The Ashes

Hey Hobbo…how are the Poms handling the heat..?

I'm fine thanks Geo .
Currently in the pool at Soldiers Point having a sneaky beer watching the kids perfect their silly Salmons !

I had a surf Patrol to do in the morning but got out to the SCG at 2pm ..pretty much when the Aussies declared. Nathan Lyon's first couple of overs when the ball was only 5 overs old was something else. He had bounce and turn plus they were coming through pretty fast.
Hobbo, I've got to give it to the Balmy Army. It was over 40 and they were out there in the full sun going hard for a few hours straight at the end of the day.

I take it there was a full days play cause happy's. gone missing…

Looking at the Cards looks like the Poms surrended meekly again and Uzi and Smudge have us mowing them down...

Reckon that lost time could be crucial today , got this feeling the Poms might hang on today

other slow dead pitch. not much wear for the 5th day.
Cummins has bowled very well on a wicket that has given the bowlers much at all.

Yeah i just had a peak online Poms 8/178 …48 overs remaining....Hobbo should be breaking into that rain dance about now....or maybe call it off cause it's too hot...

Ooopsie  make that 180 all out….

Way to dig in you Pommy beeeeeeeep...t

Once again happy's crystal balls need a polish...

Joe Root had the opportunity to endear himself to the Australian crowd by bravely coming out and taking on the 9th wicket - ala Graeme Smith who was universally HATED buy Aussie crowds until that moment of bravery turned everyone around.

Shows the character of the bloke, and the team sadly.

Insipid Limp crap from the English.

Good series by the Aussies!

Will be interesting to see whether they will stick with Bancroft or drop him.

My 15 man squad for South Africa:
Warner (vc)
Renshaw/Burns
Khawaja
Smith ©
S Marsh
M Marsh
Paine (wk)
Cummins
Starc
Lyon
Hazlewood
Handscomb/Maxwell/Head
J Richardson/Bird
Short/Stoinis/Agar/Swepson (pick 2)

Said before the first test, both teams had unreliable batting line ups, but only one team had the bowling attack capable of taking 20 wickets on more than a couple of occasions.

South Africa are very similar to us, super bowling attack, with a very unreliable batting lineup. Be very interesting to see if Steve Smith golden run continues. He certainly will not have the time to play his shots that he did against the Poms. Facing 135km bowling to 145km plus is a big leap, but I guess he has plundered every other attack in world cricket so why shouldn’t SA be any different. Anyway should be a great series

Haha you are not seriously still banging on with this narrative? Fair dinkum the bloke has scored runs everywhere. If he wasnt in this squad we'd be ranked outside the top 5 at test level yet you feel the need to continue with your doubting?

We'd be hard up beating Zimbabwe.

We beat the Poms

Anyway I hear the serving judge for Ben Stokes will be a certain Judge Boof Lehmann , expecting Stokes to see hard labour with an extremely large cell mate who can bat left or right handed (if you get my drift  )until after the 2019 Ashes series

Rangas , you just can't trust them
