But you have to wonder why he can't recruit names to come and play for the Knights and make them a stronger roster

The thing with Rick Stone is that he coaches the knights to play conventional footy which is ok if you have conventional players. When you have innovative players like Marshall and Farah in your team you need to play an unconventional style and that is what makes us so dangerous. When you play an unconventional style of footy, you have to accept inconsistencies in your game. When our style comes off, we look brilliant, when it doesnt we look poor. You really can't play brilliant footy for 80 minutes, even if we did have our full team on the field.

My problem with our side is we play well and we try and get more and more extravagant when we should continue to play the game which got us to that point from the start
Then we make mistakes turn ball over and start to leak points
Its keeps coming back to the same point we need to get a side which can play consistantly good mistake free football whatever style we play whether it be grinding or attacking
Thats when we will be a truly feared side

All coaches have their own styles.
I think too many here are looking for a Wests Tigers style coach when this topic comes up.
Wests Tigers style isnt the be all and end all. Yes, its attractive footy….but its still less than 50% succesful at the end of the day

While we could play a little more conservatively, our side has pretty much revolutionised the game.
I wouldn't change them for quids, their style is still unique. I could ask for a little more controlled game, but I wouldn't trade the flick passes, steps and hail mary's for anything. This team over the last 6 years has entertained me more than I could have possibly imagined.

Personally, I'm happy to go with what we have. Yes, we don't put teams away and we win games even though we're still not happy with how we win. Let's face it, we'll never be happy with how we win, it's part of the Wests Tigers fans psyche, it's who we are. We'll forever criticize any team who wear's the Wests Tigers colours. We have been doing it since day dot. Unless we play the perfect game week in and week out, we'll never be happy and we'll constantly call for change. I'm not saying it's wrong to criticize I'm saying that I'm thankful that we're not in the same regard as the balmain and wests teams were before the merger and after the merger. Would I love another premiership, of course I would. I'm content with what we have and happy that we're in a challenging position. I'm content knowing we'll be challenging again next year and not in the same position as the fans from Raiders, Eels, Titans and Roosters, wondering where to from here. We'll be in the finals next year and challenging. I'm happy knowing that.

But the way I read your question was
Do you want to win premierships boring or Look great look like we are going to win the premiership and lose tragically again
I am saying winning premierships is want we all want and I personally don't care how we win them

I think what the OP is trying to say is that it's time for a change, and in a way, I do agree with him/her. As OP said, players are too comfortable, comfort is good, but too much comfort is bad. Teams are about mateship not brotherhood. All this stuff about Sheens is a father to me sounds cute, but that's not how a football team words. They need tough love and so far it is evident that Sheens has shown them too much confort and given them too much independence.
I'm not saying it's time for Sheens to go, even if he does, even appointing Waybe Bennet as Sirro said would be a risk, just like appointing Georgie. Either Sheens changes the way he coaches or we appoint a new coach. The main point of the OP is that it's time for a change, and I agree.
Maybe, the club is trying to make changes with the appointment of Blair and coolheads like Bell and Reddy, IDK. But if the point of the OP is "change" then I agree.

The coach is mostly responsible as he facilitates/encourages the "culture",but also the leadership(ie farah & Benji)have some responsibility.
Someone has to have the overall big picture perspective of when to consolidate what shld be a winning lead,& the knowledge of how to close it down.
Prince had the smarts to do this,you can bet a Cameron Smith/Lockyer style of leader in our team wld also.
We just keep doubling up the bet & hoping luck is on our side
A fun ride,but without real leaderrship its groundhog day to 2010 when we were also the best team in the comp but didnt get to GF…underachieving

Try and look at the Tigers, OUR team, with another coach....good coaches have their own style but they will also use the teams strengths, capitilise on them, while working on our weaknesses...which is something that hasnt happened for a long time.
I like Sheens, but i feel someone else could get us even better....as most have agreed with here in my original point, we didnt see them at their best at all

A good example would actually be Wayne Bennett. With the current Dragons sqaud he took a conservative approach, but when he had the likes of Langer, Lockyer, Renouf etc, he was more attack minded. Bennett adapted to his players but still found the right balance for that particular playing group.
Now just for example, if Bennet came to the tigers, it doesnt mean he would coach us like he coached the Dragons. He would adapt like he has all his career. I can think of 3 times Bennett has adapted his coaching to suit the style of his playing roster…....therefore creating the right balance and CONSISTANCY.
