The Ex-Tiger Watch.

18 tackles in the first 15 minutes - and 16 in the remaining 65\. Total of 34 for 'the enforcer'.
The other brisbane prop made 46 tackles - & also happened to make 104m in his spare time.

Sounds similar to last week when blair made ~30 metres in the first 15 odd minutes and then nothing for the rest of the game.

Few familiar faces in the NSW Cup TV game today…

Nathan Brown and Matt Hyland for North Syd
BMM and Nu Akeripa for Panthers.

The forgettables, eh?

I still can't understand why we let Naiyaravoro go. He was always going to be a good player. Same goes for Koroibete, sure he had deficiencies but he wasn't given much chance to improve.

I would have liked to have kept both Mr T & Koro but both were playing reggies and despite being in good form could't crack it for the NRL side and left for more opportunities and succeeded.

Ed Pettyborne has been playing very well for the Titans. Looks far better than he did for us in the few games he played under Potter.

The point is - they were not that good for us (potential yes) but how many can you keep.
Sometimes when they go - the different game plans, philosophies etc. are better for them. It can be that if they stayed with us they would not have got better.
I'm quite happy they all went, Koro, Mr T, Austin, Pettyborne, Heino, Ayshford, Ryan, Gibbs, Blair and especially Fifita. Had his day in the sun. Don't think he will ever need blockout again.

Only player of recent times I wouldn't have minded keeping was Mitch Brown - not a star but a good fill in FB and can play solid on the wing.

Maybe this thread should have been called "The ex Tigers not worth watching"

I still am undecided on Koriobete….havent really seen him under pressure in defense yet this year....lets not forget he had absolutely no idea in this regard

eto nabuli left penrith and is going good for the dragons, try on debut last week. solid in D.

cant keep em all. but i reckon the panthers fans arent sitting around whinging about fifita and koro week after week…

I reckon youre right…it would be like us whingeing about losing Jennings and Luke Lewis :crazy

Thought the intention of this thread was about discussing Ex Tigers and how they're going not bemoaning they left….go figure....carry on

Koro was a loss I will whinge about because it was unnecessary. Given the amount of time and money we spent on developing him, it was a silly decision to let him go. It will be even sillier in two years time when Pat retires and we have nothing to show for sacrificing youth for experience.

Fifita was a poor decision too but he was mug and it was necessary to get a highly paid forward with bung knees, that no club wanted, off our books.

There were other reasons behind Koro's departure…It wasn't a case of not wanting to keep him ...it was a case of a player being not happy at the Club letting his discipline slip turning up late for training etc.....No matter how good they are if they don't want to be here it's time to let them go ...best for both parties concerned...you move on..

2 years is a life time to unearth a winger, god damn.

Brown has an occasional good game - the rest of the time he's very average. (And that's being kind).

I see Koro/Lodge and BMM/Kev Naiqama as trades in a sense.

We gave both those clubs players who weren't going to get a go and received back players the same as a result.

It's worked out fine for us right now.

How was Gavet on Friday night? In the first round he didn't seem to be any different from the player I saw last year running out from halftime at Brookie Oval with a big smile on his face and us down 18 points. The body is a fit for NRL but not the brain.
