Yes it's a perfect opportunity for both parties.
Although I wonder if the NRL will be wary, after what occurred between the Newcastle Knights and Nathan Tinkler

If the presso at 1.30 is as expected does everyone agree that the Titans should be saved by the NRL ??

Would a club that was partially controlled by the NRL get advantages that other clubs wouldn't ??

Merge them with the ASADA boys and send em' to Perth !

I think the NRL stepping in, is saving the Club from further embarrassment .

The NRL has an obligation at this moment in time to extant the Titans not make them extinct.
They have commitments to T.V rights in maintaining a 16 team Competition in this moment in time.

The Gold Coast goes into administration and all of their board members remain . ??

I think the GWS get about 900 k (approximately 10 %) more than the other clubs

I do agree that a Rugby League side here on the Gold Coast just does not work as with previous sides like the Chargers , Giants and Seagulls is the proof in the pudding .
People up here love the Gold Coast Suns , there AFL mad up here .
Even with the Soccer side Gold Coast United a couple of years ago that folded it just doesn't work , i struggle to pin point it at times .
Is it the Beaches the supporters would rather be during Day games ? or hitting the night spots at Night? i really don't know why they don't turn up .
Let me tell you during the Season , Radio Station 90.9 Sea FM are always giving out free tickets to a Titans game during the Week , not just 2 tickets ? PLENTY tickets.
I do believe another side towards Ipswich or in Brisbane would work there is enough Population up that way just not on the Gold Coast . I hate to admit it :bawling

It's taken time but they are building the GWS to be a very good competitive side and don't be surprised if they are in the 8 this year .
AFL are a very smart Organisation .

Agree whole heartily Hobbo and interesting precedent has be set here….If balmain fail to repay the NRL debt ...I would now expect them to continue in partnership with the Wests Group to ensure the viability of the Wests Tigers....

I do think it smacks of hypocrisy...

They have been struggling Financially for a long while mate . They can't attract any Sponsors even before this Cocaine thing went Public .
Michael Searle Strategic Plan didn't go to Plan.

You're right every team has failed on the Gold Coast . People aren't up their to watch the footy , they prefer washed out beaches , run down theme parks and fast food takeaway's every 50 meters .

The NRL are pissing money up the wall with their continued support of a team up there IMO .
