Is that true? I really hope there's some explanation. If there isn't it's a terrible indictment of the club.
We were supposed to support a club ran event in the ground last night. We had people show up for it but it wasn't there. I would guess that it didn't go ahead because of the NRL covid restrictions but we weren't informed and haven't received an explanation. We spent the week promoting this event for the club.
Thanks for the response. That is seriously terrible. I don't think any of the recently announced COVID restrictions would have stopped the event proceeding but, even if they did, it's common courtesy and a sign of an organisations's efficiency that they would advise fellow organisers.
I don't want to go overboard but it's symptomatic of how this club operates and ultimately the results it produces on the field. I hope you hold them to account. I am very close to having nothing further to do with a club that I've supported (through Wests) since 1961. Cataclysmic change is needed.
There were supposed to be players in attendance and players have entered a bubble so that was going to be an issue. We had also organised for members of the women's team to be in attendance so I believe there was nothing stopping that from happening.
I can understand if they had to cancel it, would be just nice to be informed.
That is garbage form from the club. What a bunch of amateurs.

We made a $100k profit a few years ago. He’s a wizard with numbers
@avocadoontoast : is it better to make $100k profit than a loss :thinking_face said:When you say that profit was made a few years ago, have we had a profit or loss since? :slightly_smiling_face:
I’m not sure, I thought we lost money in 19/20 but I could be wrong.
OK...yes you could be wrong!
I wonder if anyone else knows what the facts are?
2019 was a loss after investments into the business. From memory we were back in profit last year or made a small loss due to the impacts of covid, I'm not 100% sure.
My understanding is for 21 we were budgeted to make a profit based on the assumption of no crowds, so we should be doing better than that.
