According to the telegraph,Tedesco's contract is held up because of our option on Sirro, who is reportedly on $350k,and trying to offload BMM will solve their cap problems,so what I ask is what is BMM on.

Surely not? Sirro would have signed his current contract before he played an NRL game.

BMM apparently is on Pretty big Coin, I like him as a Player but, He doesnt seem to interested. Probably another one to the Sharks.. We must sign Teddy though Cant see how Sirro would be on $350.

Exact opposite actually…besides repeating what you read in the newspaper you are the one that has shown to have little knowledge about what is actually going on at the club.

I've got the popcorn ready…So Irvine, when you muster up that brilliant intellect, please astonish everyone here on the forum and highlight exactly what little knowledge I have as to what is occurring at the club :unamused:

lol, if Tedesco along with other players weren't paid for their services, there's no reason why Brooks/Farah/Woods would have signed. Could have left and been much better off. There's also no reason why Tedesco would even be considering the Tigers if they are in that much trouble. Let's be real.

You'd think that this would be obvious wouldn't you. Seriously.

Cool off people. He either signs or he does not. Let us all wait and see.

This is also how simple it is. I really hope he stays but its his choice.

thought we resigned him middle of last year. $350k is a bit much, but that could include KPIs or be what he's getting in the last year of his contract or something

Contract was announced April 2012.

http://www.weststigersforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=12282&p=285142

Made his debut mid 2012\. Wouldn't have thought he would have signed on for that much before playing an NRL match, stranger things have happened though.

why would players not be getting paid given the **NRL covers the entire salary cap with 7 mil handouts to each club every year**?

unless the club used that money on other stuff (highly doubtful) players are getting paid.
\
\
and add in what black orange white just said too.

anyway, well just wait and see what happens. hopefully something comes out next week (potter seems to think it might  )

I'd suggest most clubs Players Salaries are in excess of $7M once you factor in exemptions and stuff… They are now heading into the $10M a year category!

$10m, you must tell me what all these exemptions you think there are that adds almost $4.5m to the base cap.

It depends how smart they are really, but here is a breakdown:

$6’500’000 Salary Cap for 2015…
Plus
$1’000’000 for long service [say 5 players x $200’000]
$600’000 Marquee
$440’000 Outside Top 25 NRL
$100’000 Car
$100’000 Tertiary NRL [approx.]
$250’000 NYC
$50’000 Outside Top 25 NYC
$35’000 School Fees NYC

$9’075’000 per year…

It will only go up, and the NRL grant is well short!

The long service csps at $300k as does the marque allowance.
The only other thing that doesn't count is education, which caps at about $7k per player.

If the amount is right (and big IF) this was an option on his contract in the clubs favour. He was an up and coming star and it was only an option. It was expected he would be a quality player by now and despite his injuries he has played rep football last year and shown he is dangerous across the park. Also given with all inclusions the average salary in the NRL is 320k and this includes approx 5 blokes on around 100k - then $350k for Siro next year is about right

I think many people forget just how much the salary cap is now and that as its still on 25 players so not only have the salaries at the top of the range gone up but so have the mid range and younger players. Also you never sign a 3 or 4 year contract on what has been done before but on what you expect to happen (with some flexibility) in the next few years and with younger players you expect the good ones to get better so you pay them more 3 yrs down the track then in the first yr. Plus the cap goes up every year

exactly, so you can bring that 9 mil down to around 8 million. Meaning there's a 1 million short fall from the nrl grant. However, the club DOES actually have other revenue streams like from ANZ, sponsorship, memberships (not much here) and so on.

To say that the club can't make 1-2 million in a year is absurd.

also, the NRL doesn't _have_ to give the clubs money to cover the entire cap. I dont think the NBA gives clubs $60 million a year to cover their salary cap.

As a few others have pointed out the long serving player allowance is per club, not per player and we are still in 2014 so let’s not get ahead of ourselves, here is the breakdown for 2014

$5,300,000 Salary Cap for 2014…
Plus
$200,000 for long service [capped at $200,000 per club, not per player]
$600,000 Marquee Player Allowance
$440,000 Outside Top 25 NRL [Second Tier Cap]
$100,000 Car [maximum 5 cars valued at $20,000 each]

$6,640,000 …

Add the NYC
$250,000 Cap for top 20 NYC
$50,000 for all players outside the top 20 NYC
$31,500 School fees [per club]

That’s $6,971,500

And the Tertiary allowance is unlimited however must be approved by the NRL

The NRL estimates that the effective spend for each club is $7,000,000 and that would be just about right

Yes Willow.. I keep trying to do that but you conveniently keep deleting my post.

The question I asked was..Did the Wests Tigers train on Tuesday ?
You now have had a good extra 10 hours to research the answer….. did you phone a friend ?

What's the answer ?

dont really see how it matters, you can get this very interesting 'scoop' by driving down concord…

hardly the same as knowing anything about a contract negotiation that the press barely knows anything about. And even they have now changed their minds and are saying teddy will resign before the manly game.

Newsflash…they don't always train at Concord.
I just asked a very simple question. You would think someone who accuses a person of having no idea about what happens at Wests Tigers and just babbling nonsense would know the answer.

I could have asked something much harder like what hotel the players are staying at in Wellington .....but I thought I would just keep it simple.

your pretty good with this stuff, but are you sure long service is capped? I thought it is $200k per player and this is why the clubs are pushing the NRL to not have it increased, but make qualification easier (6years instead of 8)?

Seems crazy capping this exemption to only $200k. It defeats it actual purpose!

Marquee is definitely $600k
