Tedesco Thread || He's staying!

Work out the opportunity cost.
Rowe is hands down the worst in the NRL right now and fullback is such a damn important position.
Is there another great fullback lined up to replace teddy? If not then we need to forget about the financial aspect that we cannot afford Tedesco. Rather it is more that we just cannot afford to have games with a second-rate player with 1 on his back. It is killing the team.
Priority should be on the spine.
Thus, we should be offering Tedesco more money, even if this may jeopardise other signings.
He is well worth it. The opportunity cost is just too great.

I know Rowe isn't the same calibre as teddy but he has improved out of sight and I'm happy to persist if teddy decides to want more that we can afford under our cap…. As has been said before, handful of FG games doesn't automatically mean your worth a packet....

Sorry but I am completely unhappy settling for mediocrity regardless of $$. We all should be. Rowe is nowhere near first grade standard.

But what happens when we up our offer to whatever he wants, he gets injured each year, and we have a massive whack in our cap and Rowe still playing fullback.

That's fine….. Pay overs for a fullback whom can't string more than 4 games together.... Let him take up our cap space to the detriment of the team.... Brooks, Siro, farah and Moses will make any fullback with speed look good..... Sure I'd love to keep teddy, but not if it's for an amount that would push us to get rid of our depth.... We had that issue with benji, look where that got us....

Agree with the point that his is an injury risk but comparing him to Benji is a bit unfair because Benji is a club legend yet was a hack in his last few years. Totally different scenario for Teddy.

Yes, signing him on big $$ is a risk, but the reward could be great and the alternative is unknown as we have no plan B fullback (Rowe cannot be taken as a serious option if we want to compete at the pointy end of a season).

Yep I'm with you , would be a big loss no doubt but in terms of money they are paying solely on potential cause he can't stay on the field to warrant that kind of coin .

I say give tedesco until the end of this week to decide … He's had long enough ! If he goes use the money to buy a decent 5/8 . Anasta is crap & I think Austin doesn't have what it takes as a 5/8 for us .

So what's Mitch Moses? A turnip?

Better judges than anyone on here see Kurtis Rowe as a first grader.

I really think he showed a lot of promise tonight, he was committed to every run and didn't sit back and wait for something to happen, made some good decisions and backed up the play plenty, bit of time in the gym bulking up and he will be a good fullback. Let's not forget that he really isn't ready yet, he has just been thrust into FG because of injuries… If we are unable to retain teddy then Rowe will suffice and from what I see, grow into a decent fullback...

Just saw a snippet on Foxsports. The sticking point is not money but Tedesco wants a 3 year deal and the tigers want a 4 year deal. Doesnt sound like a big problem to me.

A lot of a "better judges" never say a bad word about footballers. I have seen enough of Rowe to know that his best game isnt quite at first grade level. Too many mistakes and a complete inability to tackle. Added to that he just doesnt have any "x-factor" that make up for the flaws in his game.

Apparently ennis is going to raiders as well. Raiders also chasing proctor and mansour.

If teddy ends up playing with ennis- I lose respect for him.

Looks like we should all know Teddy's decision within 24 hours from now. If the Fox report is correct (as posted on page 72 of this thread by Red Rugby) Hopefully it's not dragged out any longer than that.

I very much doubt Canberra would be offering ennis big coin .. More like a pensioner package
I've also heard Joel Thompson to quit saints and return to Canberra & Tom learoyd-Lars will go to the dragons … If tedesco goes I'd play him in nsw cup for the rest of the year & give Rowe more time in the top grade ... Just my opinion as I believe this year is still about giving the young blokes more experience .
