Peter Badel on NRL360 reckons the WTs are about to table a formal offer for 2.5 seasons for TPJ

His manager met with Donahue today maybe a deal is already done

Who's Donahue?

Broncos CEO

How reliable is Peter Badel when it comes to his sources?

Never trust a man under 70 years of age who wears cardigans.

Not sure why we would want TPJ for this season? He's got a few more weeks of suspension to serve and our season is shot. Waste of money for this year IMO.

If we are gonna sign him for next year we might as well get him now, gets him more time and experience at our club, no real reason to wait. Won't be anyone better to sign instantly

Couldn’t agree more. Get him while we can. This season is shot anyway

Especially if we are playing well in the back half of the season.. He will help attract others and give him games under his belt to show his presents

I'm not as up-to-date since.... the incident with Melbourne. Didn't this guy get suspended for 4 weeks?

My maths says:

Some weeks - a few weeks = not many weeks?

Typical sign a bloke that'll play 4 games for 250K..

Just in time for our run into the finals. Master stroke if you ask me.

5 games. I guess it will give us some time to get him used to our system. Get him in now. 4 weeks off to train with the side and learn how the players play will be ideal.
I hope we don’t give up on the Finucane chase though. I’ve recently watched both players closely and Finucane is in much better form and looks committed. TPJ is looking a little lack lustre at the moment. Need both in my opinion.

And how do we only have $250 left for the remainder of this year?

We have more than $250k I think. Isn’t $250k what we’d be paying him?

very torn about this. Pangai is quality, but does he have the *qualities* we need for him to be a truly influential signing for us. I'm leaning towards no as opposed to yes. spends plenty of time in the judiciary, is prone to a brain explosion or 2 and hasn't exactly carried himself well off the field.

very little doubt about his talent when he wants to work hard, but this seems more of a typical high profile Wests Tigers signing in the mould of a Blair or a Joey Leilua, as opposed to what we do best, unearthing and signing unknowns and having them make their name at the club. truly hope that I'm proven wrong if he signs but I'm just not sure.

We have more than that.

We need to start winning the collision, TPJ wins the collision.

and then gets an offload.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, especially on a forum like this but if you can’t see that TPJ is miles in front of any of our current forwards in impact, in collision, intimidation and offloads, well….idk…this is even despite him being a little light in the top paddock.

Not sure how I feel about this. We need consistent players - Finucane style. TPJ has the potential to come and just be an absolute flop. He has no heart from what I’ve observed. Really hoping change of scenery brings out the best in him

Finucane Is having a picnic in the Storm pack - he wants a 4 year deal to move elsewhere - at his age he should be looking for a transition into lawn bowls. Outside the Storm he won’t be near as affective ... an improvement on Packer but do want to go down this road again...?
TPJ has youth on his side and we know how devastating he ‘can’ be - sure, he’s been kicking stones and unhappy since last year but you can say the same for most Broncos.
I expect the Tigers Board will not be dictated to by overpaid and over-the-hill commentators and pitch for TPJ
