Lee shouldn’t say things like that and then go back to the negotiating table. It helps noone.

What he should have done when he went back to the negotiating table was tell Pangai Junior that Wests Tigers have their own barber and there would be no need to go to the Mongols barber any more.

Can someone please explain the mindset that thinks we've missed out on a 'marquee' player in not getting TPJ for an inflated price? Because I'm just not seeing it.

Remembering this is a guy who's own club publicly threw him out to the market, the night before a home game, by deliberately feeding details to the press.

The same club currently running 15th and holders of last year's wooden spoon, experiencing the worst run of their entire history, who are massively lacking in first grade experience and leadership didn't want the guy. Surely that rings some alarm bells.

Honestly this feels like we’ve dodged a massive bullet. Dogs paying 750k/year for this big dope is poor business. He is erratic af. Red flag considering the 15th place Broncos aren’t bothered about retaining his services.

Apparently we offered a package worth approximately 600k. 550k base + Car (Kia Stinger). I’m proud that our club didn’t offer ludicrous overs like the DumbDogs have.

Don’t be too proud until you see who we waste that money on now with a panic buy.

You reckon their signing of TPJ on rockstar dollars is good business fella?

Fella? Stay proud, glad you’re not holding the purse strings though

Not gonna get into a pissing match with you pal. We’ll agree to disagree.

?

I love it when you back door me with down votes when I touch your glass jaw ..

Our chairman is a principal of a large law firm and would have to excel at contracts and negotiation. Let that sink in.....😳

Maybe our targets don't appreciate him wanting to skim 30% as a settlement fee.

I've gotta admit, I wanted him partly because we haven't scored a "name"player in yonks, but the more I think about it and what the real cost is etc, I am so pleased he's chosen to go elsewhere.

We can put the money we saved from not getting him towards more astute signings.
- Upgrade Garner
Look at marquee players like:
- Bryce Catrwright
- Ray Stone
- Curtis Sironen
- Jack Gosiewski
- Sam Stone
- Billy Magoulias

Do we get to continue to use the poor cap position next year to explain our lackluster roster?

Got that feeling he will not be in our colours but that’s fine we still have plenty young guys like Tuki / Blore so I’m ok with it , it is a concern we can’t jag a top liner but I’m not to worried about it , I think our young guys will see there is a potential spot for them and maybe that brings out there very best form and they will only get better with time on the paddock , I still think Aaron Woods on a 2 year would be good at $ 250/300 k and like a few others have said the scramble for deals before the dead line will heat up , there could be a couple players come on the market we could use ata fair price

Garner doesn't deserve another upgrade. We should be looking at signing someone to replace him in the starting lineup - none of those options look very attractive. Sironen the best of the lot but he's injured all the time

We SHOULD be extending Luciano before November 1

I won’t pay a cent for the names above that’s the problem with our club we want pay a little extra to guys like TPJ he is going to make us eat our words next year he is a beast

We need to re sign Tom Mikalele, Alex Seyfarth to the squad. Extend Talau, Luciano Leilua, Tuilagi, Twal for 2022 onwards before doing anything in my view.

Sign under the radar players: Harley Smith Shileds, Murray Taulagi, Fletcher Baker, Ethan Bullemor, Franklin Pele, Tolutau Koula.

Most importantly Mbye has to be released irrespective of the cost.

think its been mentioned on here a couple times that we're looking at Franklin Pele pretty heavily. HSS sounds as if he's in the frame, Baker is offering himself to other clubs and we went hard for Bullemor when he was off contract last time. Taulagi is solid but I'm not sure if we need anymore centres, especially if we are as far down the track with HSS as we're led to believe. Koula's incredibly quick but I think Manly have him locked up tight.

I would literally rather us not sign any of those guys and sign TPJ instead

Me too.
At $700k he looks good value comp[ared to David Fifita at a ridiculous $1.2 mill!!!
Done deal
Brandon Smith..were about the only club that can afford him!!

I am a bit meh about missing out on him.

Potential to be great, but currently not standing out in a terrible pack.

I did wonder where we would play him? Would it be a middle forward or on the edge. The reality is that our edge forwards severely lack any depth.

Signing options there are next to non-existent at that position as per my previous posts.

Do we have any young edge forwards coming through? I have seen middle forwards and outside backs mentioned as Flegg guns, but not so much any edge forwards. We are going to have to go digging again.

I was quite happy signing him at the "right" price but what the dogs are throwing at him is completely the "wrong" price
