No class is correct Defiant.
Happy, the excuses you are making are total bullcrap. These kids are negotiating million dollar deals. They are more astute and disciplined than the average 21 year old dope. I believe they were his true colours….all about me.
I think he is a greedy, disloyal so and so and look forward to watching his career stall under Stuart.

You may well be correct in your assessments Stryker but you are completely incorrect to say that this is a kid negotiating a million dollar deal. He has an agent who he pays big bucks to to do just that. There is no correlation between the contract negotiation and how the post contract interview has come out.

I have stayed out of this for ages…

lets put it this way, as a person if he had a skerik of class/respect/decency the interview wouldnt have gone down like that... forget professionalism, strip it back to him as a person. Its either spiteful intentionally or character flaw... remember he saw similar last year from bunji, its not as if its an unfamiliar situation.

I dont like how it all played out, I understand in a way why though. I dont hate him for his decision, so be it, but this media crap is different.

Well I don't know what is right or wrong in terms of the figures being mentioned- but if Teddy is getting ridiculed by the majority of Tigers fans for being greedy and he was offered less than Brooks and Moses, (as suggested in another post) I hope he makes it known, I was devastated that we lost him, but I would be furious if it was a deliberate move by Mayer to leave him with no option but to go - surely he couldn't be that stupid, I feel ill…...

Brooks as a 19 year old half back in an era of not many good halfbacks will always get more money than Tedfesco and rightly so.

As others have said though, he's shown his true colours and that's not someone I'd want at our club.

Correct. I also agree with the point above regarding not wanting to see any more threads about the guy. I don't want to hear anything about him again. I won't follow his career from now on and I don't wish him good luck at all.

With that sort of money, Tedesco is supposed to carry the team. Lets see whether he can do that on his own, without the help of his mates.

100%

I would take half a brooks at this stage over any fullback. He might end up a nobody, but so might Teddy.

..me too, opposing Teams are already targeting his legs(Teddy) so i hope he has strong bones for the middle of winter in the ACT.

Good Luck James,

Take the money, I probably would have to in all honesty.

Word of warning " Dont get to close to your new supercoach"!

Stuart has a gift with players and clubs.

One player does not make a team,( whether it be Brooks or Tedesco) but we had the makings of a great spine,. The best we have looked this year by a country mile is when Robbie, Brooks, and Tedesco were on the field together. What irks me (if it is true) is that the club could have secured him, had they offered similar money to that offered to Brooks. In my opinion his performances of late deserved that. It has been said a good half back is worth more, and there are few around -fair comment - but all the most successful teams also have a gun fullback running off them. We could have had them both.

I agree wholeheartedly. Like many others on this forum can attest the tigers had the most promising spine in the comp with:

1\. Tedesco
6\. Moses
7\. Brooks
9\. Farah

Considering fullback is such an important position as well, its all the more disappointing to lose him. All the more painful remembering those dark days after Hodgo left.

I look forward to Curtis Rowe stepping up and proving us all wrong that he is a first class full back. He is the one that played along side brooks and moses in NYC and junior comps. Wish Teddy all the best and I hope potter gives him the rest of the season in the VB cup where he belongs. Remember 3 year plan is top eight nxt yr, semis following and premership in 17\. So I hope Curtis gets the rest of the year at FB. One door closes another opens.

Tbh I haven't seen or read what he said after signing, but when I saw it on foxsports my heart sank. No one would begrudge him taking by far the higher offer, but my immediate thoughts were how much WT has already invested in him and stuck by him through the acl and other injuries and got him to where he is.

I applaud Mayer and co for refusing to be held to ransom by any one player. Could you imagine the team dynamic with tedesco on as much (for example) as farah?! IMO, they have handled yet another situation well, and the loss of tedesco probably means they can keep the likes of gavet, taupau, whoever….

He'd want to become every bit the player he is POTENTIALLY, because if he spends the next three years injured or becomes what sandow did before this season (after Stuart note) he will be a 24 year old no one wants.

What must also be remembered is that potential means absolutely nothing unrealised.

Regardless of how he may have behaved following the announcement, what use is it playing him in first grade for the tigers? The remaining games are now best used looking to next year and on; let Rowe develop, give Austin or Moses a go there...hell I think I'd rather koroibete at fullback than tedesco now.

Ps: so tedesco automatically gets the $ on this forum?! Classic.... :roll

**Believe what you wish but these are the facts – 100%.**

* The club wanted to keep Tede$co…. That is why they offered him a 4 year contract. You don’t do that for players you don’t want to keep!.

* The money on offer was not spread evenly over 4 years due to our salary cap position. This is what annoyed Tede$co and his manager. This is a very common strategy employed by most clubs due to the nature of the cap and there is nothing Mayer could do to accommodate Tede$co’s request to spread his contract evenly..

* The Raiders offered Tede$co more per annum than the Tigers were prepared to offer, however, the Tigers offer over 4 years was more than the Raiders total offer.

At the end of the day these were the sticking points contract wise that could not be resolved.

However, I’ve heard Tede$co **had little intentions of staying a WT** providing he was offered a decent deal by the Raiders.... the intention to become a Raider was determined very early this year by Tede$co, his family and Manager.

Tede$co will earn the good money, but he will have to carry the whole Canberra team. He is good, but is he good enough for that? We will see.Any sub performance may not look good as Canberra is a one team city. Has Canberra got the players to complement his style and the understanding with Brooksie? The difference in $ could be about $60,000 in inome after tax, for that he will have to change his enviroment and his lifestyle. The difference is not as big as it seems. Canberra will have to pay to have any new players going there, for a team that is currently running near last. The deal from WT looks reasonable, besides he was being paid for all the leave Tes is having while he was injured. It cannot all be one side, you take the good with the bad. Tes has not really considered this aspect and he has yet to prove himself at the level for what he will be getting paid.

How much do players get paid per Origin game? The difference couldve been made up right there. Had he stayed here I could definitely see him playing there in the next few years. The only rep jersey he'll get playing under Stuart is for Italy

I don't see where Tedesco is vowing to live up to the hype whilst he plays the remainder of 2014 for Wests Tigers? Will he or won't he?
