What he brings to the team is unquestionable.

Madge has already stated when he's fit , he's in the 17 no matter what.

No offence to Madden but Sam Walker did a textbook chip-n-chase last week, so it's not the first time in ages.

It's coming back into vogue because of the tendency for fullbacks to defend in the line. Especially if the fullback ends up making a tackle and unable to clear the ruck.

His asking price just went up mega dollars with that kick. Did anyone listen to Cooper Cronk? He was excited, I mean really excited, uncomfortably excited about Hastings. Hastings player really well but I was worried about the other commentator with Cronk.

Wasn't very excited when he made no ground outside our red zone with a penalty kick when we'd been down there forever - may have even been down a man at that time?

If money was the same it's still Brooks, but a few hundred thousand is no joke. You're right it's a big call.

But do we get better results for the extra cash? Pay for Brooks who has hit his peak over Madden who is showing improvement with each game & has plenty of growth left.

I’m not convinced the extra cash will provide an improved result. At this stage prefer to keep Madden and push the cash difference into a rep quality back or forward.

The other aspect with Madden is goal kicking. He is a high % kicker something you always need.

I thought Madden found some good touch finding metres.
His goal kicking was pretty good too.
It's usually Brooks that kicks it backwards when finding touch.
