Tedesco vows to live up to hype at Raiders

How much do players get paid per Origin game? The difference couldve been made up right there. Had he stayed here I could definitely see him playing there in the next few years. The only rep jersey he'll get playing under Stuart is for Italy

They get $30k per origin game…..I can't see Tede$co disposing Hayne and playing origin the next 3 years...

Hayne is as much a tampon as Tedesco. Spends one week in, three weeks out. Most of NSW's fullbacks are injury prone - Dugan and Stewart have both spent more time on the sidelines this year than they have playing. After a few rounds this year Tedesco was my Origin smokey. Dugan and Stewart were both out and Hayne had a slow start to the season.

**Believe what you wish but these are the facts – 100%.**

* The club wanted to keep Tede$co…. That is why they offered him a 4 year contract. You don’t do that for players you don’t want to keep!.

* The money on offer was not spread evenly over 4 years due to our salary cap position. This is what annoyed Tede$co and his manager. This is a very common strategy employed by most clubs due to the nature of the cap and there is nothing Mayer could do to accommodate Tede$co’s request to spread his contract evenly..

* The Raiders offered Tede$co more per annum than the Tigers were prepared to offer, however, the Tigers offer over 4 years was more than the Raiders total offer.

At the end of the day these were the sticking points contract wise that could not be resolved.

However, I’ve heard Tede$co **had little intentions of staying a WT** providing he was offered a decent deal by the Raiders.... the intention to become a Raider was determined very early this year by Tede$co, his family and Manager.

This is exactly what I can tell if you look at the facts as you state excluding the point regarding his, his family and his managers thoughts however it may be true. All I know is that the club did to me the right thing by him.

Its time to move on however I see no reason to play Tedesco again.

That last point is definitely gaining momentum around the traps.

I also find it interesting that the players have been very quiet - even leading up to the signing I only remember Brooks saying something…..might of missed some though ...

So as of today Mansour has re signed with Penrith, proctor with Melbourne and Ennis looks like he will go to the Sharks. So out of the four big names Ricky only got 1, Tedesco. I hope the opportunity is worth it!

I actually saw a rumour online that McCrone was linked with Storm (God knows why). That would really leave Tedesco out on a limb. Does Ricky have a Rabbit under his hat?

Nope, Koroisau signed with the Panthers :roll

Koroisau would have been a pretty logical guy for the Raiders to go after, and i think Koroisau probably would have been better off there, seeing he probably would have been their first choice hooker, something he won't be at the Panthers. Instead, chase an over the hill niggler who was overrated in his prime.

Makes a lot of sense.

You don't rate Segeyaro? Pretty sure they'll be getting rid of Kingston and have a rotation of Koroisau/Segeyaro. Pretty good combo

Ah yep, makes sense re reading his post.

Except that he mentioned Ennis' prime. When did Ennis ever hit his prime?

Like everyone else I'm really disappointed with Tedesco's comments and yeah it does seem like a kick in the face to Potter and the team. I mean, if he was pressed by the media to make a comment, how hard would it have been to just say ' Yes, I'm really excited about the opportunity of playing under Ricky Stuart at Canberra next year, but right now, I am fully committed to the Tigers for the rest of this season and I would really like to get some serious game time under my belt and go out from here on a winning note with the WT boys'.

Because 21 year olds say and do stupid things they regret

We've ALL done it (me included )

How prophetic was that :roll

Happy - you said some absolute crap on this whole situation however the line about 21 year olds saying stupid stuff is spot on. He also made a really poor initial decision.

Steve the only comment I regret was the Mayer comment , which I should of sat on with 20/20 hindsight

Steve, I had a different view from Happy but I could always see where he is coming from. I disagree with your comment about absolute crap. There is no 'absolute' crap. We are all posting crap on here all the time.

Happy, re: Mayer. A good mate of mine happened to be at the Tigers office late last year. He witnessed Mayer yell at a staff member. To be honest, that's poor form in anyone's world. Mayer prob needs to be accountable for his behaviour more. You probably helped that. Don't sweat it.

Having said that Mayer has been excellent for this club. He is in the turn around mould as far as CEO's go. If he wants to build a legacy beyond turn around, he like many CEO's will need to adjust his style. I hope he does. I am a fan of his results. I pray his style evolves.

Nice guys don't often turn around businesses quickly. Let's face it, we needed the mongrel in him

Wrong - First impression was that the club did not want to keep him. His not on very much money this year and the club offered him less for next year than what he earns this year.....You don't do that if you want to keep a player.
Robbie Farah has already stated the club handled it badly from the start. But Mayer is not to blame for this as he was not involved in initial talks.

Tedesco requested to spread his contract evenly.
Wrong - Very stupid comment. Nothing to do with spreading money evenly no one has a contract set up with the same money each year and no one asked for that.

* The Raiders offered Tede$co more per annum than the Tigers were prepared to offer, however, the Tigers offer over 4 years was more than the Raiders total offer.
Wrong -- The Raiders offer was always more even over 3 years it included accommodation and a car. That would have to make the Wests Tigers fourth year 900k+ and seeing his now only resigned with Wests Tigers for 3 years obviously the fourth year was not as you say.

*However, I’ve heard Tede$co **had little intentions of staying a WT** providing he was offered a decent deal by the Raiders.... the intention to become a Raider was determined very early this year by Tede$co, his family and Manager.
This is your worst guess of all - I have no idea what the intentions of his manager were but Tedesco and his family always wanted to stay at Wests Tigers. You only have to attend a game to see the way James' family and Grant Mayer get along. Please you really are so stupid. That is just a complete lie on your behalf.

I think those comments were simply fantasy. I understand people were worked up but to me the club is more important than any player.

Tedesco was offered a great contract from the club and it seems obvious to me that the players and coaching staff really wanted him to stay. I think that people got in his ear with those sort of comments and it impacted his decision process. I honestly feel for the guy but I assume you know him and based on that assumption I figure people like yourself were giving him bad advice.

I think his support group really let him down.

I can tell you the same comments that Robbie said was repeated on a few occasions

When he had Ayoub and the advice from other players and his family the last thing he needed was my advice

Mate I was the last person to take advice from , I was 17 believed a handshake deal I had was a deal and then when I turned around a few months later to accept the back payments the club reneged on the deal (It was probably $400 maximum  ) in match payments

Can you stop acting like you have some sort of insider information? Earlier in another thread a user posted:

Teddy had two choices, the easy one was to stay in a place where you comfortable in your surroundings and had a lot of friends. The hard one was to up and leave and head off to another club. So with this in mind Iam not sure all was well with Teddy and the Tigers. Okay their was obviously the money factor, but I still think their was a problem somewhere that pushed him out the door. Now the problem might have been his problem or the clubs problem, we will probably never know

You responded "Seriously you could possibly be the most smartest man on this forum"

The fact that Tedesco could not bring himself to leave just shows the user was incorrect. Which means you were entirely wrong.

So please, please, please stop acting like you have inside information beyond that which you've gleaned from attaching yourself to the inside of other users' colons.
