I'd lose all respect for him if he went to Canberra and wouldn't play him at all for the rest of the year. I can understand signing for the Bulldogs/Roosters with their amazing teams and coach, but Canberra? He's just a sellout if he does that.

Plleeaaee

If he went to the Dogs or Roosters you would feel exactly the same saying he showed no loyalty and took the money the richer clubs were throwing at him.

If Tedesco went to the Dogs I'd understand him wanting to play for a good club, and no doubt make good coin. If he went to the the Titans I could see a young bloke wanting to live in Southern QLD and get paid good money playing for a decent side. Likewise the Roosters, it'd be nice to live in Tamarama with a solid career ahead of you as Minichello's replacement.

Moving to Canberra could only be for the money. They're a rubbish team with a culture of appalling off field behaviour and a lunatic coach. Canberra's the most boring place in Australia and you'd have to be on stupid money to make it worthwhile. It's the football equivalent of going FIFO in the mines.

Looks as though people were putting too much stock into the Simona comment. If Simona did really slip up like people think this would have been done and dusted by now you'd think.

Good on the Tigers for giving this 21yo prima doña an ultimatum.. He is not worth $500k a season let alone $800k being offered by Raiders.. He has gotta ask why they are offering that much … His career will go backwards under Stuart and the raiders. If he is good enough the mega bucks will come at his next contract and he will only be 25... Get a grip Teddy...

Comments like that don't help and the idiots sending him abusive messages on twitter also help no one.
The Wests Tigers have had more than enough time to sign him yet they haven't. Why ?
Like someone else said his family is well off…I can guarantee you it's not about the money. Now they bring out that they offered him 500k..make it 600k..who cares.
He always wanted to stay. The question is why has Mayer not secured his signature ?
Why has this been dragged out in the media for so long ?

I reckon he's gone and as good as he is, (potentially) he aint worth 800k. Goodbye. I'd be happy to stick with Rowe for now and see where that leads with the rest of the year ahead. If Tedesco signs elsewhere, then I hope he ends up being our fill in fullback. Im not into greed. Im into club men and finally, now, we have a group of players that want to be part of the future - like Manly of the last 6 or 7 years & like Brisbane now.

So, it all comes to a head today and gladly so. I certainly want him to stay, but only at an affordable rate.

Maybe one of Harry's main Meriton contractors can turn up with a cheque for a TPA at the meeting to seal the deal.

Setting a deadline will bring things to a head.

We cant match Canberra's coin, but from all reports we have a reasonable offer on the table. I think he owes us some more match time and should sign with us for at least 1-2 years for the support we have shown him through injury. It would give him a chance to play with his mates and do something special. After two years, he can then put himself on the market and take the cash from the highest bidder if thats what he wants.

I would love him to stay, but if he chases the cash now and signs with Canberra, then I say bench him for the rest of the year. Return his loyalty and sit him out. We need to think of the future and give Rowe/Nofo/Moses some time to develop.

If you know something we don't tell us?…we can only pass comments based on what he hear in the media,

Totally agree…last year Tedesco was solid without being brilliant...this massive contract is on the back on his scintillating form in the pre-season, nines and first few rounds this year...with a full NRL season or so under his belt there is no reason Rowe cant be the same....

Just because the guy signs elsewhere there is always put him in the Reggies for the rest of his tenure , this thinking is just ridiculous .The club will only prosper with a competitive team week in week out and the end game is to finish as high up the ladder as possible to secure future memberships and sponsors.

I would be disappointed if he left but I would still play him in the NRL side, given his track record he would more than likely have another time on the sideline with a injury before the season ends.

Going forward if he signs elsewhere I think Nofo is the man for the fullback jersey. For mine Rowe can not break the line when returning kicks which is very important in the modern game.

This would allow us to keep Koro. He is awesome when we are attacking (I wish it was NFL you would get him on the field the second we have the ball and straight off when we don't), as a full time professional you would thing the coaching staff could work on his defensive play (get that half decent and we will have a top player).

The future of James Tedesco is set to become clear imminently, with Wests Tigers setting a Monday deadline on the fullback to tell them whether he will remain with the club in the face of a $2.4 million offer from Canberra.

Wests Tigers have been desperate to retain the off-contract 21-year-old, who struck up a wonderful combination with halfback Luke Brooks before suffering an ankle injury last month. However, their offer of $500,000 over four years has been dwarfed by a three-year, $800,000 per season bid by Ricky Stuart's Raiders, who are looking to overhaul their squad with several key signing targets. Tigers chief executive Grant Mayer is expected to meet Tedesco manager Sam Ayoub on Monday, with the Sydney club wanting an answer one way or the other as to whether the Wests junior intends to remain beyond this season.

With Canberra willing to pay over the odds to attract leading players, it may well be an offer that Tedesco can't refuse. It is understood the Tigers can't go close to matching the money dished up by the Raiders for next year, with no room to budge in the 2015 cap, although there is the possibility a new Tedesco deal could be improved by being back-ended for its later years. The loss of Tedesco would be a significant blow for the Tigers, whose fan base has been lifted by the promise suggested by the irresistible combination between the fullback and Brooks in the early rounds.

Having moved on from the Benji Marshall era, the Tigers have looked to secure a bright future by nailing down Brooks, another emerging five-eighth, Mitchell Moses, and more recently winger David Nofoaluma and utility Curtis Sironen to long-term deals. Tedesco was another important piece in that puzzle, but after interest from Canterbury their hopes of re-signing the Menangle flyer have been hijacked by the Canberra team with cash to burn.

The Raiders' ascendancy was demonstrated by the photographing of the star No.1 and Penrith's Josh Mansour, another client of Ayoub's, arriving back from Canberra last week in the company of the crafty player agent. The Raiders have also shown keen interest in Bulldogs captain Michael Ennis and Melbourne's Kevin Proctor. It is the decision of yet another one of Ayoub's players, Anthony Milford, to honour an agreement to join Brisbane that has freed up Canberra to have a red-hot crack at Tedesco.

The in-form Ennis is reportedly the subject of a two-year $500,000 a season offer by Stuart's men in green. He said on Sunday he was seriously considering where his future lies. Canterbury's acquisition of emerging Cronulla hooker Michael Lichaa for next year and beyond has left the former NSW State of Origin No.9 in limbo. ''Obviously, at the moment I'm 30 years of age. Obviously I love the club that I'm at but I've got a young family and I've got to make a decision,'' Ennis told Channel Nine. ''It's probably going to be my last contract. I just need to make sure that I take the time and make sure it's the right one and explore all avenues.''

Asked about the future of his partner in crime Tedesco on Sunday, Brooks told Triple M: ''I was telling him last night he better stay but I'm not too sure what he's going to do. Hopefully he does stay.''

Good work Mayer. Don't let it drag on but make a play for Mansour Can't pay overs for fragile players he hasn't put consistent seasons together yet

I have been told he was informing team mates.

Watch me be one of those guys who posts inside info that turns out to be wrong and look like a muppet though

Gutted if true, of course.

But lets please stop suggesting Nofo for fullback.

If Teddy is gone, Simona has to be our fullback.
