I can confirm that TPJ has looked at out facilities and was very impressed. He also like Madge. The only concern is he’s manager doesn’t want him to come from a struggling team to another, so the weekend result didn’t help our cause. In saying that we are in a good position to sign him.

There you go!!! The demountables ain't so bad after all...

No but the COE is amazing, honestly I have been in the demountables and they are so much better than the old facilities.

I was thinking they met him at the Airport and pulled out the building plans

They have a virtual walk through that shows what it is going to be like. It is on a different planet to what this club is used to.

again why do the fans know nothing, apart form the special few? easy to post it online, its not a state secret

Probably because Cochise is a little closer to the club than your average fan.

Granted it'd be nice to see some advertised progress pics and the like, but they are probably waiting until it's completed and then will have fans open day.

So apparently the Roosters are in for TPJ and are serious about getting him... If thats the case we may as well close this thread and move onto the next dream..

I truly don't know the answer to this but the NRL brought the salary cap in to make the competition more even but it just is not working and with TPA it is just taking the piss out of it..
E.g. look at this Roosters player for next year and they still are in the business of getting more.
Luke Keary - 1million a season to 2024
Teddy - 1.1 million to 2024
Manu - 550k - 2022
Suaalii - reported 400-500k to 2022
Radley - around 600k to 2023
Crichton - 800k
Taukeiaho - around 400-500k
Tupouniua - around 400-500k
JWH - around 500-600k to 2023
Walker around 500k to 2023
Verrills - Around 350k to 2024

Plenty of others but you get the idea and they have 2 players alone earning 2.1mil a year and the other 28 players over the remaining 7 or so mil.. Add TPJ and his 800k Next year (broncos will pay some next year but he will want at least a 2-3 year deal on good money.

Something has to change for us to get out of this hole we have been in for years and the only think I can think of is paying overs for 2 or 3 top line players. Clearly they need to tick all the boxes unlike past ones. For me the only one that stands out is Brendan Smith as he show ticker EVERY game, Builds great morale in the group, Gets the team motivated and just wants to win regardless of how.

I would also like TPJ as he adds he mongrel we LACK and I see him killing it with a change of clubs. If we don't get him the club that will gets him will be licking there lips IMO.

If you were TPJ would you come here? You saw last nights game.

Why would ANYONE want to come here after many of our performances this season ...it's not like the Melbourne game was a one off random performance ......Cows ,Eels ,Manly ,Storm ....you just can't ignore this ...and if you are a fringe rep player coming here it could be counter productive career wise

Well they obviously saw something at those clubs they didn't see at the WT's

And if that is the perception of some in the NRL ...we should be very concerned .....don't you think ...or are we going to ignore the obvious ...we aren't seen as a truly viable option for most quality NRL players

I honestly don't know why it hasn't been shared to a wider audience, but its possible that they don't have the rights to publish it. It needs to be remembered that this is a shared building and other organisations are involved.

Means nothing if we keep pulling out performances like that and then having the club captain giving post match interviews like he did

Because it hasn't always been that way. The Dogs have been rubbish the last few years but they were a regular finals team up to 2016, including a grand final loss and a minor premiership. They also have 15+ players off contract, have made a couple of astute signings for next year and are showing some signs of improvement on the field.

Broncos have had 2 poor seasons and are a complete mess, but they have the advantage of being in a one club city. They're too big and powerful to stay a mess for long.

Fifita just got paid twice what he's worth.

We haven't played finals in 10 years, our on field performances have been getting worse for the past 3 seasons and we are constantly smashed in the press. I love WT but if I were a player with no bias we'd be the last choice team.

Don’t rubbish your own club, anyone wishing to prove themselves can get a leg up by joining a club that needs an injection, it’s important to formulate your own opinions, not be guided by the media flogs that are intent on furthering their mates’ careers.

Why would JAC sign with the repeatedly flogged Bulldogs? Why would Adam Reynolds sign with the repeatedly flogged Broncos? Why did David Fifita sign with the perpetually unsuccessful Titans?

Well they obviously saw something at those clubs they didn't see at the WT's

And if that is the perception of some in the NRL ...we should be very concerned .....don't you think ...or are we going to ignore the obvious ...we aren't seen as a truly viable option for most quality NRL players

Don’t rubbish your own club, anyone wishing to prove themselves can get a leg up by joining a club that needs an injection, it’s important to formulate your own opinions, not be guided by the media flogs that are intent on furthering their mates’ careers.

My club needs as much rubbish dumped on it as possible

The old gym looked like a backdrop from escape from Alcatraz

Yeah it was horrible, you know you had it rough when moving into demountables is an upgrade.

I can't wait for people to see **the COE**, it really is nothing like this club has ever had.

Just out of interest, are we the last club to bring this type of initiative in?
I know a few clubs have them, but not sure if all have them?

There aren't too many clubs with them - Penrith, Raiders definitely do. Manly are getting one. Storm facilities are pretty good, as are the Eels. Sharks high performance centre is a decent gym in the southern grandstand.

The WT facilities will surpass all other clubs in the NRL, so we have no excuses as far as training facilities are concerned heading into next year.

Pangai is on 600k this year and 800k next year.
Broncos are willing to pay 350k next year and have already paid half this years salary. I’m told it will happen Broncos have leverage over Pangai stemming from last years incident.

If the Tigers can get Pangai on 450k a season he’s worth the risk and can be a game breaker.
Broncos have overpaid forwards Pangai, Lodge, Haas and bent their cap out of shape.

This move is wise whilst he is a loose cannon and gets suspended he’s very strong and rarely is not one of the best forwards on the field. I’m all seriousness he’s better than any forward we have.

The weird argument I am hearing is Pangai doesn't "address Tigers' need for stability and leadership". OK but he certainly addresses our need for explosive power, game-changing ability and second-phase. Unless we are talking about only having salary cap space for 1 player, can't we sign both an aggressive forward and a durable reliable experienced forward?

As they say "why not both?"

Told it will happen by a reliable source?

Would definitely be a huge plus for us.

Yep. There will be more carnage for broncos club is more toxic than the tigers under Jason Taylor. Good young players also want out Hetherington, Farnworth, Beullemor and other senior players being told to leave.

Are we giving them Billy because that will surely ease a toxic culture bringing in the coaches son who isn’t an overly good footballer ?

I've met Billy Walters, really nice solid young bloke, whatever you think of him as a footballer.

This recruitment is about credibility as a destination club.

The sort of credibility you get with playing finals footy?

On that point say we'd come 8th instead of 9th the four or five times it happened, would we be cut some slack? Probably not.

Personally I would be ecstatic with 9th. Rome wasnt built in a day

9th stinks, unless you mean 9th in 2021, which I agree would be miraculous.
