Not fussed if we don't get him. Will eat too much salary cap and is very risky given his inconsistency.

We have to sign someone and he's by far and away the best available. He also addresses a couple of weaknesses (offloads and impact).

Going into next year with Gildart and Hastings as our major signings will be a complete disaster.

The attitude of "we have to sign someone" is exactly what got us in this salary cap mess. The club appears to have decided to take the patient approach, and Madge confirmed that when he said we will be not looking at a "quick fix, bandaid approach".

Titans still suck with Fifita and Tino. Bulldogs still suck with Thompson, Flanagan, Cotric, and Allan. Look at the top teams and how many "big name" signings they made in the prior few years.

Well it’s taking us from a salary cap mess to a no one wants to play for us mess because 1. We’re rubbish, from pretty much top to bottom as an organisation and 2. We won’t pay overs for anyone.

All these youngsters will leave after their first deals because their clearly isn’t any intent to drastically improve the team anytime soon

Pangai is not the guy to pay overs on, we already went past what we wanted to pay. If he goes to the dogs for more than so be it.

Then I hope this club is ready to embrace the spoon next season. Regardless of how much the bulldogs are paying their players next year, it’s a drastically better side than ours. Every other club around us is improving and we are completely stuck in the mud

We are improving, did you notice who the better players were yesterday?

Exactly! New signings isn't the only way a squad improves - the experience our youngsters like Laurie, Stefano and Simpkins are picking up will put us in a better position next year even in the absence of big name signings. These blokes have me excited for the future.

They are the big names of the near future

And they’ll be at another club by the time they’re a big name because this club can’t improve the situation around them

Can't get any more negative than that.

10 years of crap mate don’t expect too much positivity from fans. It’s reality, if an obstruction call goes the other way yesterday it’s probably another woeful day. I agree we won’t get these top line stars to sign on with WT until we are winning games, but how is the club going to make that happen? I know you have a voice with some people in the club, I’d like them to come out and tell the members fans what they will be changing. I’ll be interested to see if this doco addresses our weaknesses or if it’s just a another fluff piece.

I hate when people say this but im going to say it.

If our so called fans are sooking because the Bulldogs have or might sign someone we are interested in well then go and support the Bulldogs.

People who actually understand where this club is at understand the recruitment we have already done and how it will project over the next couple of seasons.

Stop being miserable losers and find the bigger picture.

The point is its not just Pangai and its just not this year
It's LM, Addo-Carr and other signings we have been linked to over the years and we end up with who
It's loosing our Juniors like Tedesco Woods and Moses Papenhuyzen and also Addo-Carr Korobetti
So what is the bigger picture
Developing players
Has that helped us in the past
They all seen to leave for the stronger clubs because they get poached
We need some big name signings to turn the tide because we have very little to be happy about at the moment
Now with this talk of Brooks being Shoped
Good or bad I don't know
But Hastings is no replacement at this point
We need to hang on to Brooks until we have better
At this point Brooks shows more heart in defence then any other player in out team
I would rather offload Nofoaluma 1st
If we have no one else close to signing with us then go a little harder for Pangai
If he is what they think we need then that makes some sense
If he helps us win a few more games then that is what we want
The more we win the more likely we sign someone of better calibre
Small steps
Who else of note is there on the market
Finucane?
Not on overs as he is to old now

What we need is for the media and former players to talk up the going to a struggling teams, turning them around and leading them to victory. This is a real achievement. Going to play for a top team that already had the best players and a winning culture is taking the easy way out and letting others do the work for you.

More emphasis on these players would hopefully level the playing field, make players want to be the most influential players rather being afraid of the pressure.

As of right now the club has not heard back from TPJ’s management nor have they returned the clubs latest attempt at communication……….appears he’s made up his mind.

thats pretty poor form if that's true.. Makes me feel better if we miss him with that attitude.
Moving onto Funicane ?? @THE_POM

Can’t see us even having a hat in the ring for Funicane, not formal offer was made, his a management wanted all deals on the table last Friday so he could make a decision this week.
Unless they entertain an offer this late he won’t be joining us.

**BULLDOGS WIN RACE FOR UNWANTED BRONCOS STAR**

https://www.foxsports.com.au/

The Bulldogs have reportedly won the race for the signature of unwanted Broncos enforcer Tevita Pangai Jr.

Speaking on Fox League’s NRL Tonight, Brent Read from The Australian revelead the Bulldogs are set to announce the signing of Pangai Jr in the next two days.

“This is close,” Brent Read said on NRL Tonight on Monday night.

“Tevita’s management were talking with the Broncos tonight about a settlement or a payout figure that could make the deal go through with, it looks like Canterbury.

“Canterbury are very confident that they have won the day with Tevita Pangai.

“I would expect an announcement in the next day or two on this.

“Tevita I am not sure he will be at Canterbury this season. I think they are looking at him for next season onwards.

“It might be that Tevita leaves Brisbane this season before August 1 and plays for someone else for the remainder of 2021 and then moves to Canterbury.

“But Canterbury are very confident that they have won the day with Pangai Jr.”

The chairman said a big signing soon ! Ok where is he .. not a good look if not going to happen once again !

That’s not what he said.
He said that we would fill the last roster spot.
No big in that statement.

Edge Forward is main focus/depth.
As well publicised junior ranks main focus with stockpiling of lower grades. Egan Butcher had a discussion with Hartigan end of last week, deal to be presented to his management this week.

Cheers mate... As fans this is just heartbreaking and I can only assume the powers in the club would be just as frustated. (they better be anyway) ..

Extremely frustrated, not getting a simply response from a player manager after attempts of communication is just simply rude.
