Tiger , you don't want to play for anyone else "

Mayer has a tough job I understand that But saying contracts are progressing when the contract had been rejected doesn't cut it with me sorry

Take it as gospel the tigers have put forward a revised offer which is still way off the mark in terms of value. We run a serious risk of losing the kid to rival clubs. If this happens the blame will lay solely on the shoulders of Mayer and his circus

If it's alright with you I'd rather not take what you say as gospel when there have been more trusted sources saying otherwise.

The Dogs have already been costed out by the revised offer according to several Dogs supporters and the Roosters were never interested. For it to not be market value there has to be someone else offering more or else Ayoub and Tedesco are just making it up? More likely you are.

not so sure Mayer is solely to blame if this scenario unfolds, as he would only be offering what the board allows him to spend… My only critic will be the way he has played it.

i agree with pretty much everything you said on the last page, happy. holding down the fort by yourself as it were.

But, the predicament that grant finds himself in is that he is NOT prepared to pay overs for any player however good he is. If the Chooks can afford exorbiant prices for teddy, i dont see any reason why we should continue in that bidding war which will hamstring us for numerous years and almost certainly lose us many players not just limited to nofo and koro, but potential brown, seve and lovett in a couple of years.

You're right that it's the tigers fault that our cap is a mess, we are STILL paying gibbs this year. This is the last if im not mistaken, and i wouldnt be surprised if we backloaded Ellis' contract too. Add in Lawrence and Blair who are being paid big overs.

mayer's trying his best to make sure stuff like that never happens again here though, and that includes paying teddy an APPROPRIATE amount. which will be very competitive unless other clubs are giving it everything to get him (or 3rd party deals)

I'll take it as bullshit from a nobody on a tigers forum. Unless you want to say who you are and how you know then you can't be laying the blame anywhere. Also as long as Mayer thinks he is making the best offer for the club (and in reality it should be less then other clubs otherwise whats the point of developing juniors) then thier is no need for blame. With all the great juniors we have coming through one thing is certain if they all reach thir potential we will loose some

Agree with what you have stated. What's an appropriate amount?? We as a club need to keep pace with current market conditions and build a club around key players

is there a difference at this stage? he's not elligble for any long term discounts yet i dont think

i'd put him on a 3 year contract with KPIs in for 2016-17\. 400k next year sounds good though, keep in mind the cap will keep increasing up to 7 million i believe.

Well Mayer was happy to pay 400k which I consider gross overs for an under 20's player who is yet to play an NRL game..yet he doesn't want to go anywhere near that figure for a proven 1st grader.
No one would be complaining if Mayer offered appropriate amounts to the appropriate players instead he gets his mates to put out spin in the paper on a daily basis. What for ?

Grant Mayer how about instead of the usual BS you feed to the papers of "working hard" "number one priority" you tell us what you have actually offered in the "lucrative" contract. Then we can all make up our minds as to how hard you are actually working.

so you want our CEO to break confidentiality agreements (whether verbal or written) in order for you to know what's on the inside of the contracts. Which would undoubtedly ruin our relationship with tedesco who i would not blame at all if he packed up his stuff to leave for the dogs next week.

honestly, did mayer run over your dog or what? cant believe you're STILL having a go at the best thing to happen to this club's management in a long time, maybe even ever.

also who's this kid with 0 NRL games he gave 400k to? havent heard anything about this.

wouldnt mind some proof for 'his mates' going to the media about this tedesco stuff too, but obviously that will be very hard to come by. how convenient.

Why does this all have to be played out in the media ? **_Why can't Mayer and co show some professionalism_** and keep all these going ons confidential.

The bulldogs announce signings after they are done. Mayer turns the whole thing into a circus by getting on Twiiter and asking what Tedesco is worth. He now leaks a story saying they have made a lucrative offer yet no amount is mentioned and no confirmation from the Tedesco camp.

Someone from the board needs to tell Mayer there is no guarentee Tedesco will resign and leaking stories to the media will do more harm than good.

I completely agree Fumbles … Whether we resign Teddy or not ... Mayer hasn't handled himself or represented the club very well at all.

Here is a few more that have lost a dog.
