Test team-Strange selections

Some very odd selections.

I cant believe they picked Tamou, he has been going like an absolute busted for all but 2 games this year, and was poor last year as well. It is not like he has been so dominant in the past we can forget about form.
Myles is out of form as well, he has a history of strong performance at this level so can understand the selection.
They always pick Bird, but if he is playing better than Cordner or Hoffman (who is in awesome form) Ill throw it in.

They talk about getting some new blood in the team, but the only recent incumbents to miss out (that were available and not fill ins) were Cordner and Jennings, 2 young blokes.

Luke Lewis has got to be the most over rated player to continue getting selected for the Test side when he has very little game time with the Sharks and when he does has little impact for them .

Luke Lewis has been the best Blues player in a few SOO games. He's value is he's competitiveness. goes well as a utility player.

Agree w/ Lewis.
He hasn't been good in years.

Very stale selections.

Pretty cruisy pension scheme for Ol' Tim.
Surely we know better than to assume there's logic behind his team selections though?

I'd say that his better form in the last fortnight especially last weekend saved Tamou.
As his form up to then has been poor,
Bird has probably been rewarded for his past performances , and will go well.
And Lewis has always played for NSW and he covers backs and forwards. I don't mind him being there.

Test and SOO is a reward for players playing at an outstanding level week in week out for there Clubs , Luke Lewis is so far from doing that at Club level IMO , always an injury with him.
There is always going to be Politics with ceratin players being selected even James Tamou making the Test side 😱pen_mouth: now that is a gee up.

Not odd when you look at who is the Coach

You do know that the Coach only puts forward his thoughts and the National selectors of Des Morris, Allan Smith, Bob Fulton and Bob McCarthy pick the team right…

Lots of politics from those North of the border...

Way to ruin fun conversation with fact, but when the coach is out in the media saying Jack Bird deserves a jumper, then it wouldn't be extrapolating too much to think he suggested Johnston, and his Lewis fetish is well known too.
