What position does the club see Pangai taking? And any word on how close to a Tuilaga debut? Would love to see him on an Edge

Biddel reckons PJ will sign later this year.
Tuilagi is a beast ?

Maguire does not think so ..has played every reggies game and can not get a look in ! Even this week after the heartless performances of late.

I didn't say he was going to debut, he's a beast ! Madge is crazy for overlooking him everytime. Amone had a shot why can't Tui !

I agree this is why I do not rate Maguire as much of a coach .

Just a question. I didn't know you could tell if you were downvoted, unless of course there were no upvotes?

Two people upvoted it, if you hover over the upvotes it tells you who upvoted it, but the upvote "count" was one.

Don't get me wrong Madge is a great coach with plenty of background success. His time will come !

Dam doesn’t sound good for Dale. Sounds like the club is rolling over

Typical about Finucane. I’d say it’s Melbourne, Cronulla then us.
Still I’d be offering the deal.

I watched games featuring both players recently. To say that Finucane is burnt out is just not doing your research. He is in peak form at the moment. He leads the line speed, protects the kickers first man into a tackle or is the last wrapping him up and that just if we focus on defence.
In attack he hits the contact and gets the legs pumping as soon as his stopped, falls quick to his front, quick play the ball, offloading and shifting out the back.
He is one of the standout players in Melbourne’s forward pack.
There is still plenty of football in him!

Pangai junior on the other hand could be a decent player but has a long way to go to even tie Finucanes boot laces, his positioning and sliding in defence needs work. He is a decent attacking player but only when there are options around. He has some good games, some less than desirable. But if you want consistency it’s Finucane all day.

I notice when a user posts news that some may not like they get downvoted.

Which I guess is fair, they think it's a bad idea or whatever but yeah.. isn't the users fault for breaking the bad news.

But nonetheless, the show must go on.

Yeah downvotes dont actually worry me but at times it makes me question others motivations.

In the Jungle Polo thread I was getting 2 or 3 downvotes a post but I could understand how someone could get their pyjamas in a knot about what i said. When I post that a journalist reports.....I cant work out the motivation.

As it turns out, its either thick thumbs or Ive made a thin skinned friend.

I think it was the effective immediately part which took 3 months for Hastings.. so we check back In November

Dale Finucane would likely improve any team he joined for at least another year or so but he is already 30 and may well turn out like Blair when he came to us from the Storm a few years ago. Blair was terrific within the Storm system but looked like a fish out of water with us. TPJ is younger and whilst he has some attitude issues, he seems to offer a lot more to our still developing team.

Or he could be a signing like Scott Sattler was in 2004 which Sheens himself has stated was one of the most influential signings for 2005, bringing in a winner from a winning culture.

Very good player for sure. No issue if we could sign him for 1 or 2 years but he reportedly wants a 4 year deal at significant coin and is already 30.

In the past I liked to downvote, because then you can see who else downvoted. Then I undo my downvote. But I've stopped doing that just in case the poster sees the downvote and it makes them feel bad at all.

Badel is on the money with the 2.5 year offer which will be submitted today to TPJ Manager, but currently at the Broncos they don't know their left from their right.
As seen with the whole Billy Walters saga the Broncos do more flips then Cirque Du Le !
TPJ will cost us a maximum of $150k for 2021 & if they take Walters in a trade the final amount will be used to upgrade a lower grade player to the top 30 with Kiah Cooper, Pauga & Tuilagi the likely.

In relation to Finucane to say those in the club are divided is an understatement. Those who want him is purely for influence/culture on & off the field. The other side wary of long term deal biting us in the rear like Packer.
Club discussed a 2 year deal but Finucane's management won't entertain that at all unless there's a 3rd year option in his favour.
It will cost a minimum of $650-$675k per year for him to join us, I don't think we are his number 2 choice let alone number 1.

Thanks Mate,
Do you think the deal will go ahead for TPJ or should we be concerned about the Dogs coming in late

Sorry @THE_POM the bulldogs a well in this and don’t write off the dragons. For some reason the dragons turned down Martin Tapau I do agree that we are still favourites but so we were with JAC

Is he worth $650k though? I don't think he's worth anywhere near that. And three years should be avoided.

Apparently Newcastle want Finucane and Gagai.
What does that mean for Klemmer if they get Finucane?
I recon Wests Tigers should go hard for Klemmer and TPJ and let Finucane go to the Knights or wherever else he is wanted.

It depends how serious we are and how much we want Finucane...because there is no way in hell he is joining us on a two year deal. It is not even worth meeting with him and offering two. It just won't happen.

Realistically he will get three years wherever he goes...and our only real chance would be to offer the
extra year as an option in his favour. You just can't expect a bloke with 7 grand finals to come to a basket case club unless there is something extraordinarily better about our offfer.

Going on The Pom's post, he is not exactly keen to come here anyway...and who could blame him. It is better we focus on a target we can actually land, like TPJ.

JWH is just about the only forward in the 30 to 33 age who I would say is having any impact. That leaves a lot by the wayside.

Yeah, I'm just stating people should be raising the issue of 4 years being too long, even if it was to just play devil's advocate in the recruitment process I would want someone raising those questions.

In my opinion if he wants 4 years to come here then it is better to let him go to one of the clubs he actually wants to play for.
