The first thing you think of when you think about 2005 GF

Benjis Flick Pass, Went with two mates, One followed Saints the other Manly and at the end of the Game all three of us were crying, We still talk about it. Great night.

I remember…

I remember driving around Leichhardt during the week leading up to the big game. I didn't live in the area but had to go down there to check it out. The feeling was like you were on holidays. Everyone had a smile on their face. There were tiger colours everywhere. Wonderful feeling!

Come grand final day, it was a bloody hot day. I remember sitting under the trees outside the stadium, trying to cool off.

I remember the nerves building as kickoff approached. I remember the thrill of our first try. I remember the fantastic view of the Richards try (I was sitting behind the ingoal in the corner Marshall ran the ball out of).

I remember the nerves as the final minutes were counting down. We had it won... almost. Couldn't let myself go off early. There was still time for it all to go up in smoke. I was thinking back to 1989...

When the Cowboys scored in the right corner, it was so bloody tense. But once they missed the conversion, I finally let myself go!

And of course I remember Payten scoring the celebration try at the end, so close to where I was sitting. How sweet!

After the game, I remember them playing Eye of the Tiger on constant loop while the team made their way ever so slowly around the ground. It took them so bloody long to get to us, but I was in no real hurry. WHAT A FEELING!!!

What a brilliant freaking day - night - day it was. As far as the game goes it went so fast but I always felt quite calm hat we would win it . After a tense first 15 mins we looked the better side but never quite shook them off.

Of course pats try and that tackle by BG were standouts.

But two moments i will never forget were when Hannay missed that goal and 100 thousand peeps let out a groan the likes I had never heard. It's hard to explain if u weren't there but it was the loudest moan of joy ever.

And then watching a sea of orange sing eye of the Tiger after the game.just amazing.and then back at the leagues they played we are the champions and eott all night. If u weren't hoarse u weren't there.

And seeing how excited the old balmain players were was a real treat. I remember brasher running around waving a flag in the air at ten in the morning and benny giving hus speech from the top of the stairs to the thousands 8 Victoria rd.

What a freaking awesome night! And me and my mates won a fortune on them to.

Just brilliant!

@Tigermama,sounds like it was almost romantic, good to see you had a great day..hopefully many more to come for this magical team…....

Took the wrong option on the day, went to the wrong Grand Final Party, it was damn hard to celebrate the Win in freakin' WALLERAWANG!…............

We booked tickets to the US in January of 05, never gave a thought to what might happen later in the year regarding the footy.

As it would happen we flew the day of the grand final, so once we boarded I asked the steward whether he could get some score updates for me.

To my surprise the captain started giving score updates over the pa which made the long flight and beers more enjoyable.

I was at Uni that year, in my mid 20s. that game had so many rollercoaster moments from start to finish

It didn't start well, when Bowen scored early I thought Ohhhh no don't tell methis isn't our night! because up until that game we had scored the first try in every semi game and got a early good start.. lucky enough not long later Bowen gave us a try in the in goal and we were square again.

I remember being so nervous at times in that game at 6-6 I walked into my room had the radio on, and hadley went off after Benji made a break I ran to the loungeroom tv shouting GO GO and cheering Richards pushing Jenkins I think it was aside, and thinking he was going to run into touch!

when it got to 18-12 the nerves kicked in again I remmeber Hodgo losing the ball on our own line and we were in toruble…. then th emoment where I knew we would win, Fitzy of all people sparked us with a run later scored in the corner and when Hodgo kicked it from the sideline I knew we had it won.. even though the cowgirls scored late I still felt if it went to 24 18 we would hold on 1 more set. but when Hannay missed that goal was when I offically celebrated.
