Like to see how they perform, if the situations were reversed.

That's a ridiculous argument. In this line of work you are open to criticism.

Just having a bit of fun, it's called **sarcasm** :unamused:
in any line of work you are open to criticism!!

I don't agree with the Telecrap - one among many.

However they are probably more qualified to judge the "Wooden Spoon"

They have been collecting the "Wooden Spoon of Journalism for years.
Their spokes persons Slothfield and Wilson have a mantle piece full of them.

They are also favorites for 2016

You're onto something there! We should form a Judging Pannel here and work out "who is the Jurno with the most wrong calls for the season" maybe the WOSA (Waste of Space Award).

Rothfield would start as a heavy favourite going off previous form. Doesn't he pick the WTs every year for the spoon but has never been correct. That's an 100% failure rate.

Now,now peeps,if we did win the spoon this year…at least we can say we did win something in 2016...yeah,nah,anything...

As Geo said in another thread........I'll see myself out.........

Don't know about that. The boys on LU deliberately started a false rumour once about a Swans player and Bourbon Beccy was trawling the forums and reported it in the paper. I doubt we'll see an apology from her to SKD either after hanging him from the highest tree due to DV allegations. Turns out his ex is just an opportunistic nut case who was prepared to destroy him when she couldn't con his club for six months rent.

I'm back in…..the reason for my previous post was a bit of humour....in all honesty the Wests Tigers will be closer to the 8 than the spoon.....what will they win this year??...
The confidence of the fans ,members and supporters of this club....better times ahead....

We are a likely bottom 4 side , if we finish higher we have probably overachieved

I think if we were to lose Tedesco or Moses for any length of time we are in massive trouble

Keeping our best centres combination together (whoever that may be ) is also crucial

Interesting interview with Paul Gallen who spoke good words about the Tigers of his own volition near the tail end of hi interview on the BSB.

Fast forward to the 9 minute mark.

it suprises me that an nrl.com writer is allowed to have a ladder prediction, just a bad look for me.

we're a very easy wooden spoon pick by people who dont pay close attention. ive seen many articles wondering how we'll cover for taupau, richards and galloway. taupau is the only loss, the other 2 were horrible last year. i find it very hard to believe guys like nofo, simona, brooks, moses, sue, cherrington etc wont improve this year. obviously we wont be challenging for the premiership but if keys players stay healthy ill be surprised if with 4-5 rounds to go we arent in with a shot of making the 8.

definition of ' expert ' … a drip under pressure.
the link below is the epl predictions for this season.
the foxes were given a slim chance of avoiding relegation and tipped to be second last.
experts are a dime a dozen.

They are allowed their opinion. We haven't given them any reason to think differently yet. It's up to our club to change attitudes towards us seeing as we went a long way towards cultivating them in the first place.

Come round 20 and they'll be all aboard the Tigers bandwagon….

Who cares what this toilet paper says. Nobody with any sense at all takes tabloid garbage like this seriously! We may or may not run stone motherless this year-these morons wouldn't know one way or the other. I for one do not think we will. We have the ability to make the 8\. If Taylor can introduce a bit more consistency, who knows where we might end up. Certainly not any of this scummy rag's hacks!

Haha… if they'd picked us for the GF, we'd be high fiving each other..

The journo's are asked to predict a ladder. No surprise, the greatest amount of thought they put in is "who is my favourite team?", "where did everyone finish last season" & "who signed the biggest name FA for this season?".

Someone picked the Panthers to come last. Seriously?

I'm waiting to see Manly struggle now that DCE doesn't have Foran to help him out, and all that money was spent on big names that few teams fought hard for...

Gorden Tallis: n/a

Way to go Gordie! The pressure was too much for the big dolt and he couldn't get one out.
Dumbest human alive that bloke.

Why should we deserve ANY respect? What has this team done to deserve anyone rating them?

Take off your rose coloured glasses people. We will be tipped to suck, until we prove otherwise, or we look like we are trending the other direction. None of that is happening.

For the conspiracy theorists among us, another 'trouble at the tigers' snippet in the Tele today as part of their 'Sport Confidential' section. Might be print only as I can't see it on their website.
Basically the same non-specific gossip that these guys are known for, though it did mention something about young players and confusing politics.

In the Herald they have Teddy sort of saying that JT cramped their style last year but okay now.
So if the young guns complained to the capt and the capt does his duty in reporting the messenger gets shot???

James Tedesco is pain-free and ready to get his hands on the ball more as he enjoys the benefits of stem cell surgery to repair his damaged knee.
Playing the full season for the first time in his NRL career last year took its toll on Tedesco's body. His left knee was in bad shape and left him unable to train before games.
Following the lead of teammate Aaron Woods, Tedesco opted for the stem cell procedure, which he said has him primed to start the NRL season.

"By the end of last year, playing every game and training all year took its toll on the body," he said. "My knee was getting sore in the middle part of the season and towards the end of the year I wasn't training much.

"I haven't had any pain since [the operation]. I hadn't strapped [my knee] at the start of the year but by the end of the year I was strapping it to give it a bit more protection.
"After games I rested for the first few days and then the last few sessions I would run but limit my kilometres because I hadn't had that load in a while.
"The load got a bit of pain into it. This procedure is used to stop that pain. If I ran on it, it would cause more inflammation."
Tedesco has also added two kilograms of muscle to help his body withstand the grind of week-to-week first grade. He has maintained his pace and wants to become even more involved than his breakthrough 2015 season.
"I have the goal of playing rep footy," he said. "I need to stay consistent. I've worked hard on my skills and defence. _getting more involved. Assistant coach [Craig Sandercock] knows when I get my hands on the ball something can happen.
"Throughout the year I need to get more involved. They've [the coaching staff] indicated to me it's dangerous to the other team when I have the ball. Coming off last year I'm confident."
The Tigers have reworked their attacking structures, which will help Tedesco increase his involvement. He expects to be part of a more "free flowing" Tigers side when they host the Warriors at Campbelltown Stadium in round one on Saturday.
"Last year the halves felt a bit restricted about what they could and couldn't do," Tedesco said. "JT [coach Jason Taylor] has the confidence for us to play and he knows how good of an attacking team we could be.
"It's been awesome. It's fair enough that JT wanted to come in and have a certain structure that he is used to playing with teams.
"He has adapted well for players like Brooksy [Luke Brooks] and Mitch [Moses] who have played together their whole juniors and play a certain way too.
"When they are playing their best footy, the whole team looks good"\

Yeah just read it but can't attach it from my phone….
It says :
' All is not well in the Tigers lair '
This isn't what you want to hear if you are a Wests Tigers Supporter.
Sports Confidential has been told by several ever reliable source that everything isn't hunky - dory at Concord.
No doubt this will be denied but we understand there is still simmering tension around the Club and some of the younger players are confused about there role and the Politics.

:unamused:..... Give it a rest the Season is up and running. :brick:

There is not a football club in the NRL where the whole playing roster loves the coach and 100% embrace his methods and ideas on the game. I am sure there might be some drama behind the scenes. The DT is in the business of selling news papers so I guess they see us as a soft target. Its up to the playing group and Taylor to turn this negative press into a motivation tool.

As for the kids, if there is any truth to what the DT is peddling than that has to be Buckets first assignment when he starts work
