OFFICIAL Terrell May #296

Terrell’s drop off in form is very concerning, let’s hope it is due to burnout from playing too many minutes during the season.
Regardless he is not an aggressive forward leader, but how many props are these days? Finding one is like finding a needle in a haystack and as quite a few others have mentioned, hopefully Samuela becomes this type of player for us even if he remains playing on the left edge.

Yet when playing at the roosters, this is exactly what he was. Looked in better shape too.

It’s probably the same thing that has Bula playing like a busted arse. A new, fat, long term contract.

He rarely meets the opposing line front anymore. He tends to back into the line looking for an offload by that negates his momentum.

He came on in his second stint last night and looked so much more impactful as he got a few PCMs. I think shorter minutes, faster play the balls, good contact and PCMs will make him more effective.

He need Alex Twals training regime. Get as fot and mobile as possible, lean up and play less minutes. Concentrate on power and quality, not quantity.

If only Royce had the motor to get up to a 30-minute contribution, haven't we missed his impact lately, then yank Terrell from the field so he can be used as a prop, not the marathon man.
If he stays in the same shape he was before getting injured, I reckon we could get 30mins per game out of him.
The problem I am seeing is all our middles with strong ball carries and impact seen to struggle when starting and only play well off the bench.

Yeah, I still wouldn't start Royce, you know I've been screaming for an alpha prop all season to be recruited, Tigers won't listen to me I'm shocked.

From the weekend's embarrassment, if some of your game plan is going to be blunt force trauma for God sake pick forwards that can produce it, surely there's some lunatics with size in reserves.

I agree with you re Sheens being a bit outdated, still I think he was a terrific coach
He was back in 2005, tried new strategies and it clicked to win a premiership, we all thought he was a genius.

Trouble is it was imprinted on his brain that was the only way to go, nothing else could be better, his coaching didn't morph with the times as Bennett and Bellyache have managed to achieve.

I’m actually confident (guilty))) that Taapau Moors will go well in the top 30 with a good pre season in him .. he is a big body, aggressive and pretty mobile..
We can only hope.
As you say he does have the size and mongrel in him, but at the moment he is very inconsistent.
What I don’t understand is why 50% sometimes more of his carries are only half paced at best?
If he ran onto the ball at speed 80 or 90% of the time he would be knocking on the door to play NRL now.

Sounds like the motor isn't a turbo, more like those old-fashioned VW Beetles.

They do, and there's probably a good reason why they let him go? They don't get many wrong at the Roosters and if they do, they correct it quickly (look at Dom Young).

I agree that May is poorly used. He shouldn't be playing anywhere near as many minutes as he does. Like most players, we just eventually make them worse.
They let him go because they had an absolute gem in Nofahu Whyte...he is and will be rivalling Payne Haas in a year or two.
