Is the money that far off considering the Titans are paying well north of a million for Fafita.

Im not sure that should be the benchmark. He’s horribly overpaid at the Titans

I'd say he's better than Pangai too

Yeah maybe, I think Fifita’s horribly overrated tbh.

Doesn’t do the good stuff against the great teams too often. Bit of a downhill skier imo

800k for Pangai, if true, is too much.

The alternative is to go cheap and throw Dufty in the front row - we have the funds, let’s splurge.

We need X Factor and he has got it. Hopefully he drags the rest along with him. If it is $750k as previously mentioned, I would signed him immediately. How much would the Broncos be paying? Need him this year as well to start working on our Pea Hearts. What is Packer on now and he doing nothing?

You're right but that's kinda the titans as a whole as well. Still young so plenty of time to fix that, if he doesn't it'll be a shame

Taylor was already gone. They had the option to stay and play under Ivan if they REALLY wanted to be here. But they didn’t.

I hate Ivan and what he did to us, but can you imagine an alternate universe where the big four AND Cleary stayed?

Hadn’t they already signed or agreed with there respective clubs?

Teddy, woods and Moses hadn't decided anything when Ivan came. Ivan gave them deadlines to sign which is never a good move and the only one who agreed to stay was brooks

Moses had already agreed to terms with Parra. Ivan never gave Moses a deadline, he took the offer off the table and said that Woods and Teddy were priorities. Coincidently within the deadline of those two, they agreed with their new clubs already (IMO the three of them had already agreed to new clubs)

You really think they weren’t already gone before he gave them the deadline?

I'm sure they had a good idea what they were doing but setting a deadline is pretty much pushing them out the door. I can't blame their either, we sucked then and we suck now ?

I'm just stating what happened and that's what happened. They got given a deadline and didn't sign, then signed elsewhere after that so it's not like they were already gone before Ivan was here

Its not what happened

It is what happened, they got given a deadline and then chose not to sign with tigers. Sure, they could've already agreed to sign elsewhere earlier but at that point they weren't officially signed anywhere

I was literally just answering someone who said had they left before Ivan got here - they hadn't. Only thing I got wrong was the Moses thing, the contract was pulled when they were sure hed be off to eels. Not tryna argue or lament about it haha

I don’t like derailing threads but you are correct . In 2016 both Moses and Brooks took up player options .. Moses had interest from the Rorters which led to Issac tweet to Gus saying he would leave him at Wests Tigers to develop.. which then led to Politis famous never dealing with Moses the manager …Wests Tigers realising they had a fight on there hands for all 4 tabled offers and upgrades on the table for 8 months for them to sign at any time..Tedesco gave every indication he would . Minichello became involved and that was it .. Woods headed for what he thought was greener pastures.. deadlines only hastened what they already new .. they were gone by that stage.. it is what it is..you know..

I agree and I’m not sure he’s the type of player we need but will we get anyone better? Will he attract other competent first graders? I don’t know and I’m close to the fence on this one..

In terms of recruiting other players....Currently I don't think its a great sell, particularly to younger players. Come to the Tigers and get bashed because no one fears our pack....

or

Sign Pangai (who might just be on the far side of crazy) and create some fear in the opposition.

I'd even go again and try to sign Marty Taupau (apologies for the spelling). What a 1-2 punch that would be.

The production line of backs that the Tigers are starting to warehouse in the lower grades starts to come through with a cloak of protection around them (and they hopeful flourish)

wasnt the figure for TPJ 2.2 mil ? which is about 730k a season possibly a bit less if we're getting him for the last few games of this write off season. People saying 800k probably have some sort of TPA attached, i agree thats a little high but when you cant attract talent and you've had Packer on 700k a season for ages huddling under a blanket there has to be a bit of context in the thinking here.

You shouldn't use the fact Packer was massively overpaid to justify paying overs for anyone. Each payment has to be judged on its own merits imo.I believe 800k is overs and not worth it

Im saying yes i agree its overs and there are circumstances as to why, also where is the 800k figure coming from? Last i saw was 2.2 which isnt 800k eventually we are going to have to splash out on someone to improve us and get the ball rolling its obvious we cant attract anyone on footballing merits, they all laugh at us. If we can get TPJ for around 700k and top him up with TPA's i would be comfortable with that we need to start somewhere we need to pay overs to someone or else no one is coming they are the facts.
