He didn't say no at all - he said Absolutely - after seeing stuff being written on here that i thought was wrong i went back and watched it again - he never denied there was a deadline. I'm not defending him - i can't stand him. But to just put stuff up that is blatantly false just because you don't like the guy is wrong.
He tried to divert the conversation away from the deadline question until it became apparent that Read had something and then relented and explained it.

I think you need to re watch it. The absolutely was to a question previous.
LH specifically said there was no deadline, the 3 day window was suggested at which point he said I don’t know, it seems right. His reasoning was that Brooks management wanted an offer in a deadline and they assumed ( awesome) that’s how negotiations were gunna be. At every point they bungled this. I’m happy they did with brooks but remember these brainstrust are the same guys we won’t to secure players in the future. Look at the track record of missed players. Did they assume in the past? Did they put deadlines on? Did they “hope” for favorable outcomes? It’s pathetic.

For all Gus’s faults, does he seem like the type of guy that waits or makes things happen.

Anyways, done talking about that clown. If you can’t see what a cancer he is for the organization I don’t know what to say. I’ve seen people support emblems, players, jerseys, home grounds, leagues clubs but never seen people defend moronic administration.

I agree.

But you can only buy what's on the shelf.

And given the halves market contains very little, a five-eighth prospect touted as one of the best in the country would be a good idea to pursue, concurrent with a continued search for a long overdue decent halfback.
We have people that can play 5/8 for a year as long as they are with a halfback who game manages.
This kid has done nothing to gain these wraps. It is Luke Brooks all over again. If we are to pursue a 5/8, there are some with experience, likely costing less who are out there.

That's how I perceived it too @Tucker and @The Fresh Oil.
Thought he did fairly well with most questions but was evasive in explaining the whole Brooks contract negotiations situation.
It sounded a little sketchy to me.
I found him to be defensive, he was uncomfortable. He could have easily addressed the Brooks issue if the club had managed it well. He wasn't being honest, my view anyway.

Yeah I think that's how I remember it.... I only watched it once no way watching it again 😵‍💫

Good man to have in he trenches…lol

He reminds me of the Pommy Generals at Gallipoli … leading from the rear…
Such and apt description - he is just like Field Marshal Sir Douglas Haig.

Knighted for his service and at the same time considered a criminal for sending thousands to their death un-necessarily.

I think Black-Adder's take on Haig is pretty close to the performace of Lee H's reign over WT!

Lee succeeded.

He largely created closure on those issues.

A good man to have in the trenches.

Stood up for the club and deflected a difficult situation.
The panel were in agreement he was likely lying when they reviewed the interview.
The majority of the fan base think he’s either lying or hiding the truth.
Neutral rugby league fans are laughing.
No closure that I can see.
BTW…he would be pathetic in the trenches.

I don't know what show you were watching but that is just total BS. At no stage did Lee say or intimate that Brooks offer was on advice and that the offer was considered fair by a 3rd party. This is the trouble with this forum lately. People just pushing their own agendas and making up crap to back up their point of view.
Mate you have a poor take on the situation.
Don’t get personal, it’s your own doing.

Leaders lie. That's their job to do whatever to protect their group.

The panel had to resort to deconstructing the interview and then debating it.

He offered closure of questions asked.

He had an answer for everything.
That’s because he is well prepared.
I wouldn’t believe a lot of what he said though. He spent most of the interview deflecting blame and he offered no solutions bar lip service…I.e we’re embarrassed

Well a bit off topic but Haig implemented the atrititional strategy the allies decided on.

By Knighting him they rewarded his obedience whilst at the same time made him a hero to some to silence the critics.

Done his job then.
Probably won't hear much more regarding these questions in the media in coming days.

Haig said words to the effect of "If 3 of my men die killing 2 of their's i will win the war because i have more men",a more disreputable piece of shit i could not imagine as a any military leader. How such a callous attitude was allowed to continue is a disgrace at all levels. It is not surprising he was loathed by the majority of his men and he fully earnt his tag as a "butcher".
