It is understood the Tigers were ready to table a two-and-a-half year deal for an immediate transfer, but Pangai Jnr’s asking price, said to be in excess of $700,000 a season, shapes as an impediment.

Also saying dragons could be keen on him

Brent Read saying he thinks we've gone cold on signing tpj.

Can listen here. It's the 6min version towards 4 min mark https://www.triplem.com.au/story/brent-read-s-huge-update-on-gareth-widdop-s-return-to-the-nrl-177466

We all know what will happen and we will miss out on both TPJ and Funicane because the decision makers at our rubble of a club cannot agree on something.. FFS someone needs to take charge and make a decision because our marquee signings will be Joey L and Packer extending their stay the way we are going.. Listening to that it sounds like we are low balling players and hoping they have no choice but to come here.

Will you quit your pissing and moaning over recruitment speculation. You have the patience of a 5 year old.

NO I am allow to comment on the recruitment if I want to .. If you think we are going great good for you...

Paying overs for inconsistent players is not how you turn a club into being successful

you are 100% correct but you will never win a comp with all juniors in a side because they need the guidance and experience for which we lack.. I personally think we are holding onto the bad decisions of the past E.g Reynolds / Packer and we need to more on. We just need to get the 1st high profile one to start the domino effect but they will not come here for peanuts and I cannot blame them.
As a club we have ample money available and need to take a risk because it doesn't roll over to the next year. I am not saying pay TPJ or Funicane 900k but if we offered Funicane 650k for the 3 years he wants I think he would do wonders to these young guys both on and off the field. Call it an investment into all these young players we brought as they are currently looking up to Packer and Mbye.. let that sink in.

Ask Penrith how they are going with their juniors.

Haven't won a comp yet but they will soon.. They also have some experienced players that help lead the team.

Experienced players? Who are they?

Facts 2021: Penrith haven't fielded a player with more than 161 games of experience (Isaah Yeo). Only 4 players of the 25 that have taken the field have more than 100 games experience (Cleary, Koroisau, Yeo, JFH).

By contrast, Tigers have 9/28 players fielded in 2021 with > 100 games experience.

How do you know that to be true? Who thinks what? What decision needs to be made?

It was the POM that mentioned yesterday that there were some that wanted Funicane and some that didn't. Some that wanted TPJ and some didn't ...

No he didnt. He said they were divided about Finucane but not TPJ.

If you are using The Pom as your source to build a narrative that the club is crippled by indecision, it doesnt sit well with the Pom saying that we have tabled a formal offer for TPJ. That would seem reasonably decisive ....no?

I've heard that from few places now and not just what the POM said.
Results speak for themselves and we have not signed a top line player for years with Josh Reynolds / Mbye been the last ones that was even close to an rep player. Could be a lot of reasons for this but we will not know unless we are on the inside.
Are we low balling?
Are they not happy with our roster?
The Facilities ?
The 4 different home grounds?
The Coach?
The Location?

IDK and don't claim to know but something is not right when a Professional Club can not attract top players..

We all want the same thing and thats a quality rosters that puts in every game and makes the finals.

Must be a great bikey gang around concord has that been included

Players and there management won't hang around while our Management mull over who they want. If another teams comes in and agrees to there terms we miss out.. Simple as that. I would stick up more for the club and recruitment team if we actually signed a quality player but the proof is in the puddling as they say.
I will also give credit where it is due and they have done an excellent job at buying younger talent and I have said that for the last 12 months.

I want the Club questioning 4 year deals for Funicane and paying a large chunk for Pangai Jnr ..shows to me they are not prepared to roll over and panic like previous management have done...

We can run out with average footballers year on year

Or you can overpay footballers both in dollar amount an length and hamper your roster year on year..

Last year they had James Tamou, Zane Tetevano and Josh Mansour but they have gone now and they still have Api, Capewell and Fisher Harris who is playing outstanding football.
They have an excellent balance in that team and most of there juniors players together growing up. Full credit to them and they are set for years to come.

I think the lockdown has gotten to some people tonight, Dan Murphys did send me an email through the week stating they are an essential service so will be open. I guess they were right judging by this thread tonight.

Nope ...the club has finally sent us all innsane

We are just all undecided because of our recent big name purchases and how they have failed us big time either with injury or effort. A couple of purchases that give value will liven us up along with our young recruits
