I know it’s easy to point the blame at Wests Tigers as failed organisation, but geez I feel sorry for them with the crap they have to put up with from players these days.
These players that ultimately are the problem by not consistently playing anywhere near their best which leads to the team constantly losing games, then want to kick and scream requesting ridiculous money and/or wanting to leave while still contracted.
They know full and well the club is trying to bring in better players to help achieve better results and they know full and well no club can afford to pay way over their true value and still build a competitive team around them.
Common sense tells you there are quite a few successful clubs that have ageing rosters and no ready made replacements for their star players, hence the reason why our best young players are always a big target.
I don’t think you can keep players that don’t have their heart in the clubs best interests, hopefully our CEO Richardson is calling their bluff and will get some good quality players in return for letting them go.

What I’m uncertain of is whether other clubs are going through the same thing but shielding it better, or it’s just a result of our failure to succeed ?

The club really needs to add value to the jersey. We have 25 years of history behind us. most of our team weren't born when the club started.
We need to continually remind one and all what it means to be a part of this club.

Can anyone point me in the direction of where I can find the club's Mission Statement, Vision Statement, Rai Son D'etre, or whatever they call it?
All I could find is "To enrich the lives of the community"
So if that's the measure of success then how many lives have we enriched recently?

Well they certainly haven’t enriched the lives of long suffering supporters, but as far as community work goes, the Wests Tigers have been great. Engaging in the community was one thing Pascoe was actually good at. I always thought he’d be better off as CEO of a charity organisation, rather than a football club. Heck the whole club may as well become a charity organisation (many clubs think we already are) because we’re not cutting it as Rugby League club. May as well play to our strengths and stop trying to be something we’re not.

We can’t go back in time, so only talking about the current developments.
Who’s at fault here, the club itself or the self entitled under achieving players ?
I know some will say they are not getting the right coaching. Whether that is true or not, the coach shouldn’t have to convince players to play with intencity and at the very least run hard and tackle hard.

Just picture this season as if Pascoe was CEO & Lee was still chair. What we're seeing is the result of years & years of mismanagement. Just remember this team & coaching staff were put together under their watch & they were the ones who fast tracked Benji into the role of Head Coach.

For me the club is two to three years behind constantly. Bateman 2 to 3 years ago better player same with Klemmer. We have some guys like Stef, Bula, Sam Fainu etc that will be great in 2 to 3 years. If you look at the Riff their timing was great with that team and has continued to be good. I think our previous admin and coaching staff dropped the ball years ago and we are constantly playing catch up with the roster.
Hopefully Richo can fix this but we need to hold onto the good ones we have now and build, Luai and Turuva are a good start.

You could say mismanagement, but constantly having to deal with self entitled players and their over zealous managers would be easier said than done.
The good things is we now have someone in Richo who won’t cop their crap.
The issue is he’s not getting any younger and it will most likely take a few years for the message to get through that Wests Tigers will no longer be used and abused by players and their managers.

No need to mention a string of ineffective coaching?
Me thinks a major contributing factor

Unfortunately it was the former admin that
*Brought sheens back
*Sacked Madge
*Put sheens and Benji joint coaches
*Sacked sheens supposedly because of the young squad
*Fast tracked Benji
And here we are with little or no progress other than getting rid of the old admin and employing Richardson ((the only positive out of the change not touched by the old admin)

Richo off trying to flog players, should be actively hunting a new coach.
Most clubs...5 straight losses, coach is out the door
Quality players leaving or booted for underperforming.
Go to other clubs with quality coaches and show their worth.
It ain't fkn rocket science ffs!!!

Interesting take from Mitchell Pearce & Todd Carney on today's Footy Talk podcast on Spotify. Basically said losing has become accepted / engrained at the Tigers which is why so many don't look despondent at the end of a game. They both didn't like the look of our players smiling and not with their heads down after the loss on Friday night, saying it doesn't seem to hurt. They did qualify by saying it's ok to catch up with opposition players but our boys need a bit of awareness of what perception it sends to the fans.

Changing coaches works every time 😂

Bud was having a good cuddle and a laugh with Hunt on the field. Put him on the next to Heathrow.

While I agree Bud’s attitude has been very disappointing from game 1 and we don’t want to see him laughing or joking with his ex team mates after we just got flogged , I still maintain we would not have scored a point in that game without him.
I know we can’t believe everything we read, but if it’s true Galvin was openly saying in the dressing shed that he can’t wait to leave, I’d be sending him to Heathrow first.
If that is true I don’t think Richo would tolerate it either and it could be a bluff to get a good quality player In exchange for wherever he goes.
Long term Galvin could become superstar, but short term a Sullivan/Luai combination would probably be better and certainly create more points.

All I know is that I am not one of them.

First of all I love ....The Big Picture... As much as the ...Must Win Game...

So kudos to you..

Truth is someone comes first and someone comes last I think Richo has a big enough set to turn the club around and won't be pushed around or bullied by a player's manager

He will get some hard heads in the players ranks and push on

The players can't be at their best until they are physically, mentally and emotionally looked after.

Our club is definitely working hard to achieve that but at the end, this game is all about winners and losers. The losses take a lot out of you and all you need is that 30 seconds of doubt by one player for teams to score a try and that is what's happening.

We have come a long way, but so have all the other 16 teams. They are improving so much faster than us.
